Abstract

This research seeks to explore and analyze the effectiveness of peer guidance and counseling (Peer Counseling) in addressing academic stress and burnout experienced by final-year students in Metro City. Academic stress, defined as the pressure stemming from academic demands and competition, is a common issue among students, particularly those nearing the end of their studies. Burnout, which often accompanies this stress, manifests in feelings of exhaustion, detachment, and decreased academic performance. Through the method of library research, this study examines how peer counseling can be utilized as a strategy to alleviate these challenges. Peer counseling provides a supportive environment where students can share their experiences, seek advice, and receive emotional support from their peers. The findings of this research suggest that there is a significant relationship between academic stress and burnout, and that peer counseling has the potential to play a key role in mitigating these issues, thus improving students' overall well-being and academic success. Furthermore, this research emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive academic environment that can help students cope with the pressures they face in their final year of study.

Abstract

Adolescent psychological well-being is vulnerable to disruption due to toxic relationships that can lead to stress, anxiety, and social isolation (introduction). This study aims to explore the dynamics of toxic relationships among adolescents and seeks to enhance psychological well-being by evaluating the SFBC approach as its method Using a quasi-experimental design, this study involved 24 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Measurements were conducted using the Toxic Relationship Scale, which demonstrated validity scores ranging from 0.40 to 0.79 and reliability of 0.934, as well as the Psychological Well-Being Scale, with validity scores ranging from 0.6 to 0.95 and reliability of 0.543 and 0.828. The study employed a pretest-posttest design. In the basic assumption test, the pretest and posttest results indicated that all data were normally distributed and homogeneous, with a significance value of <0.05, allowing for the use of a T-test to analyze score differences. The T-test results indicate that SFBC counseling significantly improves the psychological well-being of adolescents in the experimental group, with their scores increasing from 44.00 to 100.67. This increase is higher than that of the control group, which only rose from 44.25 to 59.25. Thus, SFBC counseling has proven effective in enhancing the psychological well-being of adolescents trapped in toxic relationships. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) can be an efficient and practical approach because it focuses on quickly applicable solutions, which aligns with the characteristics of teenagers who prefer counseling methods that provide immediate results.

Interests and talents are important aspects that determine the increase in student competence, including ability in career decisions. This research aims to analyze the effect of group guidance using mind mapping techniques to increase students' understanding of interests and talents to determine career decisions for class X students at State Vocational High School 3 Metro. This research uses a quantitative approach, real/pure experimental design (true-experimental design), by type of research pretest-posttest control group design. This research instrument uses a scale of interests, talents, and career decisions. Data were collected using a questionnaire tested for validity and reliability and analyzed using SPSS with normality, homogeneity, and t-test pair. The validity test results showed that all 19 questionnaire items are declared valid with an r valuecount ranging from 0.363 to 0.694, which is greater than rtable 0.349. Meanwhile, for reliability, it is said to be reliable because of the score Cronbach’s Alpha 0.874 > 0.60. The research results showed a significant difference in students' understanding of interests and talents before and after being given group guidance using techniques of mind mapping (p < 0.05). The experimental group experienced an increase in the average score from 69.90 to 80.20, with a t-value of 6.386 and a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant effect. As for the significant differences between pretest and posttest in the experimental group with values themselves = 0.000 < 0.05. This proves that group guidance with mind-mapping techniques effectively increases understanding of students' interests and talents.

Abstract

Authoritarian parenting is an important focus in child developmental psychology considering that authoritarian parenting has a very significant impact on psychological well-being. The main characteristic of authoritarian parenting is extreme control over children's needs so that it can hinder children's emotional, social, and independent development). This study aims to analyze the influence of authoritarian parenting on the psychological well-being of students at SMA Taruna Gajah Mada Metro. This study uses a quantitative method with a simple linear regression analysis on 155 students selected through simple random sampling. Data collection was carried out using two scales, namely the PAQ scale with validity (ps<.001) = 0.94 and reliability (α = 0.77-0.92) and the PWB scale with validity (V=0.6-0.95) and reality (α=0.543-0.828). The results of the analysis showed that two classical assumption tests, namely the normality and linearity tests, were met, with a significance value of >0.05. The results of the simple linear regression test also show that authoritarian parenting has a significant influence on the psychological well-being of students. This can be seen from the significance value of less than 0.05, which is 0.000. The simple linear regression equation obtained is Y = 38.284 + 0.166X with the result of the R Square value of 0.13. So it can be concluded that authoritarian parenting has a significant influence, which is 13% on the psychological well-being of students at SMA Taruna Gajah Mada Metro.

Abstract

This The purpose of this study is to find out how adolescent social behavior is related to fatherless status. The absence of a father figure in a child's life, both physically and emotionally, is referred to as fatherless status. Social behavior is the way a person interacts well with others such as cooperating, empathizing, and communicating. This study used a correlational quantitative method with 118 respondents from Ibs Nur Shofin Junior High School. This study used the Father-Love Absence Scale (FLAS) instrument used to measure fatherless status and the Social Skills Improvement System-Rating Scale (SSIS-RS) used to measure adolescent social behavior. Assumption tests including normality and linearity were conducted, and the results showed that the assumptions were met for the Pearson correlation test to be used. The results showed a significant moderate negative relationship between social behavior and fatherless status (r = -0.416, p < 0.01). That is, the higher the level of fatherlessness, the lower the social behavior exhibited by adolescents. This study confirms the important role fathers play in supporting adolescents' social development and may serve as a basis for social and educational interventions.
