Abstract

Digital technology is increasingly being used in education, especially in primary school subjects such as Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn). However, a significant obstacle that still needs to be overcome is learners' disinterest in civics lessons. The purpose of this study is to find out how learners' desire to learn in elementary school is influenced by the utilization of digital technology in Civics learning. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach is the research methodology used to structure this study by reviewing a maximum of 10 journal articles published between 2023-2025. This method involves searching, discussing, evaluating and interpreting related research that is currently available. Findings from the literature review show that the use of digital technology in the classroom can increase students' enthusiasm for learning. High student attention and active engagement in the learning process serves as proof of this.

Abstract

The Differentiated Approach is an approach that emphasizes the diverse learning styles of learners. The research aims to examine how a differentiated approach can increase students' learning activeness. Through the literature review method by relying on references that discuss the same topic in previous studies, it is expected to be able to increase activeness in students, especially in ASEAN material in social studies learning in elementary schools by focusing on the Cooperative Learning model, it is hoped that this model can provide enthusiasm to be active in students in the learning process. The results obtained prove that learning social studies in elementary school on ASEAN material using Cooperative Learning learning models can significantly increase student activeness in following learning.

Abstract

The teaching of Social Studies in elementary schools still faces challenges in improving students' understanding, primarily due to the dominance of expository methods that lack variety. This study aims to analyze various innovative learning strategies that can enhance students' comprehension in Social Studies education. The research employs a library research method with a qualitative approach, drawing on various references and previous research findings. The results indicate that contextual learning strategies, project-based learning (PjBL), technology integration, cooperative learning, and multi-representation learning are effective in improving students' understanding. Contextual learning enhances students' comprehension by up to 32%, while PjBL improves critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Technology integration, such as augmented reality and interactive digital media, has been shown to increase learning motivation by up to 43%. Cooperative learning and multi-representation strategies also positively impact social skills and conceptual understanding. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive mapping of innovative, evidence-based learning strategies applicable to Social Studies education in elementary schools. The implications of this research highlight the importance of innovation in teaching strategies to ensure that students do not merely receive information passively but can actively apply their knowledge in real-life situations. Additionally, the study underscores the need for teachers to enhance their competencies in implementing more interactive and student-centered teaching methods.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of students' dominant use of regional languages on their Indonesian speaking skills. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations and open-ended questionnaires. The research subjects were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students attending TPQ Al-Muhajirin, located in a community where regional languages are predominantly used in daily communication. The findings indicate that students who primarily communicate in regional languages encounter several difficulties when speaking in Indonesian, including challenges in selecting appropriate vocabulary (72.2%), constructing grammatically accurate sentences (36.1%), code-switching between regional languages and Indonesian (86.1%), and a lack of self-confidence when speaking Indonesian (47.2%). In contrast, students who are accustomed to using Indonesian did not experience such challenges. To overcome these difficulties, students adopted various strategies, such as practicing speaking in Indonesian regularly (36.1%), seeking assistance from teachers or peers (55.6%), and engaging with Indonesian-language materials through reading and video content (5.6%). These results suggest that the dominant use of regional languages significantly affects the speaking skills of elementary school-aged children. Consequently, there is a need for more intensive interventions aimed at enhancing students' Indonesian speaking abilities, such as fostering an environment that actively supports the use of Indonesian in daily communication.
