<![CDATA[This experimental research aimed to know the effectivity of discovery learning in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population in this study were all students of VII grade SMP Negeri 23 Bandarlampung in academic year 2018/2019 which were distributed into eight classes. The samples of this research were students of VII E and VII F class which were taken by purposive random sampling technique. The design of this research was pretest-posttest control group design. The data analysis of this research used proportion test and Mann Whitney U test. Based on the results and discussion of the research, it was concluded that discovery learning was effective in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran discovery ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 23 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII E dan VII F yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji proporsi dan uji Mann Whitney U. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran discovery efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis.
