FAKTOR RISIKO PNEUMONIA PADA BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS TARUS KABUPATEN KUPANG TAHUN 2008

Abstract

Pneumonia disease has been known as a primary public health problem in the world, especially in developing countries including Indonesia. This research was is aimed to analyze some factors influenced to the occurrence of pneumonia disease on child under five years in the operational district of Public Health Center of Tarus The Regency of Kupang in 2008. Were Number of samples are 130 children, consisted of 65 cases and 65 control that was taken by using simple random sampling. Research result statistically indicates that were there are influence of nutrient status (p=0,000), OR=7,268), immunization status nutritional (p=0,004), OR=5,401), and room density of staying (p=0,000), OR=3,844) to occurrence of pneumonia disease. In addition, giving of exclusive mother milk pattern breatfeeding (p=0,273), OR=1,599) and kind of floor factors (p=1,000), OR=1,000) are not influenced to occurence of pneumonia disease. It is recommmmended that communities in operational distric of Public Health Center of Tarus increase should the nutient status and complete immunization for their children, and avoid their children from rooms which are high density of staying. For interrelated instantions are suggested in order to plan and carry out the promotive and preventive intervention models for controlling pneumonia disease.
