Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an agent of change in marketing communication and in the creative industries. This study explores the growing role of AI in content personalization, marketing automation, and consumer data analysis. Beyond its various advantages, the application of AI can also be problematic, for instance, about data privacy and ethical concerns, as well as human-centered innovation, that influences creative thinking and practices across a range of domains. The objective of this paper is to explore how AI has influenced marketing communication strategies; to call attention to the most likely difficulties to be faced with its implementation in creative industries. From a qualitative approach, data were gathered from interviews with marketing professionals of innovative companies and by analyzing relevant documents. The findings demonstrate the potential for marketing AI based on automation, content customization, and real-time data analysis. However, the topics of data privacy, marrying technology with human creativity, and the necessity for a specific kind of training are still big hurdles. The findings indicate that firms need to integrate AI and creativity for constructing an efficient marketing strategy.

Digital transformation has brought significant changes in Public Relations (PR) practices, including the emergence of the phenomenon of AI influence that is influencing the way organizations build relationships with the public. This study aims to explore the role of AI influencers in PR communication strategies through a case study of Arbie Seo, one of the AI influencers active on social media. The method used is qualitative with a constructivism paradigm, involving eight informants who were deliberately selected, consisting of practitioners, academics, and PR students. The data was obtained through in-depth interviews and analyzed thematically. The results show that AI influencers play a strategic role in improving the effectiveness of communication with audiences through interactive, personalized, and data-driven approaches. However, there are obstacles in the integration between technology and the human element, especially in the context of empathy and credibility. Therefore, collaboration between human communication expertise and AI technology capabilities is essential to achieve a sustainable communication strategy. This research makes a theoretical contribution by enriching digital PR literature and emphasizing the importance of technological adaptation in the PR profession. Practically, the results emphasize the need for PR actors to be ready to respond to changes in the communication landscape due to the development of artificial intelligence technology.

This study examines the shift of crisis communication in the digital era by examining the role of digital news platforms in shaping public engagement. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through analysis of 65 documents from scholarly sources and digital media, as well as social media tracking with NVivo 12 Plus and Tweetbinder. The case studies focused on the MCCC's response to COVID-19 in Indonesia and the Gaza crisis for global comparison. The results showed three main findings: (1) public engagement tends to be passive, indicated by the dominance of reposts (82%), reflecting information fatigue, low digital literacy, and distrust of institutions, (2) the distribution of public sentiment is dominated by neutral to negative tones (48-68% neutral, 25-38% negative), as a consequence of institutional communication strategies that use deny and diminish rather than rebuild approaches, (3) scientific discourse is still centered on institutional strategies and responses, without accommodating the complexity of local digital culture. As a practical recommendation, this study suggests a data-driven, participatory, and empathetic crisis communication model, as well as the integration of real-time sentiment monitoring and an actionable and forward-looking two-way feedback system.

This study examines how Generation Z students experience multicultural awareness and navigate affective polarization in both everyday life and digital spaces. Using a Heideggerian phenomenological design, it explores how students emotionally respond to cultural, ethnic, and religious differences encountered in their social interactions. Participants were purposively selected from a culturally diverse university in Surakarta, Indonesia, and interviewed in depth. Hermeneutic analysis reveals that students often face emotional ambivalence, tension, and fatigue when engaging with pluralism, leading them to adopt strategies such as emotional withdrawal, selective silence, or ethical self-restraint. At the same time, moments of empathy, recognition, and relational openness emerged as meaningful turning points. These findings show that polarization stems not only from ideological cleavages but also from lived emotional experiences. The study concludes that fostering emotional literacy and ethical reflection is essential in preparing young people to engage meaningfully with difference in increasingly plural and polarized societies.

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) and child mortality rate in Indonesia are among the highest in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), ranking 7th out of 10 ASEAN countries. One of the contributing factors is complications during pregnancy and childbirth, in addition to economic, social, and psychological conditions. This situation leads to antenatal depression during pregnancy, highlighting the crucial role of midwives in providing holistic support. The current research investigates the role of midwives in pregnancy using therapeutic communication in tackling the phenomenon of maternal and child mortality. Results indicated that in the pre-interaction, orientation, working, and termination phases, the informants experienced different outcomes that further affected their self-efficacy about those stages.

This research examines the subjective experiences of Genshin Impact players in Indonesia, focusing on interactions within Facebook groups. It explores how group dynamics and moderation influence toxic behavior. By interviewing moderators from two Facebook groups, the study compares toxic behavior and moderation strategies, revealing that active, effective moderation reduces toxicity, while less oversight leads to increased negativity. The findings highlighted the crucial role of community management in shaping player interactions and online group culture. Beyond presenting practical implications for moderators and community managers, the study also contributed conceptually to understanding the relationship between moderation practices and online social behavior. It suggested that future research should involve broader and more diverse player groups to validate and expand these insights.

Community-based tourism development in Wanurejo Tourism Village demonstrates significant potential for enhancing well-being, preserving culture, and supporting local economic sustainability. This study aims to analyze communication barriers that cause disintegration in the Pentahelix collaboration for tourism development in Wanurejo Tourism Village, which serves as a buffer village for the Borobudur National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN). The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through Forum Group Discussions. The results indicate that despite the implementation of the Pentahelix model, optimal synergy and collaboration have not been achieved due to (1) a lack of communication accommodation, (2) overlapping roles and responsibilities among institutions, (3) unhealthy competition among tourism stakeholders, and (4) a lack of sustained involvement from the central and regional governments. This disintegrative communication negatively impacts the effectiveness of collaboration and community participation. This research suggests integration strategies that include enhancing inclusive communication, technology-based training, developing digital platforms, and policy reforms that support sustainable collaboration.

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of Quarter Life Crisis (QLC) in emerging adults. The research was conducted using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with several informants and analysis of relevant literature. The findings indicate that Quarter Life Crisis is a condition commonly experienced by individuals during the transition from late adolescence to early adulthood. Common symptoms include anxiety about the future, confusion in making major life decisions (such as choosing between continuing education or getting married), social pressure, and frustration due to social comparison with peers. The main contributing factors to QLC include intolerance to uncertainty, suboptimal personal growth, and low family functioning. Using a holistic-systemic model, the QLC experiences of each informant in this study are understood as a process of communication with the surrounding environment and self-transformation, through four phases: locked-in, separation, exploration, and rebuilding.

To date, negative sentiments toward the Chinese ethnic group in Indonesia still exist. Using a content analysis research design, this study attempts to analyze the effective communication strategies of the Instagram account @chinese_server in rectifying various negative sentiments toward the Chinese ethnic group. The results show that the account effectively deconstructs negative sentiments towards the Chinese ethnicity, including pro-PRC, exclusivity, non-nationalism, and atheism, through historical and social narratives packaged in short videos. The account can reach cross-ethnic audiences, encourage multicultural understanding, and facilitate a shift in attitude from ethnocentrism to ethnorelativism. However, resistance is still evident in the form of negative comments. This study is expected to contribute to the discourse on the role of social media in shaping public perception and multicultural education.
