Abstract

The ability of students to ask or answer questions from the teacher is generally not based on reasoning. Therefore, we need a way to help the development of student reasoning by using empowering thinking through questions (PBMP). Therefore, students gain knowledge from the teacher and are actively involved in the science learning process. This study aimed to determine students' science learning outcomes using the PBMP model with the assistance of the Inshot video. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The participants in this study were 70 students, with 35 for the experimental group and 35 students for the control group. The results showed that learning outcomes with the PBMP strategy were higher with an average score of 81.00 compared to conventional ones with 57.05. Meanwhile, the ANCOVA test results showed a significant difference between student learning outcomes using the PBMP and conventional models. Thus, the PBMP model combined with the Inshot video can be recommended for improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

With the implementation of video-based learning at RA Masyitoh, this study aims to analyze and examine the management of learning mood in early childhood through video-based learning. The researcher employs the qualitative case study method. This study comprised interviews, observation, and documenting findings as data collection techniques. The data analysis is carried out in stages, beginning with data collection and progressing through data presentation, reduction, and conclusion. The results revealed that learning mood management in early childhood through video-based learning was accomplished through the following methods: needs analysis, implementation design of video-based learning, assessment of video-based learning. According to this research, students' learning mood must be maintained for optimization and learning targets to be achieved in the classroom. Teachers must do their part to ensure that this happens. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding is needed to improve children's learning mood through various learning approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how to build network social capital through religious activities to improve character education. A qualitative approach is used to describe the religious activities carried out by the Banjar community. Interviews involving 15 sources a structured and conducted. Observations and documentation studies were carried out in Basirih and Mantuil sub-districts. Miles and Huberman's analytical technique model reduces research data from interviews. The study results describe that in the Banjar community, a religious activity that has been carried out from generation to generation until now is known as Bahandil Yasinan (reading of Yasin among residents). Bahandil Yasinan is carried out by both men and women. Bahandil Yasinan in building linking capital network relationships is represented through administrators, members, and participants who discuss social issues at each meeting. This problem is not only limited to material activities but also outside the context of these recitation activities. Linking capital serves as a system of communication channels to protect and promote interpersonal relationships. Thus, the established linking capital is able to increase emotional closeness between the Banjar community.

Abstract

Technology has become an unavoidable part of education and must be used. The purpose of this study was to obtain the need for digital learning media for reading comprehension English classes. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that was conducted using a survey method. The participants were students (38 boys and 22 girls) and 2 teachers. Data collection techniques are documents, observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis consists of three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used expert judgment. The results of the study concluded that digital learning media had not been used comprehensively by teachers and students during online teaching and learning activities. From the results of data analysis, the digital learning media needed varies according to the function or role. For online discussion activities, you can use the zoom or google meet. Delivering material and assignments are LMS, google classroom, social media, reading sources are learning websites and electronic textbooks, exercises using online or manual, and communication processes using WA groups.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing digital learning models using MOOCs in practical courses at universities using the Rasch Model. This research is part of Research and Development (R D) research but is only limited to the needs analysis stage. The population taken in this study were all undergraduate students at IAIN Curup. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with a total sample of 69 students from 17 study programs. The method used for data collection is a questionnaire. The instrument used in this research is a questionnaire on the need for developing a digital learning model using MOOCs in practical courses at IAIN Curup. The results showed that the quality of the student response questionnaires to the digital learning model using MOOCs in this practical course was very good. The results of the analysis of the respondents and the questionnaire items showed that the majority of respondents agreed with all the questionnaire items given, which means they agreed to do the model development digital learning using MOOCs in practical courses. These results can be used to support the implication of learning MOOCs in practical courses.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between facilities and instructors' perceptions of their ability to develop instructional media during a pandemic. This study employed a quantitative approach through the use of a survey. The sample size for this study was 154 elementary school teachers drawn through a purposive sampling technique from Pelalawan and Rengat districts. The data were gathered via a survey administered over WhatsApp and analyzed descriptively and inferentially using SPSS version 26. The findings indicated that all fundamental support facilities for online learning were met 100 % of the time, interactive learning media facilities were met 48.7 % of the time, and assistive devices for students were met 58.4 % of the time. Additionally, 60.4 % of teachers frequently create learning media on their own, 45.5 % frequently generate media independently, and 42.9 % frequently use online learning media. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient calculated between facilities and teachers' abilities indicated a significant value of 0.0000.05. As a result, it is possible to conclude that there is a positive and significant association between facilities and the teacher's opinion of their ability to produce instructional media.

Abstract

Retention is the key to the success of a learning program. Several studies have shown that retention can be influenced by metacognitive skills, critical thinking, cognitive learning outcomes, and applied learning models. Meanwhile, testing the relationship between the three factors mentioned above and retention is only done using simple and multiple regression with two factors. This correlational study was conducted to determine the relationship between three factors, namely metacognitive skills, critical thinking, and cognitive learning outcomes on retention in students taught by RQA and QASEE learning models, as well as conventional learning. A total of 107 pre-service teachers of Biology Education students in South Sumatra, Indonesia, were involved in this study. The results showed a relationship between metacognitive skills, critical thinking, and cognitive learning outcomes with retention in students who were taught the RQA learning model. However, in the QASEE learning model and conventional learning, this relationship was not found. Thus, it can be concluded that more than two factors affect retention. Then, applying the appropriate learning model also influences the success of a learning program. Finally, conventional learning that only emphasizes efforts to get students to pass the exam must be abandoned immediately.

Abstract

To support the Government's program to produce entrepreneurs, FTI UAD implements entrepreneurship education. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of entrepreneurial knowledge obtained from entrepreneurship education, either directly or through the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) component, in the form of attitudes and perceived behavioural control. The study was also to determine the effectiveness of TPB in describing the entrepreneurial intentions of FTI UAD students. The sample used was 205 undergraduate students who had taken entrepreneurship courses. Data was collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis used linear regression and path analysis. The results showed an indirect effect of entrepreneurial knowledge on entrepreneurial intentions through attitudes and perceived behavioural control. However, knowledge does not have a direct impact on entrepreneurial intentions. The study results prove that the TPB model to describe entrepreneurial intentions is quite good, with the magnitude of the coefficient of determination reaching 58.1%.
