Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' needs for technology-based learning media at SMAN 11 Bulukumba as a foundation for developing interactive tools such as Edpuzzle and Baamboozle. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires distributed to Grade XI students. The results indicate that the majority of students are not yet accustomed to using interactive media; however, they demonstrate strong enthusiasm for technology-integrated learning. Students expressed a preference for learning media that support interactive features, independent access, and the presentation of content that is engaging, contextual, and relevant to their needs. These findings highlight the importance of developing technology-based learning media that are adaptive, participatory, and aligned with students’ characteristics and learning preferences.

Abstract

Pre-reading skills are the initial skills in recognizing letter symbols, understanding the relationship between sounds and letters, and building a foundation for literacy before children learn to read formally. Introducing reading for early childhood requires a fun and engaging method to understand the letters, numbers, or symbols being presented. An educator can use many methods to develop aspects of early childhood language development so that children do not get bored easily. Based on initial observations conducted by researchers at SPS Dahlia 79 Kalisat-Jember, some children still have difficulty recognizing the alphabet and numbers, distinguishing initial sounds, and are less interested in activities related to reading. This phenomenon emerged during the learning process in class, where when the teacher sang the alphabet symbols "ABCDEFG", students were interested in following until the end of the song. However, when the teacher sequenced the letters manually (without using songs or notes), what happened was that students felt confused by the symbols rather than the alphabet itself. Teachers in early childhood education, especially at SPS Dahlia 79 Kalisat-Jember, need to use a fun and character-appropriate approach to develop pre-reading skills indirectly and naturally. Teachers in PAUD, especially at SPS Dahlia 79 Kalisat-Jember, need to use a fun and character-appropriate approach to develop pre-reading skills indirectly and naturally. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) where according to classroom action research it can be defined as a form of scientific and methodical study or activity carried out by teachers/researchers in the classroom using actions to improve the learning process and outcomes. The population in this study were Early Childhood (both boys and girls) at SPS Dahlia 79 in Kalisat District. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively (percentage of completion per cycle). In cycle I, the achievement of pre-reading skills of children aged 4–5 years at SPS Dahlia 79 was still limited: only 27% (4 out of 15) children were in the Very Well Developing category, the rest were in Developing According to Expectations (20%), Starting to Develop (47%), and Not Yet Developing (7%). Children generally cannot name 10 letters correctly, matching letters to pictures, and constructing simple syllables independently. Obstacles identified included low media interest, minimal active practice, and a lack of individual support. Meanwhile, in cycle II, results showed that 80% of children (12) achieved the Very Good Development category and 20% achieved Development as Expected, with none in the bottom two categories. Children were more confident, active, and able to name letters, match them to pictures, and construct syllables such as "IBU," "UBI," and "ABI" independently.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of the dakon game using natural media on the social and emotional development of early childhood children at KB Lativiyah. The background of this study is the emergence of social and emotional problems in children, such as difficulty in collaboration, lack of self-confidence, irritability, and reluctance to interact with peers. The dakon game, as a traditional game, was chosen because it contains educational values that can stimulate social skills and manage children's emotions in a natural and fun way. This study adopted a quantitative approach with an experimental design of one group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of 25 male and female students at KB Lativiyah, with a purposive sampling technique of 12 children taken. Dana P. Turner (2020) stated that purposive sampling is used when researchers want to focus on individuals who have certain characteristics relevant to the research interest. Data collection was carried out by observing social and emotional development compiled based on the STTPA indicators in Permendikbudristek No. 17 of 2023. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test due to the ordinal scale of the data. In this way, the dakon game using natural media can be a good alternative learning strategy to stimulate the social and emotional development of early childhood. This study recommends that early childhood education teachers more routinely use traditional games as elements of relevant and meaningful learning. This study produced outputs in the form of increased understanding and concrete evidence regarding the effectiveness of the traditional dakon game made from natural materials as a means to stimulate the social and emotional development of early childhood. Using quantitative methods and a pretest-posttest design, this study revealed that the dakon game can improve several important aspects of children's social and emotional development, such as collaboration, sharing, waiting for turns, and recognizing and managing emotions in a positive way. The dakon game, which utilizes natural materials such as wood and seeds, also provides educational value and fosters a love of the environment. In addition, the practical results of this study are a guide to implementing the dakon game in early childhood education environments, which can be used by teachers as a thematic learning option rooted in local culture. The results of this study are expected to be used by early childhood education institutions to design contextual learning models that are fun, affordable, and support the achievement of development according to the STTPA (Standard Level of Child Development Achievement) indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) how is the interest in reading, 2) how is the skill of writing narrative essays, and 3) how big is the relationship between interest in reading and the skill of writing narrative essays of fourth grade students at SDN 92 Singkawang. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlational research design. The population in this study were fourth grade students of SDN 92 Singkawang. In this study there were 28 students used as research samples. Data collection techniques used non-test techniques and test techniques. Data were analyzed using a correlation test with a level of 0.05 and looked for variable contributions. The results of the study showed that 1) interest in reading, 2) skills in writing narrative essays, and 3) the relationship between interest in reading and students' skills in writing narrative essays there is a significant relationship (correlation) between interest in reading and students' skills in writing narrative essays. With a correlation coefficient of 0.415 which means it has a moderate relationship based on the correlation level. Interest in reading has a contribution of 17%. The implications of this study indicate that there needs to be an effort to increase students' interest in reading so that it can have a positive impact on narrative essay writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model in breaststroke swimming learning for students at SMKN 1 Rengasdengklok. This study uses an experimental method with a quantitative approach. The research design used is Pre-Experimental Design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample was selected using a systematic sampling technique. The instrument used was a breaststroke swimming ability test given before and after treatment. The pretest results showed an average value of 42.11, while the posttest results increased to 62,62. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a paired sample t-test, and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05. (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted. These results indicate that the Problem Based Learning model has a significant effect on improving students' breaststroke swimming ability.

