Abstract

In many Muslim countries, there are dynamics in political stability and security issue. This study examines the relationship between political stability and human development in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries. The political stability variable comes from the governance index published by the World Governance Indicator (WGI), which measures political stability, absence of violence, and terrorism. Secondary data on the Human Development Index (HDI) variable comes from the World Bank. This study analyzes 50 OIC member countries for 2003-2021 by employing the Granger causality method for panel data. The results show a bidirectional causality between the political stability index and the human development index in all OIC member countries. However, in countries with a very high HDI, the relationship between the two variables is unidirectional. In contrast, in the group of countries with a high and low HDI, the two variables have no connection.

Abstract

SMEs have a big role in the country's economy. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the condition of SMEs declined and needed solutions, especially related to funding. Equity crowdfunding for SMEs is a breakthrough business model that has begun to be studied by many researchers. However, research on equity crowdfunding in SMEs is still rarely done. Moreover, researchers have not specifically analyzed employee welfare in the maqasid shariah perspective which is a research gap. This study aims to analyze the concept of equity crowdfunding management and its impact on employee welfare referring to the maqashid shari'ah perspective which consists of 5 aspects, namely religious protection, protection of life, protection of mind, protection of offspring and protection of property. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis method. The data in this study are primary and secondary data, Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 5 SMEs from the food and beverage industry that had been registered at PT Santara Daya Inspiratama for the 2019-2021 period, which were randomly selected. And secondary data in this study is literature related to crowdfunding equity and maqasid shariah. This research results that the equity crowdfunding business model is a business model that overshadows the cooperation between investors and SMEs in capital. It is evident that in general crowdfunding has an important role in improving the welfare of SME employees. Specifically, from the 5 aspects of welfare based on maqasid shari'ah, it was found that there were 2 aspects that had not been achieved, namely the protection of the soul and the protection of offspring. As for the protection of religion, protection of reason and protection of property, SMEs have been able to carry out well with the encouragement of crowdfunding.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to show the opportunities and obstacles that exist in Islamic banking in the midst of the development of online loan-based fintech which is widely used by the public due to the ease of applying for loans. This is different from financing in Islamic banking in terms of submitting financing which is not as easy and fast as that offered by fintech. This research uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature study. From the data collected, researchers will compare the opportunities and challenges of Islamic banking in the midst of the development of online loan-based fintech. The results of this research indicate that the opportunity for Islamic banking is to be able to increase access to finance for the unreached public through collaboration with Islamic fintech, attracting, collecting and channeling funds at a broader level, and channeling digital-based Islamic financing. The challenges are in regulating and supervising fintech companies operating within the Islamic banking system, competition with conventional fintech that do not follow sharia principles, and the lack of public education about the differences between loans in Islamic banking and fintech online loans.

The purpose of this study is to find out the similarities and differences between government policies and Umar bin Khattab's policies in price fixing and to find out the factors of government failure in implementing cooking oil HTE policies. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative research library. The results of this study indicate that there are many similarities in government policies with Umar bin Khattab in setting prices. However, there are differences in terms of the target object that will benefit, the government is more inclined towards the benefit of consumers without providing feedback to producers. The cause of the government's failure to implement the HET for cooking oil is the difference between the buying and selling system of traditional markets and modern markets, the existence of panic buying from the public, and the hoarding of cooking oil by several parties.

Abstract

This research stems from the phenomenon of the still low market share of Islamic banking compared to conventional banking in Indonesia. The study aims to examine the factors influencing preferences for Islamic banking products using exogenous variables including knowledge, trust, and the quality of Islamic banking product services, as well as demographic characteristics (gender and education level) as moderating variables. The research method employs SEM-PLS and Multigroup Analysis, with primary data collected from respondents of Islamic banks in Tarakan city, North Kalimantan. The research findings confirm that knowledge, trust, and the quality of product services positively enhance consumer preferences for Islamic banking products. Gender and education level are not moderators in the influence of knowledge, trust, and product service quality on consumer preferences for Islamic banking products. These research findings lend support to the consumer behavior theory that elucidates the process by which individuals decide which product becomes their primary preference in decision-making.

Abstract

The size of the Muslim population in Indonesia and the demographic bonus are factors in increasing the halal industry. The halal industry in Indonesia covers not only the halal food sector but also other sectors such as Islamic finance, halal travel, halal fashion, halal cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and halal media end recreation. According to the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2022, Indonesia is still under the United Arab Emirates and Turkey and cannot become the world's center for halal fashion. Therefore halal fashion development model is needed so that Indonesia can compete with that country. This research aims to initiate a model of halal development in Indonesia. The approach used is descriptive analysis with secondary data. Research data was collected from books, articles, and reports published by relevant agencies, which were then reduced by data so that researchers could interpret the data collection results and conclude the research results. As for the results of research conducted on several sources, researchers found a halal fashion development model, where in this development model, the synergy of all elements is required, starting from the government, society (producers, distributors, and consumers), Islamic financial institutions, and research institutions and universities. to realize Indonesia as the center of world halal fashion. This synergy is needed so local people can look at halal fashion products produced by Indonesian designers. Not only importing products from abroad. Because domestic halal fashion products are no less competitive than products found abroad.

Improper financing management will cause many problems and will even cause the collapse of Islamic banks. In financing carried out by Islamic banking, there are bound to be many obstacles experienced, such as default constraints, problematic financing or other constraints, especially during the Covid 19 pandemic. To minimize the various obstacles faced earlier, of course, Islamic banking is required to have an accurate strategy to win market competition while minimizing the occurrence of problem financing. This study aims to analyze the strategy of PT. Bank Sumut Sharia Business Unit in increasing Multipurpose Financing (PMG). This research is a type of qualitative research. Obtained research results SWOT analysis results show that the company's position is in quadrant 1, namely supporting an aggressive strategy. This quadrant position is a very favorable situation, where the company has opportunities and strengths so that it can take advantage of existing opportunities. The strategy that must be applied in this condition is the SO (Strength - Opportunity) Strategy, which is a strategy that utilizes the company's internal strengths to take advantage of external opportunities. The S-O strategy is developed by combining strengths in the internal evaluation matrix and opportunity factors in the external evaluation matrix.
