Abstract

This research is based on the low student learning outcomes and student activities in Civics learning in elementary schools. This research applies the Team Games Tournament type cooperative learning model which aims to improve student learning outcomes and activities through learning which contains elements of tournament games. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method which consists of cycle I and cycle II with several stages starting from planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The instruments used in this research were learning evaluation tests, observation of student activities, and interviews. The subjects in this research were class IV students at one of the West Jakarta elementary schools, totaling 30 students. Before implementing the TGT learning model, students obtained learning outcomes of 10%. When implementing the TGT learning model in cycle I, student activity achieved 65% and student learning outcomes achieved 57% with an average of 61.5. This has not achieved the expected target, so the second cycle was carried out with student activities getting 92% and student learning outcomes getting 83% with an average of 75. Based on this, it can be concluded that before implementing the TGT learning model there were still students who experienced understanding. which is low so improvements need to be made for good learning outcomes, then after implementing the TGT learning model, student activities and learning outcomes experience a much better improvement. So, learning by implementing the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model can improve PPKn learning outcomes for grade IV students in elementary schools.   Keywords: cooperative learning model type Team Games Tournament (TGT), elementary education, learning outcomes

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low social skills of students in social studies learning, especially in relation to daily life. In social studies learning, students have difficulty applying Social Skills. The solution to fix it is to apply Role Playing learning. In order to anticipate this phenomenon, in this study, an approach social studies learning was applied, namely the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in improving students' Social Skills in social studies lessons. In learning that uses this contextual approach strategy, students are directed to think critically and act logically, creatively, innovatively and tolerantly and are able to build cooperation in their groups. The application of the contextual approach in this study is focused on the discovery of events experienced by students themselves as well as their use in solving problems around students in the context of daily life.This research is a Classroom Action Research. The cycle model consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consists of learning planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The instruments used consisted of interviews, observations, and individual test sheets. The conclusion obtained in this study is that in the initial condition of learning obtained an average score of 65.17, in the first cycle the average score of the pre-test was 67.58 and the post-test score of 87.24 increased by 22.07. In the second cycle, the average score of the pre-test was 87.58 and the post test 91 increased by 3.76. Overall, social studies learning with the application of a contextual approach has experienced a relatively significant increase in social skills both in the student learning process.   Keywords: Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, role playing learning, social skills

Abstract

The achievement of science literacy in Indonesia is still low, based on the results of PISA in 2018 Indonesia ranks 75th out of 80 countries in the low category. Science literacy in science learning is expected that students can apply the knowledge they get at school to be used in everyday life so that students can have concern for the surrounding environment. Therefore, it takes a way of learning that can prepare students to have good learning competencies and science and technology literacy, able to think critically or problem solving, creative, communicate, and collaborate or 21st century skills. One approach that includes technology is the STEM approach. So the purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the effect of the STEM approach on improving the science literacy of elementary school students, as well as to determine and analyze the improvement of science literacy of elementary school students using the STEM approach better than students who get learning using a scientific approach. The research method used in the research is the experimental method with the type of quasi-experiment research. The research design used was nonequivalent control group design. The results of the STEM approach research findings have a significant effect on the science literacy skills of elementary school students, which is in the high category with an r square value of 0.823 or 82.3%. The improvement of science literacy skills that get learning with the STEM approach is better than students who get learning with a scientific approach. Learning with the STEM approach gets an N-Gain of 0.62 while scientific learning gets an N-Gain of 0.35, both of which fall into the medium category.   Keywords: elementary school students, science literacy, STEM approach

Abstract

The lack of learning activeness in elementary school students in learning Pancasila education is the background of this research. Factors that are thought to affect the low activeness of student learning are due to students who lack self-confidence in learning activities in Pancasila education subjects. In the learning process, the activeness of students' learning is the main element that is very important in achieving learning goals. One thing that can be done to increase student learning activeness is to use the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Pancasila education subjects. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on learning activeness in Pancasila education subjects for elementary school students. The research used quantitative research and the research method used was pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest (initial test single group final test). The subjects used in this study were 28 grade II elementary school students. This research instrument used a multiple choice test of 10 questions. The highest score on the pretest was 80 and the lowest score was 20, while on the posttest the highest score was 100 and the lowest score was 40. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of the Problem Based Learning learning model on learning activeness in Pancasila education subjects for elementary school students was 21.6%.

Abstract

Scientific literacy skills are one of the important skills to develop in science learning because they can help students have the ability to solve problems by utilizing science and technology. Scientific literacy skills must be trained from an early age from elementary school level. However, previous research shows that elementary school students' scientific literacy abilities are still low. The application of the STEM approach is one type of learning that can improve the scientific literacy skills of elementary school students. This is the basis for carrying out this research. The aims of this research are: 1) To determine the effect of the science technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) approach assisted by scratch on the scientific literacy abilities of elementary school students, 2) To determine the increase in scientific literacy abilities of elementary school students who receive learning using the STEM approach assisted by scratch media. better than students who receive learning with a scientific approach. The research method used in this research is Quasi Experimental Design in the form of Non-equivalent Control Group Design in science and technology learning on energy transformation material. The instrument used is a scientific literacy ability test. The conclusions that can be obtained from this research are: 1) There is an influence of applying the scratch-assisted STEM approach on students' scientific literacy abilities by 48.2%, 2) There is an increase in scientific literacy abilities who receive learning using the scratch-assisted STEM approach better than students who get learning with a scientific approach.

Abstract

Good writing skills are essential in language learning, but students often have difficulty organizing ideas and conveying messages effectively. This research was motivated by the lack of student motivation in narrative essay writing skills. This research aims to improve narrative essay writing skills in class V students at SDN 1 Nagrikidul by applying a learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning with the help of Flipbook media. This type of research is classroom action research carried out on students. Data was collected by analyzing students' written texts, observations, field notes, and documentation. The research results show that using Flipbook media in the learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning can improve students' narrative essay writing skills. The average student writing skill score in the first cycle was 70.76 and increased to 91.92 in the second cycle. Apart from that, students' enthusiasm during learning also shows more active participation. This research concludes that the application of the model Contextual Teaching and Learning with flipbook media is effective in improving the writing skills of class V students. It is hoped that this research can be a reference for educators in implementing more innovative and interesting learning models and media in learning to write.

Abstract

The influence of PJOK learning hours on the psyche of students also needs to be considered. PJOK learningthat is carried out during the day can make studentsfeel tired and less motivated. This study aims todetermine the psychological impact of SMP Negeri 1Martapura students on PJOK Learning during the day.The research sample used in this study consisted of157 students of SMP Negeri 1 Martapura consisting ofclasses VII B, VIII A, VIII C, IX F, IX G. This type ofresearch is quantitative descriptive. The data collectioninstrument uses a questionnaire that is distributed tothe students. From the results of the study, it wasobtained that the majority of students' psychologicalimpact on PJOK learning during the day was in the high category, which was 104 people or 66.2% of thetotal sample of 157 students. Other results were 31people or 19.7% in the medium category and 20people or 12.7% were in the very high category. This iscertainly a problem where only 2 people or 1.3% are inthe low category.
