Abstract

Self-efficacy is the patient's belief to be able to perform behaviors that support disease improvement. Self care is an action to help control blood sugar. Indonesia is a country that ranks 4th with type 2 DM sufferers. The highest prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia is in DKI Jakarta (3.4%). West Sumatera it self is a province with a prevalence of diabetes mellitus as much as 1.5%. Data on the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in the city of Padang with the highest case being Andalas Public Health Center. The design of this research is cross sectional. The sample is 73 respondents, the sampling technique is accidental sampling.The results showed that 39 respondents (53.4%) had good self-efficacy and 34 (46.6%). good self care as many as 54 (74.0%) and poor self care as many as 19 respondents (26.0%). Based on data analysis using the chi-square test, the p value = 0.004 (p 0.05), there is a relationship between self-efficacy and self-care in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Andalas Health Center. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and self-care in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Andalas Health Center. It is suggested that nurses should always motivate patients to continue self-care in order to improve self-care in diabetes mellitus patients

Abstract

Patients with chronic kidney disease who do not adhere to fluid intake restrictions will experience a buildup of fluid causing lung edema and hypertrophy in the left ventricle. Fluid buildup in the body can cause severe heart and lung function, resulting in shortness and tiredness of the patient. The purpose of this study was to determine self-efficacy with adherence to fluid restriction in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who underwent hemodialysis at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang. This type of analytic research with cross sectional design. The research was analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that more than half of the respondents (51,8%) had non-adherent fluid restriction compliance. Less than half of the respondents (42.6%) had poor self-efficacy. There is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and adherence to fluid restriction in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis (pvalue=0,025).

Abstract

Age is one of the factors that cannot be changed hypertension. A person who is 40 years old has 3 times the chance of getting hypertension. One of the factors that influence hypertension is diet. The other factors that influence the incidence of hypertension is physical activity. This study aims to determine the relationship between diet and physical activity with the incidence of hypertension aged 40-59 years in the work area of ​​the Air Cold Health Center. This research is descriptive analytic with a cross sectional research design. The technique used is Simple Random Sampling by means of the Lottery Technique. Data processing using Chi-Square test with a sample of 53 respondents. Hypertension incidence (52.8%), poor diet (50.9%), and physical activity (47.2%). There is a relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension in the work area of ​​the Pukesmas Air Dingin (p value = 0.045) , and there is a relationship between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension in the work area of ​​the Pukesmas Air Dingin (p = 0.001). It is recommended that health workers at the Air Cold Health Center can provide counseling about diet and activities that can result in the incidence of productive age.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Type 2 is a metabolic disorder characterized by a progressive increase in insulin levels against a background of decreased insulin resistance. DM Type 2 requires treatment in managing the disease with self-care management, if blood sugar levels are not controlled it will increase the risk of complications and can affect the quality of life of sufferers. Quality of life is a concept related to the well-being of sufferers physically, psychologically, socially and environmentally. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-care management and quality of life in patients with DM type 2 at Jati Village, Andalas Health Center, Padang City. This type of analytic research with cross sectional design. The sample is 67 respondents. Sampling technique with purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that 35 respondents (52.2%) had a poor quality of life, and 38 respondents (56.7%) had poor self-care management. The statistical test results obtained a p value of 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05), it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-care management and quality of life in patients with DM type 2 at Jati Village, the Working Area of ​​the Andalas Padang Health Center. It is expected that nursing services will develop health programs related to self-care management to improve the quality of life in DM type 2 patient.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure patients undergoing HD therapy will have effects such as blackened body, fatigue, nausea and vomiting so that their quality of life decreases. Family support can help improve the patient's quality of life. Patients who have been on HD therapy for a long time can finally accept the situation so that it will improve the quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and duration of HD therapy with the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney failure at RST TK.III Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang. This type of research is a cross sectional study. The sample in this study amounted to 45 samples with the "accidental sampling" method and the research instrument used primary data obtained directly from respondents through questionnaires. Univariate analysis is shown in the frequency distribution table and bivariate using chi-square test with 95% confidence = 0.05. The results showed that (51.1%) patients had poor family support, (35.6%) patients who underwent hemodialysis therapy <12 months, (35.6%) patients had poor quality of life. There is a relationship between family support and quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy at RST TK.III Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang (P value = 0.001). There is a relationship between the length of hemodialysis therapy with the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney failure at RST TK.III Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang (P value = 0.000).
