Abstract

This research was conducted to provide insight into gender awareness in education. Particularly in the context of Indonesian language learning in primary schools. Through investigating the perspectives of parents, teachers and students as well as the practice of learning Indonesian in the classroom using non-discriminatory materials and learning environments without gender boundaries, this research seeks to contribute to building a more inclusive gender awareness in the educational environment. Survey, interview and observation methods of parents, teachers and grade 3 students were used to provide a comprehensive view of the understanding of gender awareness. The results show that although there is support for the concept of gender equality, parents' and teachers' understanding is still limited. Teachers do not fully understand the importance of gender awareness in learning. This issue is seen as not affecting inclusive learning. In fact, gender awareness is one part of it and teachers have a major role in building this perspective. Synergy is needed to improve parents', teachers' and students' understanding of gender issues in education. Teacher training and professional development, integration of gender equality values in the curriculum, and inclusive education for students can be the next steps to strengthen gender equality in education. Thus, this research provides new insights and contributions to advance gender awareness as a form of creating an inclusive learning environment, especially in primary schools.

The design in this study uses a Quasi Experimental design with the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The location of this research is at SD Negeri 007 Tebing. The sampling technique in this study is total sampling where all members of the population are used as research samples, so the sample in this study amounted to 33 fourth grade students of SD Negeri 007 Tebing. The data source used is primary data, namely the researcher went directly to collect data. Data collection techniques in this study are: observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. The research instrument used is a test instrument with a data analysis technique in the form of a t-test. Based on data analysis, the results of the study showed that: 1) There is an effect of using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on the learning outcomes of science in the material of changes in the state of matter in fourth grade students of SD Negeri 007 Tebing, with t count 6.97 t table 2.080. 2) There is an influence of the use of the Inquiry Learning model on the learning outcomes of science in the material of changes in the state of matter in grade IV students of SD Negeri 007 Tebing, with t count 4.00 t table 2.228. 3) There is a significant difference in the influence of the use of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) and Inquiry Learning models on the learning outcomes of science in the material of changes in the state of matter in grade IV students of SD Negeri 007 Tebing, with t count 2.564 t table 2.040.

Abstract

This research raises the problem of low critical thinking skills and student cooperation in science and science lessons in elementary schools due to learning that is not focused on students and the use of learning models is still lacking. This problem can be overcome by implementing a combination of learning models, namely the PERMATA model (Problem BasEd LeaRning, SAVI (SoMatic, Auditory, VisuAlization, dan Intellectually), dan Two Stay Two StrAy) and Wordwall Media. The aim of this research is to describe the improvements that have occurred in activities, critical thinking and collaboration skills, as well as the learning outcomes obtained by students. This research applies PTK research or classroom action research with fourth grade students at SDN Terantang 2 who act as research subjects. The method used is a qualitative and quantitative approach. The results of the research concluded that during the 4 meetings there was an increase in teacher activity with very good criteria, student learning activity increased from less active to very active, students' critical thinking and collaboration skills increased from less skilled to very skilled, and student learning outcomes increased. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the use of the PERMATA model and Wordwall media is effective in increasing activity, critical thinking and collaboration skills, as well as student learning outcomes. The results of this research are recommended as reference material for similar research in efforts to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.
