Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in listening skills using audio-visual learning media in fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon. The research method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The results of the study showed that based on the initial test results, which were 59.46 or classified as adequate, there was an improvement in the results of the first cycle test to 65.21, also classified as adequate, and in the results of the second cycle test, the score obtained was 83.61, classified as good. This demonstrates an improvement from the initial test to Cycle II. This improvement indicates that listening comprehension learning using audio-visual learning media among fourth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon can be successfully implemented.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of reading comprehension skills through the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create) learning model in fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) design with 18 fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon as the research subjects. The results of the study indicate that reading comprehension learning through the RADEC (Read-Answer-Discuss-Explain and Create) learning model can improve the reading comprehension skills of fifth-grade students at SD Inpres 33 Ambon.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement in students' reading comprehension skills using the Jigsaw learning model in fifth-grade students of Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycle focuses on reading comprehension skills. Prior to implementing the first cycle, the researcher first established communication with the principal and class teachers to conduct research on the application of the Jigsaw learning model in teaching reading comprehension skills to fifth-grade students of Kaiwatu Christian Elementary School, Southwest Maluku Regency. A pre-test was also conducted to determine the students' initial abilities

Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at Poka 1 Elementary School through the implementation of the Role Playing learning model. The background of the study is the low speaking skills of students, characterized by a lack of confidence, imprecise pronunciation, and minimal variation in intonation and expression. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles. Twenty students participated. The instruments used included a speaking skills test, observation sheets, and documentation. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed an improvement in students' speaking skills. The average score in the pre-cycle was 62%, increasing to 69% in Cycle I and 90% in Cycle II. Improvements occurred in the aspects of topic development, intonation, pronunciation accuracy, and expression. The study concluded that the implementation of the Role Playing model effectively improved students' speaking skills. This model is recommended as an alternative strategy for learning Indonesian in elementary schools

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of early reading development using big books. The method used was classroom action research, and the sample consisted of seven third-grade students at Kartika XIII-1 Ambon Elementary School. The results of the study showed that big books can improve early reading skills in Indonesian language learning among third-grade students at SD Kartika XIII-1 Ambon.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the improvement in the skill of writing short stories on students of class V SD Kristen Kiera on the material of daily life events using the Problem Centered Learning (PCL) Model. This study is a classroom action research. The location used for this research is SD Kristen Kiera. The subjects of this research are the students of class V SD Kristen Kiera, amounting to 12 students. The improvement in the skill of writing short stories using the Problem Centered Learning (PCL) model occurred in cycle I but has not yet reached its maximum with the lower category, so it was continued to cycle ll, and there was a significant improvement in the very good category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of smartphone use on the listening skills of fourth-grade students at Kartika XIII-1 Ambon Elementary School. The method used is quantitative research with a correlational approach. The results show that smartphone use does not have a significant effect on the listening skills of fourth-grade students at Kartika XIII-1 Ambon Elementary School. The post-test scores did not show an increase compared to the pre-test, with a low N-Gain category. This indicates that smartphones are used more for entertainment than for learning. The questionnaire and observation results support the finding that smartphone use has a more negative impact on students' concentration and listening skills.
