Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan proses ilmiah dan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Surau Gadang Kecamatan Nanggalo Padang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses ilmiah dan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa menggunakan pendekatan lingkungan dengan KIT IPA SEQIP di kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Surau Gadang Kecamatan Nanggalo Padang. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Sumber data adalah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Surau Gadang Kecamatan Nanggalo Padang yang berjumlah 15 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterampilan proses ilmiah siswa dan lembar tes hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Berdasarkan analisis data dari lembar observasi keterampilan proses ilmiah siswa pada indikator mengamati (observing) pada siklus I dengan rata-rata klasikal 33.33% meningkat di siklus II dengan rata-rata klasikal 80%, indikator bertanya (asking) di siklus I didapati rata-rata klasikal 60% mengalami peningkatan di siklus II dengan rata-rata klasikal 86.66%, indikator mengkomunikasikan (communicating) pada siklus I dengan rata-rata klasikal 40% meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata klasikal 86.67%. Dan indikator mengerjakan tugas (experimenting) pada siklus I dengan rata-rata klasikal 66,66% meningkat di siklus II dengan rata-rata klasikal 90%. Persentase hasil belajar kognitif siswa juga mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan pada siklus I sebesar 53% meningkat menjadi 86% pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan proses ilmiah dan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Surau Gadang Kecamatan Nanggalo Padang setelah menggunakan pendekatan lingkungan dengan KIT IPA SEQIP.

Abstract

This classroom action research was motivated by the students’ low scientific process skills and cognitive learning outcomes in natural science. One of the reasons is the lack of teachers’ ability in choosing appropriate learning model and using of Kit or learning science equipments in natural science learning. Thus, the implementation of Problem Based Learning approach with science Kit Seqip to students of class V SDN 20 Kurao Pagang Padang is one of the ways to solve this problem. The objective of this research is to describe the improvement of the students’ scientific process skills and cognitive learning outcomes in natural science at class V at SDN 20 Kurao Pagang Padang by using Problem Based Learning approach with science Kit Seqip. The instruments of this research were the observation sheets of students’ scientific process skills and teachers’ activities and the test sheets of students’ cognitive learning outcome. The results showed that there was a significant improvement of students’ scientific process skills and cognitive learning outcomes in natural science class V by using Problem Based Learning approach with science Kit Seqip from the first cycle to the second cycle.

Abstract

Dan indikator mengerjakan tugas (experimenting) pada siklus I dengan rata-rata klasikal 66,66% meningkat di siklus II dengan rata-rata klasikal 90%. Persentase hasil belajar kognitif siswa juga mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan pada siklus I sebesar 53% meningkat menjadi 86% pada siklus II. Dari hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan keterampilan proses ilmiah dan hasil belajar kognitif IPA siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 08 Surau Gadang Kecamatan Nanggalo Padang setelah menggunakan pendekatan lingkungan dengan KIT IPA SEQIP.
