Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive e-modules in the Multimedia Learning Course and to know the validity, practicality of the effectiveness of developing interactive e-modules in Multimedia Learning subject. This research method used Research and Development (R D), which focused on developing smartphone-based learning media, especially Android. The development model used the Alessi and Trollip development model, consisting of 3 stages: planning, design, and development. This research was conducted at Makassar State University with 45 students and one lecturer in multimedia learning. Interactive e-modules are used in multimedia learning courses to assist and facilitate lecturers in the learning process. Interactive e-modules were developed and validated by material experts and media experts, with the results of material validation obtained an average score of 4.9 (very valid) and media experts obtained an average score of 4.1 (valid) so that interactive e-modules can be tested in the field to determine the practicality and effectiveness with the results shown in the category of very practical and very effective. Based on the results found, it can be concluded that interactive e-modules are practical and effective in the learning process in multimedia learning courses at the Education Technology Study Program, Makassar State University

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to measure the links between compensation and work disciplines towards the teachers’ performance. Underlying the concept of Human Resources Management (HRM) education, this study investigates the effect of the two aforementioned variables on the teacher’s pedagogical approach, classroom activities, and teaching strategies using technology. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach, specifically a multifactorial design. The sample of this current study was 53 people. The data was gathered through test and questionnaires. The data analysis used was a descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that simultaneously the compensation and work discipline variables had a positive and significant effect on the teachers’ performance, and partially compensation and work discipline had a positive and significant effect on the teachers’ performance. The multiple linear regression equation is Y = 20.789 + 0.299X1 + 0.271X2. Meanwhile, the results of the descriptive analysis show that the variables of compensation, work discipline, and teachers’ performance are in a good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of family support to school engagement among adolescents in Makassar during online learning. One hundred and thirty-four adolescents aged between 14-21 years old were selected as a sample for this research using accidental sampling. The students filled out two instruments: the School Engagement Measure (SEM) and Family Support, adapted and modified). Data were analyzed by using the simple linear regression analysis. This study shows that family support contributes significantly to school engagement among adolescents in Makassar during online learning. The contribution of family support to school engagement is 17.7% (R2= 0.177; Sig = 0.000), while the rest of 82.3% are affected by other variables.

Abstract

Limited access to land transportation due to the lack of adequate road infrastructure in isolated and remote areas contributes to the high dropout rates of students in such areas. Therefore, the government always promotes road infrastructure development in these isolated areas, increases economic growth, and provides development access in other sectors, including the education sector. Education is not just an obligation as the discourse echoed by the government, but it should be a right given by the state to its people. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of infrastructure development inequality in isolated areas and the education sector, especially in increasing the dropout rates. This study uses a systematic literature review to investigate five writings. The data was driven using the assistance of  Ferreira Gignoux’s (2011) theory of inequality of opportunity. The findings show that the construction of road infrastructure in remote and isolated areas dramatically affects the distribution of education, including efforts to reduce the dropout rate of children. The forms of benefits obtained by building road infrastructure are easy to access for students to places of learning, easy access for teachers and educators to reach isolated areas, ease of procurement of school facilities and infrastructure, which has an impact on increasing the quality of education and finally can help the community's economy so that children can be financed so as not to drop out of school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare how students taught with Learning Strategies for Improving Thinking Skills (SPPKB), and expository learning strategies to write short stories. Additionally, it identifies differences in students' short story writing abilities between those with a high level of writing motivation and those with a low level of writing motivation. Additionally, it establishes the relationship between learning strategies and motivation for writing short stories in online learning. Diponegoro High School is located in the Asahan Regency. This research was conducted at Diponegoro Senior High School in Asahan Regency, with tenth-grade students as the research population. This is a quantitative study conducted using quasi-experimental methods. A Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design was used in the research. Instruments include treatment instruments such as syllabuses, lesson plans, questionnaires, and measurement instruments embedded in short story texts. The study's findings indicate a difference in the ability to write short stories between the treatment of learning strategies and motivation to write, and that this difference is mediated by an interaction.

Abstract

Plagiarism has become a stressful problem in the academic world. In higher education, students must write a scientific paper that is free from plagiarism. Many referencing styles are offered to enable the writers to produce the proper scientific works. This study aimed to produce a module on academic writing for English department students. The module focused on writing citations based on APA style references, including in-text citation, paraphrasing, and summarizing. It was a research and development study that involved fifth-semester students. The samples were selected purposively. The data were collected by using interviews, questionnaires, and tests to see the product's validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The data gathered were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the study results, it was found that the validity of the product showed a very high category (0.92). Practicality consists of three aspects, ease, efficiency, and usefulness, categorized very high at small groups (0.85) and field tests (0.87). The module's effectiveness was seen from the gain score, which is 0.4. This score indicated the medium progress made by the students after having the treatment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain students' interest in learning during their time spent online. The method used in this study is ex post facto quantitative research. The population of this study was approximately 307 students, which corresponds to the total number of PGSD fourth-semester students. This study's sample consisted of 40 individuals. A researcher gathered data via a google form questionnaire. The descriptive and inferential data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive and inferential. The study's findings indicate a 0.562-degree relationship between online study and student interest in learning. This is the degree to which a moderate correlation exists with a positive relationship. With a 0.05 significance level, the result of rcount = 0.562 from N = 40 and a 1% error level, it can be stated that rcount rtable. As a result of this survey, it has been determined that there is a correlation between online study and student interest-based learning. With a high degree of interpretation, the online study does not affect student motivation to learn.

Abstract

Using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in elementary school classrooms has been shown to positively impact students' learning outcomes. There are numerous ways in which PBL helps students learn in the primary grades. There is still a paucity of research from reputable national journals on PBL in elementary education for this review. Articles on problem-based learning and the basics of education were pulled from the indexed national education journal Sinta Indonesia as part of the literature review method. Based on the criteria, 16 articles were chosen from the results list. The literature review results show that the PBL model can have a positive impact in general. The research that has been done has improved and had an effect. Elementary school students have made significant strides in a variety of areas, including behavior, attitude, academic performance, and character traits such as initiative, responsibility, cooperation, and critical thinking. Because of PBL's similarities to early childhood education, it should be considered for inclusion there.
