Abstract

Despite being recovered from economic crisis, the infrastructure development in Indonesia still hasn’t shown a significant improvement. It is reflected from the diminishing government allocation for infrastructure as a percentage of Gross Domestic Products. The main objective of the study is to analyze the role of infrastructure through the linkage analysis, dispersion effect analysis, multiplier effect analysis, and the investment effect analysis. The scope of infrastructure is only referred to electricity, gas and water, and construction sector. The data used for this study is the 2005 Indonesian Input-Output Table. The result of the study has shown that infrastructure has a higher backward linkage than its forward. In addition, all of the infrastructure sectors has shown more than one dispersion coefficient and conversely has revealed less than one value for the dispersion sensitivity. Which means that infrastructure had a better capability to support the development of its upstream sectors than its downstream. Infrastructure has a positive multiplier effect toward the other sectors. The growth of the investment in the electricity, gas and water sector has given the biggest effect toward the change of the total outpu, while the water sector has given the biggest effect toward the change in the total income,  and road, bridge and port sector has given the biggest effect toward the change in the total labour.

Abstract

The cost structure of textile and clothing industry will affect its performance. Therefore, the analysis of cost structure and its influence to the performance of textile and clothing industry is very important to do. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cost structure and factors that influence the performance of the textile and clothing industry. The analysis used in this research is descriptive and panel model analysis. The result shows that the share of domestic raw material cost is the largest in Indonesian textile and clothing industry cost structure, except for fiber industry where the share of imported raw material cost is the largest. Panel model analysis shows that industry structure, output value, and efficiency have a positive effect on performance (cost price margin/PCM) of textile and clothing industry. Meanwhile, the increases in costs (domestic raw material cost, imported raw material cost, labor cost, and fuel and lubricant cost) negatively affect the performance (PCM) of textile and clothing industry. Keywords: cost structure,  performance analysis,  panel model, price cost marginABSTRAKStruktur biaya industri tekstil dan produk tekstil (TPT) akan mempengaruhi kinerja industri tersebut. Abstract

The purpose of this recearch is to detemine the integration between the main producers of ribbed smoked sheet/RSS and world commodity exchange. This research used vector autoregressionmodel (VAR) with no consideration of cointegration based on the daily price data from January 2013 to December 2014. The results showed that not all market’s RSS integrated. But in the short term proved that the Singapore Commodity Exchange and Tokyo Commodity Exchange affect the market price formation in Indonesia and Thailand. Overall the response of each market is relatively small to price in the Singapore and Japan stock thus less strongly affect the prices established in each market. The results also show the price at the commodity exchange of Singapore and Japan became the source of the greatest affect in explaining the variability of prices in both stock markets. Keywords: RSS, market integration, VAR, market price, ribbedABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui integrasi antara pasar karet alam sit asap (ribbed smoked sheet/RSS) produsen utama dengan pasar berjangka dunia. Abstract

The main issue in the dairy farm business managed by the communities is the relatively low efficiency level of the businesses run by some of the farmers. The research objectives were to analyze the performance of dairy farm business, factors that influence dairy production, and technical efficiency level of the community dairy farm businesses in Indonesia. The research was conducted by surveys so that the primary data from the samples of farmers’ households were obtained through interviews and questionnaires. The analytical method used in this study was the stochastic frontier production function. The results of the analysis showed that the number of the lactating cows raised in small-scaled farm businesses decreased from the previous year; on the other hand, the number of the lactating cows in large-scaled farm businesses increased. Meanwhile, the average milk productions have declined in both small and large-scaled farm businesses. The results of the analysis of the stochastic frontier production function showed that forage fodder input (HMT), concentrates, employment and number of lactating cows are influential factors on milk production. Thus, the efficiency analysis suggests that the level of technical efficiency of large-scaled farm businesses is higher than that of the small-scaled farm businesses, while the efficiency distribution is predominantly in the range of 0,80 to 1,00, which means that most farm businesses have achieved a high level of technical efficiency. The individual factors from the farmers which are influential in decreasing business inefficiency include age and education level; on the contrary, the influences of experience and ownership of the garden affect the efficiency in the opposite way. Abstract

The main problem of Carica farming in Kejajar District was the differences in farmers' prices in the collection and processing Carica fruit industry. The product marketed by the farmers was fresh Carica fruit and information about the minimum selling price caused them to be unable to determine the right institution. These problems affected Carica's marketing channel, leading to market inefficiencies. This study's place was selected purposively in Kejajar District, Wonosobo Regency, with the consideration that Kejajar Subdistrict is a Carica center with a production of 4,589 tons (68%) of the total Carica production in Wonosobo Regency. The research was conducted from October - November 2020. The Structure Conduct Performance (SCP) method was used to analyze the marketing channels. The results of the marketing channel analysis show that the market structure formed at the farm level was in the form of a purely competitive market, and at the trader level, the market structure was formed by oligopoly. There were six Carica-marketing channels with cash payment systems, and the merchant determined the purchase price. The highest farmer’s share and profit to cost ratio was channel I (farmer → processing industry) and VI (farmer → village collector → processing industry). The marketing efficiency analysis results show that the marketing of Carica was inefficient because the farmer's share at four marketing channels received by farmers was still less than 40%. Abstract

Background: Foot and Mouth Disease is a highly contagious disease in livestock that can cause great economic losses when there is an outbreak of the disease.Purpose: This study examines the characteristics and dynamics of milk production on smallholder farms in East Java after the outbreak of foot and mouth diseaseDesign/methodology/approach: The regencies of Malang and Pasuruan are the research locations because they are the centers of milk production in East Java. To obtain a representative sample, farmer households were disaggregated by farm location, with a total of 93 farmer households surveyed 45 from Malang Regency and 48 from Pasuruan Regency. East Java Province was recorded to have 282.364 dairy cows in 2022, accounting for 56% of the national dairy cattle population, making it the key region in dairy cattle production. Through a comparative analysis of key factors, such as feed management, labor efficiency, and animal composition, the study revealed significant differences in milk production between the two regions.Findings/Result: The study found that the number of lactating cows positively impacted milk production, with farmers in both Malang and Pasuruan effectively optimizing concentrate feed. However, labor management challenges in Pasuruan hindered full resource utilization, highlighting the need for improved labor practices. To sustain dairy farming in East Java, tailored strategies that address regional differences, optimize resources, enhance labor quality, and invest in disease prevention and farmer education are essential for increasing productivity and resilience. Conclusion: Policy implications highlight the need for targeted training programs, improved measures to prevent the spread of foot and mouth disease (FMD), and better access to veterinary services to support farmers in adapting to FMD. Ultimately, strengthening resilience in the dairy farming sector is critical to ensuring the sustainability and productivity of dairy farming in East Java.Originality/value (State of the art): This study provides novel insights by not only analyzing the dynamics of milk production in these regions post-FMD but also by examining the specific factors affecting recovery, such as feed management, labor efficiency, and animal composition. This study offers a comparative analysis between the two major dairy-producing areas in East Java. Keywords: dairy farming, foot and mouth disease, milk production, lactating cow, resource management