Abstract

The Border Crossings of Indonesia (PLBN) Skouw is one of the main gateways of Indonesia that shares a direct border with Papua New Guinea. To uphold the functions of supervision and maintain national security, the Directorate General of Immigration implements the Border Control Management (BCM) system as the primary instrument in immigration checks. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of BCM usage at PLBN Skouw in the context of immigration functions, namely the supervision of foreigners and guarding against cross-border threats. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a documentary study approach and regulatory analysis, supported by secondary data from relevant agency reports. The research results show that the BCM system has supported the efficiency of the inspection and monitoring process of border crossers through the integration of biometric data and facial recognition systems. However, challenges were found in network infrastructure, human resource readiness, as well as the use of unofficial routes by local communities. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance technical capacity, socialize with border communities, and strengthen inter-agency synergy in order to optimize the function of BCM as the main instrument for monitoring and protecting national sovereignty.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of teachers' professional competencies in improving student learning outcomes at UPTD SD Negeri 222 Wage, Sabbangparu District, Wajo Regency. The professional competence of teachers includes the ability to master subject matter, scientific structure and methods, as well as the utilization of learning resources to support the learning process. The approach used is qualitative with a descriptive method, through data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation of teachers and students. The research results indicate that the implementation of teachers' professional competencies at the school has been quite good, marked by the teachers' ability to master and deliver the material in a systematic manner and in accordance with the characteristics of the students. Teachers have also implemented scientific methods and utilized learning resources, although there are obstacles such as limited learning media and high administrative burdens, which affect the effectiveness of improving learning outcomes. The novelty of this research lies in emphasizing the importance of continuous support to enhance learning competencies and facilities, as well as managing administrative burdens so that the learning process can run more optimally. The recommendations proposed include the need for continuous training, the provision of adequate learning facilities, and the reduction of teachers' administrative burdens, in order to encourage more effective and sustainable improvement in students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' low understanding of geography, particularly the lithosphere. This is due to the continued dominance of conventional learning methods that do not actively involve students in the learning process. Students tend to be passive and struggle to understand the material because the learning does not align with their learning styles. This research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were students in phase E at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti in the 2024-2025 academic year, consisting of 10 phases with a total of 354 students. The sample in this study was phase E1 as the experimental phase and phase E4 as the control phase. Based on the t-test results obtained, the significance value was 0.025 <0.05, meaning Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the SAVI-based learning model has a significant effect on the understanding of geography learning among students in phase E at SMAN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of volleyball learning on the character formation of students and to ascertain the effectiveness of character formation through volleyball learning. This study employs an experimental method. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 TelukJambe. The population of this research consists of the tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 TelukJambe, totaling 358 students. The sample used in this study is Simple Random Sampling, comprising 5 individuals per class. The research design used is a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument utilized a questionnaire on the character formation of students. The results of this research show significant outcomes in the average results before and after the treatment.The average pretest score was 173.80 and the average posttest score was 182.78, indicating a significant increase. Meanwhile, the results of the hypothesis testing using the paired sample T-test with data obtained from the study showed a significance value(2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning there is a significant effect between the average scores before and after the treatment. It can be concluded that volleyball learning can influence the character formation of 10th-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 TelukJambe.

Abstract

The development of interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality is driven by the fact that technology-based learning media are not used enough in IPAS education, especially on abstract materials such as the changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors. This study aims to determine the development procedures, feasibility, effectiveness, and responses of teachers and students to interactive learning multimedia integrated with Augmented Reality on the material of changes in the earth's surface due to natural factors in fifth-grade elementary school. The research design uses a One Group Pretest-Posttest. The Research and Development study uses the ADDIE model, which has five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The feasibility test method uses a questionnaire evaluated by expert validators in content and media. Data analysis techniques used include normality tests, hypothesis tests, and N-Gain tests. The effectiveness test of using interactive learning multimedia showed that in the normality test, the pretest result was sig 0.002 < 0.05 and the posttest result was sig < 0.001 < 0.05 (not normally distributed). The hypothesis test (Wilcoxon) yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of < 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest. The results of the N-Gain test showed an average (mean) of 0.5708 (moderate criteria), and the N-Gain percentage was 57.0839% (fairly effective).
