Abstract

Phytoplankton is the primary producer whose existence depends not only on the nutrient. The eastern part of Segara Anakan waters experienced changes where the decline in quality which received input from organic and inorganic wastes and residential, industrial and factory wastes of Holcim and Pertamina factories. The purpose of this research is to study the water quality and to study the relationship between water quality and abundance of phytoplankton at the eastern part of Segara Anakan. The result showed that Water quality in Segara Anakan waters in the eastern part of Cilacap consists of several parameters that beyond the quality standards according to the Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 51 of 2004 such as pH, Nitrate, Ammonia, Phosphate, and TSS. Water temperature is a physical factor which has a strong negative correlation with the abundance of phytoplankton, followed by TSS as a physical factor which has a positive correlation. The chemical factor which has a positive correlation with abundance are TDS, Nitrite and pH, followed by Phosphate, Salinity, Ammonia, and Nitrate which has a negative correlation with the abundance of phytoplankton. Abstract

Ceriops tagal is a major mangrove species that plays an important role in the mangrove ecosystem. Ceriops tagal is one type of mangrove that has benefits for various marine organisms such as fish, shrimp, nematodes, etc also can maintain the stability of the mangrove ecosystem. In rehabilitation, it is necessary to have a nursery. The addition of husk and husk charcoal to the nursery media can increase the absorption space for water, air, and plant nutrients. The research aims to (1) determine the effect of differences in nursery media with a mixture of husk and husk charcoal on mud media; (2) determine which nursery media has the best effect on biomass and chlorophyll content of C. tagal mangroves. This research started from planting the propagules of C. tagal in different composition growing media with husk and husk charcoal then calculated with ANOVA test 5% and 1% of the biomass in root, stem, leaves, and hypocotyl also chlorophyll content in leaves of C. tagal organ. Then proceed with the honest significant difference test 5% for the wet biomass of root, dry biomass of stem, root, and wet also dry biomass hypocotyl of C. tagal. Research obtained that modification of nursery media with husk and husk charcoal can increase dry biomass of root and stem also wet and dry biomass of hypocotyl in C. tagal organs. The media best media for increase the biomass of the C. tagal in each organ was media 5 (composed of mud + husk charcoal in ratio 2:1) and media 6 (composed of mud + husk + husk charcoal in ratio 1:1:1). The increasing dry biomass of root and stem also wet and dry biomass of hypocotyl are also affected by environmental factors such as pH content in the medium.

Abstract

Pemanasan global terjadi karena adanya peningkatan Gas Rumah Kaca di atmosfer. Penyerapan karbon merupakan salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi peningkatan GRK. Satu diantara tumbuhan mangrove yang mampu menyimpan karbon dalam bentuk biomasa adalah nipah (Nypa fruticans). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui biomassa dan stok karbon yang terdapat pada N. fruticans dan mendapatkan informasi mengenai model persamaan allometrik biomassa dan karbon N. fruticans di kawasan Segara Anakan bagian barat, Cilacap. Hasil perhitungan biomassa N. fruticans menunjukkan bahwa semakin besar diameter pohon maka kerapatannya semakin meningkat, dan semakin besar biomassa semakin meningkat stok karbon yang disimpan. Berdasarkan parameter yang diukur terdapat dua parameter antara lain diameter pelepah dan panjang pelepah N. fruticans. Penelitian ini menghasilkan rata-rata biomassa sebesar 59,1 ton.ha-1, dan karbon sebesar 25,4 ton.ha-1.Model allometrik yang terpilih yaitu Biomassa -8.91 + 0.048 DPb + 0.217 DPt + 0.441 DPa + 0.882 PP dengan nilai R2 adalah 80,8%. Persamaan allometrik konversi stok karbon pelepah adalah stok karbon -2.53 + 0.0293 PDb -0.107 PDt + 0.284 PDa + 0.425 PP dengan nilai R2 adalah 80.1%.

Abstract

Water quality is a water condition that can be measured and tested based on certain parameters. Measurement of environtmental factors are divided into three, there are physical, chemistry, and biology. One of the the biological indicators which used to determine changes in water quality is zooplankton. Segara Anakan Cilacap waters has received input of solid material from industrial and residential waste, which made the water quality and its effect on zooplankton need to be studied. The purpose of this study is to determine the water quality of Segara Anakan, to find out the diversity and abundance of zooplankton in Segara Anakan, and also to know the relation between the water quality and the abundance of zooplankton. The result of the research found that over all the water quality in Segara Anakan Cilacap is still quiet good. The diversity of zooplankton is still relatively low to medium which is composed of 43 species of 8 orders. The abundance of zooplankton is around 175 - 1907 ind.l-1. The most abundant species is Laophonte brevirostris and Leptodiaptomus ashlandii. The relationship between the environmental factor and the abundance of zooplankton based on the regression analysis result found that the abundance equation = 3427 - 271 Salinitas + 0.74 TDS + 1090 BOD with R2 value is 0.863.

Abstract

Mangrove merupakan salah satu ekosistem langka dan khas yang terdapat hanya 2 % di seluruh permukaan bumi. Ekosistem mangrove terluas di dunia berada di Indonesia. Ekosistem mangrove berperan dalam bidang ekologi, ekonomi serta sosial dan budaya. Hutan mangrove setiap tahun terus mengalami penurunan luas dan perubahan tingkat kerapatan akibat kerusakan. Salah satu tumbuhan yang terdapat di ekosistem mangrove adalah genus Acanthus. Genus Acanthus merupakan tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan sebagai bioindikator kerusakan mangrove dan dapat berkembangbiak secara vegetatif dan generatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghitung kerapatan dan distribusi genus Acanthus pada area kerusakan mangrove di Segara Anakan bagian barat Cilacap. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei dengan teknik pengambilan sampel vegetasi mangrove purposive sampling pada 11 stasiun terpilih di Segara Anakan bagian barat Cilacap. Nilai kerapatan dan Pola distribusi genus Acanthus dianalisis menggunakan Surfer 15 untuk mendapatkan pola distribusi genus Acanthus. Nilai kerapatan dan faktor lingkungan dianalisis menggunakan BIOENV dengan Primer 5 kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Nilai kerapatan genus Acanthus pada 11 stasiun terpilih yaitu 15.520 ind.ha-1. Pola distribusi genus Acanthus di Segara Anakan bagian barat Cilacap yaitu pola distribusi mengelompok (aggregate).
