Abstract

PT Nesinak Industries is a manufacturing company that produces rubber parts products. One of its productsis a rubber roller for printers. During the production process, several types of defects were found. In theperiod 2018 – 2020, there is a 1.7% defect in total production. Of course, there is a gap between the actualconditions and the company‘s expectations to reduce the level of defects to zero. For this reason, it isnecessary to carry out quality control to reduce the level of defects. In this study, attribute control chartsare used as a quality control tool based on the number of defects that occur in rubber roller products. Inaddition, to find out the dominant defects and the focus of improvement, the pareto diagram can be used.Furthermore, with a fishbone diagram can be known the causes of defects. The dominant type of defect isfound in the type of hole defect. Based on the results of the attribute control chart, in the rubber rollerproduction process, several are not under control and need to be repaired. Furthermore, the factors thatcause the product to have defects are human, machine, method, and material.

Abstract

Nowadays, sport is not only a necessity but also a lifestyle. Sport is not only done outdoors but can also bedone independently indoors. One exercise that is easy to do independently is calisthenics. In general, calisthenics can be done with a tool called a parallette. Parallette equipment manufacturers currently stilluse wood materials and conventional production processes and do not have product variations. A potentialproduction process that can be adapted to make parallette equipment is additive manufacturing 3D printerswith PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament material. The process is carried out through several stages: 3D design, printing using a 3D printer, assembly, and finishing. The production process of a parallette tool with a 3Dprinter takes a standard time of 3123.02 minutes. The longest time occurs when printing with a 3D printerfor grip parts (2 parts) and parallette legs (4 parts). The gross production cost for a set of paralletteequipment is Rp. 101,327. Production of calisthenic equipment with PLA (Polylactic Acid) filamentmaterial using a 3D printer can be used as an alternative to replace wood-based parallette products withconventional manufacturing processes. Sports equipment manufacturers can also use this product as achoice and variety offered to customers.

Abstract

Customer satisfaction is one of the company's benchmarks in maintaining product quality. One of the most demanded types of non-automatic pumps is the PS-128 BIT. Water pump problems that occur because the percentage of defects are still above the company's desired tolerance. The tolerance given by the company is 3%, but the percentage of defects received by the company is 5.93%. This percentage is obtained based on the average percentage of disability in five months (July – November 2021). Furthermore, the company needs to make improvements to the quality of the pump product. The purpose of the research is to minimize product defects to improve product quality and can meet customer satisfaction. The method used is six sigma. The results of the study identified that there are two types of defects that are dominant in pump products, namely leaking mseal and leaking o-ring. The calculation of value defect million per opportunity was obtained at 51,000 and converted into a sigma rate of 3.135 where this value can still be increased so that the level of defective products is reduced. Actions that can be taken to overcome leaky mseal include using a mseal part inspection checklist and leaky o-rings can be handled using tools such as air duster guns. This tool is used to help clean parts regularly to ensure that the part is clean and can be done to the next stage of the production process. This proposed improvement has been implemented with the final result of the sigma level increasing by 3.262.

Abstract

Work productivity can be influenced by body posture or attitude when workers do their work and theconditions of the work environment are less ergonomic. PT. XYZ is an organization participated in theTruck Body industry. Assembling workers at XYZ Company still uses human labor in the welding processor cutting the component assembly process. Jobs with less ergonomic positions can cause fatigue toworkers and are at risk of causing Musculoskeletal Disorders. This study expects to decide the degree ofwork injury in Assembling laborers and is expected to be a recommendation for companies to improvework station conditions. The information taken is as photographs while Assembling laborers go about theirresponsibilities. The review was directed utilizing the Nordic Body Map interview technique, theconsequences of the survey showed grievances to laborers with average score of 63.3. Based on the risklevel classification table, the score is categorized as moderate and needs to be improved. Then furtherinvestigation was done utilizing the REBA and RULA strategies to decide the state of the specialist's bodyact while going about his job. The consequences of the review show that the REBA estimation of thestance of Assembling laborers has a high gamble and requires changes. With respect to the aftereffects ofthe computation of RULA for laborers in the Assembling part of XYZ Company is classified as moderateyet in addition not excessively unsafe and remedial move can be made.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in the furniture industry, the products produced are various, one of which isthe Yamato folding chair. Yamato folding chairs are the most produced products, the production process ofYamato folding chairs consists of three processes, namely the construction process, the nickel chromeplating process, and the assembly process. In this study, the researchers focused more on the nickel chromeplating process because the most defects were in this process based on historical data from July 2020 toDecember 2021. The nickel plating process also has many types of defects including streaks, burns, yellow, and so on. Nickel chrome plating process is a metal deposition process on the surface of a metal or nonmetal electrolytically. In the analysis of the problem there is a process that is not fulfilled using the Ishikawadiagram, 5 whys analysis, and FMEA it is known that the influential factor is the incompatibility of pH levels,to correct these problems, a tool is designed. The method used for the design of the tool is the QFD (QualityFunction Deployment) method. QFD is a way to improve the quality of products and services byunderstanding each consumer's needs, then connecting them through technical aspects to produce productsor services that suit consumer needs in each manufacture product or service produced. The results of thisstudy are a tool to monitor pH levels so that they are in standard conditions. With the design of a monitoringtool for pH levels, it is expected to minimize defects that occur in the coating process.

Abstract

T ABC is a start-up company that provides an online shopping platform with a variety of daily necessities, one of products offered is Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). The main problem faced by PT ABCwas the total inventory cost that exceeded the budget by 82%. This was caused by the lack of standardinventory policy calculation. To overcome this problem, a proposed inventory policy needs to be designedto obtain the optimal value of reorder point, order quantity, and safety stock. Before designing the inventorypolicy, inventory classification was conducted using ABC analysis. Then proceed with designing inventorypolicy using the continuous review method (r, Q) to minimize total inventory cost. After that, a DecisionSupport System (DSS) was designed based on the results of the proposed inventory policy using MicrosoftExcel-VBA. This research resulted the optimal value of reorder point, order quantity, and safety stock wereobtained for 42 products in category A with diverse values. Based on the proposed inventory policy, the totalinventory cost decreased by 11% or Rp281.770.103/year from the existing total cost. Then, the DSS wassuccessfully designed to assist decision makers in implementing the proposed inventory policy. Although ithad been successfully minimized, the total cost of the proposed inventory still exceeded the budget. Thiswas because the current budget had not considered all components of inventory costs, even the budget forpurchasing costs with an order quantity of as much as the number of demands was not sufficient.
