Abstract

This research aims to analyze the responsibility of bus companies in Medan City for damage and loss of passenger belongings due to accidents and to evaluate its alignment with the perspective of Maslahah. The issue of bus company liability is often overlooked, even though it is regulated by the Road Traffic and Transportation Law Number 22 of 2009, and the one-sided bus ticket clauses often contradict the Consumer Protection Law, thereby harming passengers. The focus of this research is to assess the extent to which the bus company's responsibilities create a sense of fairness and comfort for passengers. This research employs an empirical juridical approach, utilizing qualitative data collection methods such as interviews and document analysis. The research results show that if a bus accident occurs due to the driver's negligence, the company is obligated to replace the damaged or lost passenger belongings in accordance with the applicable regulations. However, from the perspective of Maslahah, the responsibility of bus companies in Medan City does not yet fully reflect the concept of maqashid sharia, particularly in the aspect of property preservation (hifzh al-mall). The implication of this study is the need for regulatory revisions and stricter oversight by the government to ensure that bus companies' responsibilities align with the principles of justice and welfare for public transportation users.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the impact of the e-commerce application (Shopee) on the consumption behavior of the Bukit Martajam Village community, and to investigate this behavior from an Islamic perspective. The study employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing probability sampling and random sampling techniques, with a maximum of 80 participants. We analyzed the data using a simple regression test and SPSS 25 Statistics. The results showed that the use of Shopee has a significant influence on people's consumptive behavior, with a significance value (0.018) < 0.05 and a t-count value (2.413) > t-table (1.663). These findings indicate that the use of Shopee has an impact on consumptive behavior, and it is important to integrate Islamic values in consumption behavior to avoid negative impacts. Intensive use of Shopee tends to increase consumptive behavior in Bukit Martajam Village. In Islam, the principle of kesederhanaan strongly influences consumption behavior. Even so, Shopee makes it simple to fulfill needs. This study's implications suggest that we should teach Islamic values about wise consumption, encouraging people to avoid excessive consumption and strengthening their understanding of balance in daily life to reduce negative impacts like materialism and wastefulness.

Abstract

In the Semanggi 1 and Semanggi 2 incidents, serious human rights violations occurred. The DPR-RI decision was then challenged by a number of community organizations to the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN). This study aims to analyze the history of the Semanggi 1 and Semanggi 2 events, analyzing the Jakarta Administrative Court's decision Number 99 of 2020 concerning the cancellation of the DPR-RI statement on the Semanggi 1 and Semanggi 2 events, and terms of Fiqh Siyasah on the Jakarta Administrative Court's decision Number 99 of 2020 concerning the cancellation of the DPR-RI's statement on Semanggi 1 and Semanggi 2. Then this scientific work research uses normative juridical research methods, namely research based on secondary data sources including primary legal materials in the form of laws and regulations (statute approach) and secondary legal sources with library materials, such as books, scientific articles and journals. The results of this study show that in Decision Number 99 of 2020, the Jakarta State Administrative Court annulled the DPR-RI Decision with the consideration that the DPR-RI had made a mistake in assessing the Semanggi I and II events as not being gross human rights violations. Then the Jakarta State Administrative Court Decision Number 99 of 2020 did not emphasize the suitability in the context of fiqh siyasah. In the concept of fiqh siyasah, the decision of the Jakarta State Administrative Court Number 99 of 2020 does not fulfill the principles of Justice (Al-Adl) and Legal Certainty (Al-Yaqin). This research emphasizes the need for fair law enforcement and legal certainty to deal with human rights in Indonesia, especially in the events of Semanggi 1 and 2.

Abstract

The “Marriage Is Scary” trend reflects doubts, fears or concerns about married life that are often publicized through personal or reflective content on social media. The concerns often expressed stem from infidelity, domestic violence, marital unpreparedness, gender inequality, and poor conflict management leading to divorce. This study aims to analyze the da'wah strategy implemented by Medan's Nikah Clinic in dealing with the marriage is scary trend. The research uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with six program alumni, and documentation of activities at Nikah Clinic Medan, located in Medan City, North Sumatra. The data analysis technique was conducted by Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that Medan Nikah Clinic implemented a holistic education-based da'wah strategy, including: (1) organizing pre-marital lectures based on the integration of religious values and psychology; (2) involving professional da'i with interpersonal communication competencies; (3) establishing discussion forums and confidence-based matchmaking consultations; (4) outbound programs for character strengthening and partner cooperation; and (5) optimizing digital media for adaptive da'wah. This strategy is effective in building the mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness of prospective couples, which is reflected in the participants' narratives of increased self-confidence and decreased anxiety about marriage. This research contributes to enriching the study of da'wah strategies based on contemporary social phenomena and provides practical implications for the development of pre-marital education programs for the younger generation.

This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The main informants consisted of the Head of the KUA, Functional Islamic Religious Instructor (PAIF), and two community members. Secondary data were obtained from relevant literature. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the strategy of developing a sakinah family in the KUA of Medan Tembung Subdistrict is carried out through a combination of national programs from the Ministry of Religious Affairs such as Bimwin, BRUS, and BRUN, as well as an internal approach that emphasizes the value of worship, sharia legal consultation, and sustainable family assistance. Abstract

The transformation of digital media has changed the landscape of da'wah communication, encouraging da'i to adapt more relevant and participatory approaches. One platform that attracts attention is that blogs, although not as popular as mainstream social media such as YouTube or Instagram, still have the potential as a text-based and multimedia da'wah communication channel. This research aims to examine the use of blogs as a medium of Islamic da'wah by highlighting the form of interaction, content effectiveness, and communication dynamics between da'i and audiences. This study uses a qualitative approach to the case study method of three Indonesian-language Islamic blogs that have actively published da'wah content in the past year. Data was collected through analysis of blog content, in-depth interviews with blog managers and audiences, as well as participatory observations of the interactions in the comments column. Research shows that da'wah blogs serve as a dialogue space that allows audiences not only to receive religious messages, but also to provide feedback, questions, and discussions. The most effective types of content include practical worship articles, personal inspirational stories, and short video lectures. Two-way interactions and contextual message delivery increase audience involvement and their religious understanding. The study also noted significant challenges such as low comment moderation and the risk of unvalidated dissemination of religious information. The main contribution of this research is to affirm the blog's function as an alternative medium of personal, open, and needs-based da'wah, by integrating the Use and Gratifications theory in analyzing audience motivation.

Abstract

This study analyzed the communication management strategy of Baitul Muslimin Indonesia (Bamusi) in building a positive image of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) among the Muslim community of North Sumatra. The study used a qualitative approach to the case study method, involving in-depth interviews of 12 key informants—consisting of Bamusi administrators, local religious figures, and Muslim communities from various Islamic organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah as well as participatory observation and document analysis. The results show that Bamusi adopted three main strategies: a symbolic-cultural approach through religious activities, personal communication with religious figures, and dissemination of national narratives via social media. This strategy is effective especially in changing the perception of moderate Muslim groups, with 70% of informants stating that there is an improvement in PDIP image. This study emphasizes the importance of religious values-based political communication and its contribution to understanding symbolic framing and strategic communication in the context of nationalist and Islamic ideological relations.
