Abstract

Research on Gastropod Species Diversity in the Intertidal Zone at Teres Beach, South Amarasi District, Kupang Regency was conducted from March to April 2024. The purpose of the study was to determine the types of gastropods in the intertidal zone, the diversity of gastropod species in the intertidal zone, to determine the environmental parameters that support the life of gastropod species in the intertidal zone. The method used was purposive sampling. Sampling was done at the lowest tide. The type of subtraction is rocky and sandy. The station consists of 2 stations, where each station is located 3 transect lines, on each transect line made 5 plots with a size of 3x3 with a distance of 2 metres between the plots. Data analysis using the Shannon Wiener diversity formula . The results of the study found 7 species with a total of 168 individuals. Diversity ranged from 0.2464-0.3267Ind/m2. The conclusion is that the diversity of gastropods on Teres beach in South Amarasi is low with a diversity index value of 0.2670\m2.

Abstract

Macrozoobenthos are aquatic organisms that live at the bottom of the waters with relatively slow movements that are strongly influenced by the basic substrate and the quality of the waters. This study aims to analyze the diversity of macrozoobenthos in the biknoi river, Sub District Naikoten 1, Kupang City. Sampling was carried out at three stations. Station 1 (Bakunase 2 bridge), Station 2 (intlet sluice), and Station 3 (outlet sluice ). Macrozoobenthos samples were taken using purposive random sampling method. Taking macrozoobenthos samples at the bottom of the water using a surber net measuring 25 cm x 40 cm. The results showed that macrozoobenthos found in the Tunan waterfall river consist of 3 phylum, 3 classes, 10 ordo, 20 familia, and 23 genus and 379 individuals. Macrozoobenthic genus that are often encountered are Hydropsyche and the most common macrozoobenthic classis, the Heptageniidae classis. The highest macrozoobenthos diversity index at station 1 (2.69), followed by station 2 (2.31) and the lowest at station 3 (1.94).
