Abstract

The communication model in the family is part of the interpersonal communication. Here the role of parents can be called as the main communicator in the delivery of communication messages. To achieve the effectiveness of a parent communication certainly has its own way of delivering messages to their children, especially when children face certain problems in their social life. As an effective message delivery standard, this activity suggests three possible patterns of communication skills, including: listening communication; Open communication; and honest communication. Listening communication is a parent-to-child interpersonal communication model, or a form of communication involved, especially in responding to the psychological needs of the child. Open communication is a communication that enables messengers and message recipients to understand what they want to achieve in an ongoing communication. Parents as messengers and children as recipients of the message occupy the same position in the exchange of communication messages they are building. While honest communication is a communication model that is delivered with the aim of fostering self-esteem of children. These three models of communication, apart from being the most important way to find solutions to problems faced by children, as well as a way to counter the tendency of self-egoism of parents. With these communication patterns parents are able to absorb what children expect. And, in this way, children feel understood and appreciated by their parents. Keywords: Interpersonal Communication, Listening, Open, Honest.

Abstract

The rapid development of communication technology allows the communication community to get and do two things at once. On the one hand, the communication community can easily get the information they need, on the other hand the communication community is now productively creating various information content needed by the community. This seminar is intended to make young people aware,  that there is an opportunity for them to democratically convey news to others in the concept of citizen journalism. This seminar was attended by 89 participants from SMA Budi Mulia. The theme of the seminar was citizen journalism as an expression of the democratic attitude of  people. Citizen journalism is a form of community-based journalistic activity, because it has basic characteristics, such as: participatory, community-based, fact-based information, being an alternative media, socially oriented non-profit, and driven by internet-based social media. On the one hand, the characters can provide various alternative sources of information for the audience, but on the other hand, these characters provide a wide space for public duping, hoaxes, and hate speech. In order to balance the very strong character of information based on freedom, it is necessary to apply various ethical principles in collecting and sharing news in citizen journalism. The ethical principles include: accurate, balanced, fair, complete, objective and clear. By upholding ethical principles, citizen journalism is not only considered an alternative media for information, but also the main media in the process of educating the public. The media educates the public in order to uphold its dignity as a reliable source of information.

Abstract

Technological developments and globalization require foreign language skills. This phenomenon causes the high urgency of linguistic competence. This existence has also sporadically triggered the emergence of various foreign language courses in Indonesia. However, this phenomenon seems to be shifting along with the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus. The pandemic era forced foreign language institutions to survive financially to cover operational costs as a result of significant changes before and after the pandemic. However, financial problems are not the only problems foreign language course institutions face—changes from conventional learning models oriented from face-to-face learning to online-based learning. Creating a language course institution changes the various dimensions in it. Research on various problems of foreign language courses in the pandemic era was conducted qualitatively through interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) involving entrepreneurs of intensive foreign language courses in the Tangerang area and its surroundings. Through FGD, it was found that it was necessary to make massive and simultaneous adjustments by course institutions in this pandemic era. The adjustments referred to include changes in teaching methods and techniques and adjustments in terms of promotion. The findings in the FGD will be further developed through an enrichment program involving various parties, including students, teachers, and business owners, for intensive foreign language courses. Community Service Activities (PKM) are expected to have implications for competitiveness data and the ability of foreign language course institutions to survive during the pandemic but still maintain quality.

Entrepreneurship education remains in debate on the extent to which entrepreneurship education has an influence on learners, the accuracy and effectiveness of entrepreneurship teaching methods, and the debate on whether entrepreneurship can be taught. This study aims to analyze whether the entrepreneurship education conducted has an impact to arouse students' entrepreneurial intentions. Subjects in this study are students of Entrepreneurship class. Concept operationalization is done by adopting Mohamad et al (2015) research. Data analysis technique uses Different T-Test Differences. Abstract

Modern human life now is living in and with social media. Social media with the power of the internet network influences the lives and actions of modern humans, including youth, and students. With the character of the network, providing fast information, archiving a lot of data, interactive, and creating content freely, social media can be seen as the most popular media, compared to conventional media, such as radio, television, magazines, and newspapers. There are many benefits obtained from social media as a learning medium to get to know the world more broadly. However, there are also many dangers posed by the use of social media. The dangers that arise can come from health, social, and even social ethical and moral problems. For this reason, the use of social media should follow generally accepted ethical standards in society. Adhering to ethical standards is the key to placing social media as public media. Social media is a tool that serves the public's need for information. The ethics of using social media is a gate keeper for filtering information. With ethics, the use of social media can be directed towards responsible and meaningful self-development in life together. Self-development can occur when social media is used from the context of needs, especially learning needs, making friends, and building positive networks with others. Social media is a reality that cannot be denied, but we can adjust it as needed.

Abstract

Today, an interest in developing analytical and creative ways of thinking has become a necessity for many people as well as many companies. The root of it all is that every company has problems with organizing the various powers within the company. This is realized by PT. Serena Indopangan. Realizing the importance of analytical thinking, the company conducts an “analytical thinking” seminar for employees from the coordinator to the director level. The seminar aims to foster analytical and creative thinking of employees to solve problems in carrying out their daily work. By realizing that they have many potential strengths and complement each other's weaknesses, each company is always directed to achieve success. Everyone in the company has their own strengths and weaknesses, both in terms of physical, emotional, intellectual, talent, and spiritual aspects. Leaders must be able to maximize the strengths of their subordinates and encourage their weaknesses to complement each other so as to produce a new strength for the company's success. Success is achieved, not by the leader's egocentric way of thinking, but the ability to think from the point of view of the strengths and potentials of subordinates. The leader's job is to manage the intelligence potential of the subordinates for the betterment of the company. The ability to think analytically is the ability to manage various subordinate strengths in a comprehensive and professional manner. A good leader does not measure success based on his own strength alone, but his ability to manage the various potential intelligences possessed by all actors under his control. That is the essence of analytical thinking in dealing with problems within the company.
