Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of swallow excrement fertilizer on the growth of swamp jelutung (Dyera pollyphylla (Miq.) Steenis) and determine the optimal dosage of swallow excrement fertilizer for swamp jelutung (Dyera pollyphylla (Miq.) Steenis). The study was conducted in 2021, observing plant height, diameter, and leaf count over a period of 2 months. The research design method used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD). The study took place in the Green Campus area of UPR, located on Yos Sudarso Street, as part of the Seedling Garden (Kebun Benih Semai or KBS) planting area, in collaboration with BPDAS-HL Kahayan and Palangka Raya University. The results of the research indicate that the growth of swamp jelutung plants in the open area (Y3 - 100 gr/plant) showed the highest average growth, while in the closed area, the highest average growth was observed in treatment Y4 (150 gr/plant) with an average height of 31.20 cm. The increase in the diameter of swamp jelutung plants in the open area with treatment Y4 (150 gr/plant) showed the largest average value, which is 14.3 cm. Similarly, in the closed area with the same treatment (Y4 - 150 gr/plant), the average diameter was 14.4 cm. The increase in the number of leaves in the open area with treatment Y150 showed an average value of 1857 leaves, while in the closed area with the same treatment (Y150), the average number of leaves was 2136

Abstract

Rattan is a type of palm tree that grows in tropical climates. Rattan currently has a low price level with limited rattan raw materials. However, rattan collectors continue to buy rattan from farmers and provide jobs for their workers with low wages, but rattan workers continue to work. Based on this background, research was conducted which aimed to analyze the level of worker welfare based on the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS); as well as knowing workers' perceptions of their level of welfare at UD Putra Harapan. The data collection method uses observation and structured interviews with key respondents. Data analysis uses a Likert Scale to measure respondents' perceptions and uses analysis of worker welfare levels based on UMR and BPS. The research results show: the level of welfare of workers does not meet the minimum wage individually, but if we look at each household, the respondent's income exceeds the minimum wage. Meanwhile, based on BPS, the level of worker welfare is included in the high classification. The perception of rattan workers at UD Putra Harapan states that their level of welfare is relatively good.

Abstract

Charcoal is one solution to minimize dependence on fossil fuel use, as charcoal is considered cheaper and can be continuously produced because its raw materials come from renewable wood. One type of wood used to make charcoal is Alaban wood (Vitex pubescens). The aim of this study is to analyze the production and utilization of Alaban charcoal used by the people of Gohong Village and to analyze the income level and contribution of Alaban charcoal to the income of the people of Gohong Village. The necessary data includes production, utilization, production costs, total receipts from Alaban charcoal production, selling price, income from Alaban charcoal production, and income from other than Alaban charcoal production. The results of the study showed that the total production of Alaban charcoal was 8,016 sacks/year with a weight of 25 kg/sack. The total income from Alaban charcoal production was Rp 138,884,000/year with an average respondent income of Rp 10,683,385/year. The contribution of Alaban charcoal production to the respondents' income was in the small income contribution category, which was 36.11%, so the average production of Alaban charcoal was used as a side job by respondents for additional income. This Alaban charcoal business can create jobs if done regularly.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the techniques of rattan processing and the production process of rattan handicrafts, analyze the income of rattan artisans, and identify the challenges faced by artisans in Tumbang Habangoi Village. The research employed a saturated sampling method (census) and collected data through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using revenue and income analysis, as well as qualitative descriptive methods. The findings indicate that the rattan processing and crafting stages typically involve soaking the rattan, drying the stems, cleaning the stems (locally known as maruntih and mangalingking), processing, cutting, and splitting the rattan stems and strands, skinning, thinning, and weaving. The resulting woven products include mats, bags, lanjung (traditional backpacks), baskets, tangok, embung, tampi, pot coasters, and bubu (fish traps). The average annual production cost is IDR 449,875, with an average annual revenue of IDR 1,522,500 and an average annual income of IDR 1,246,750. The primary challenges identified include limited market access and a lack of product innovation, which hinder the development of rattan handicrafts in the community.
