Abstract

Background: Insomnia is a sleep disorder in the form of recurring difficulties falling asleep or maintaining sleep, which can reduce brain function, growth, and development, disrupt body metabolism, concentration, and productivity, and result in many, accidents in adolescents. The prevalence rate of insomnia in Indonesia is 10% of the total population and the total population of around 28 million people who experience insomnia. The high incidence rate requires attention related to appropriate interventions for insomnia in adolescents. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to see how effective ablution or wudhu therapy and music therapy are for adolescents with insomnia. Methods: This research approach is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design, namely analyzing the effect of an intervention on the sample. A sample of 38 adolescents was divided into 2 (two) groups, namely the ablution therapy group and the music therapy group. The music used as therapy is classical music. Results: The results showed that ablution therapy and music therapy before going to bed were effective against insomnia in adolescents, but music therapy was more effective with p=0.001, while ablution therapy had p=0.007. Conclusion: The results showed that ablution therapy and music therapy before going to bed were equally effective against insomnia in adolescents, but music therapy was more effective than ablution therapy. It is recommended that teenagers with insomnia do ablution therapy or music therapy to overcome their insomnia.

Abstract

Backgrounds: An elderly group is a high-risk group for suffering from health problems, one of which is joint pain. Joint pain in the elderly will affect their quality of life of the elderly. One of the complementary therapies to reduce joint pain in the elderly is a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat). Objectives: This case study aims to determine the effect of a Combination Therapy of Acupressure and Warm Compresses (Aku-SeHat) to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Methods: The research method uses a case study design. The sample used was 3 elderly with inclusion criteria belonging to having complaints of knee joint pain in the category of severe pain (scale 7-10) and being able to participate in therapy with predetermined procedures and time. Aku-SeHat therapy is carried out 7 times in 7 days for 30 minutes. Univariate data analysis is presented in the frequency distribution while bivariate analysis uses the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly with the Wilcoxon test results obtained a p-value of 0.0001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: The results of the case study showed that there was a significant effect of giving Aku-SeHat therapy to reduce joint pain in the elderly. Therefore, it is hoped that Aku-SeHat therapy can be an alternative to complementary therapy as a nursing intervention to reduce joint pain.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety is the psychological state of a person who is worried and afraid of something that has not happened yet and is a sign that helps the individual to prepare to take action in the face of a threat. The level of anxiety in mothers can affect vaccination status and contribute to the uneven distribution of children getting the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine target for older children's schools is 26.5 million, and the current COVID-19 vaccine achievement rate for school-age children is 15 million (56.6%) with complete vaccination status. This shows that 11.5 million children (43%) are still not fully vaccinated against COVID-19. One of the causes is maternal anxiety about the COVID-19 vaccine. Objectives: This study was to identify the relationship between anxiety levels Mothers with COVID-19 vaccination status for school-age children at Public Elementary School Cipageran Mandiri 2. Methods: analytical survey research methodology with cross sectional design, research sample a total of 237 respondents with simple stratified random sampling. Data collection techniques use questionnaires in the form of google forms. Data analysis with chi-square test statistical application. Results: The results showed that 65% of mothers did not experience anxiety about Covid-19 vaccination. The covid-19 vaccination status was obtained, and most had a complete covid-19 vaccination status of 73%. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was a relationship between the level of maternal anxiety and the status of Covid-19 vaccination in school-age children at Public Elementary School Cipageran Mandiri 2 with a value of p = 0.000. Conclusion: COVID-19 vaccination status in children is related to maternal anxiety in responding to the importance or absence of the COVID-19 vaccine. This is because 27% of children still have not been vaccinated, where vaccination is mandatory to reduce COVID-19 morbidity and mortality.

The researcher first gave question as pre-test data and then given intervention in the form of education using video media, counselling and intervention leaflets for 3 meetings then carried out the post-test again. The population is the 8th grade students of SMP Advent Bandar Lampung. The statistical test used is the parametric test (Dependent paired T-test). Results: The result of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes before and after the intervention was given with a sig value of 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the effect of balanced nutrition education on knowledge and attitudes. Through video media, counselling, and leaflets can be recommended as effective communication media because they can contain a lot of information about educational materials.

Abstract

Background: Excessive use of computers and smartphones can cause complaints of dizziness and watery eyes. if it happens continuously, it will be harmful to eye health. Objectives: The study aimed to examine the relationship between the use of computers and smartphones with a decrease in visual acuity. Methods: The study was correlational with a cross-sectional design involving 65 students and selected by total sampling. Data collection about using computers and smartphones used observation sheets and measuring visual acuity by Snellen charts. The Spearman rank test was employed to examine the relationship between variables. Results: The use of computers and smartphones shows that in the high category as many as 10 (15%) respondents, 24 (37%) respondents in the medium category, and 31 (48%) in the low category. The results of the examination of visual acuity in the normal category were 4 respondents (6%), the nearly normal category were 30 (46%) respondents, and the less moderate category were 31 (48%) respondents. The P value (Sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 with α 0.05, so 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there was a significant relationship between computer and smartphone use with a decrease in visual acuity. Conclusion: The study shows that there was a relationship between the use of computers and smartphones with a decrease in visual acuity
