Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolism disorder characterized by hyperglycemia due to lack of production of insulin, insulin action, or in combination. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of MRA on the level of compliance in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in the RSUD Depok City. The Cohort prospective design study was conducted in August - November 2018 at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital with a total of 30 respondents. The subject of this study was one group pretest-posttest was given intervention in the form of digital MRA on their smartphone. The tools used are a Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire-24 (DKQ-24) to measure patient knowledge and Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8) to measure patient’s compliance. The data obtained was collected and analyzed using Microsoft Excel, Spearman test statistics. The results of this study indicated that there is no impact on the level of knowledge and compliance to gender, age, education, occupation and duration of DM. Based on the Spearman Test the Sig (2-tailed) value was 0.301 (p≤0.05), the knowledge is positively correlated with the compliance rate of 0.195 which has a low correlate level. Based on the results, the conclusions from the Medication Reminder Application were obtained to increase the patient’s knowledge and compliance of type 2 DM patients
