Abstract

This study departs from the difficulty of students in mastering geometry material and the results of the needs analysis on students who expect the presence of learning media that contain elements of games such as the game congklak This type of research is R & D with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Descriptive analysis is used to describe the results of CoMath media development using ADDIE development stages. The results of the material expert validation showed that the comath media obtained a percentage of 80% which was in the very valid category. While the results of media expert validation obtained a percentage of 74,55% which included the valid category. To assess the practicality of teaching aids seen from the results of the assessment of comath media from teachers and students. The percentage obtained from the teacher's assessment is 84.83% and the percentage of student assessment is 80%, both of which are in the very practical category. To see the effectiveness, it was analyzed from the results of observations during the trial and supported by the results of interviews with two VIII grade students. From the analysis, it can be concluded that the comath media developed is valid, effective, and practical

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the ideas of spatial skills activities in mathematics from tajin sobih culture. Spatial skills are one of the important skills used to help solve problems in the real world. Exploring spatial ideas in tajin sobih culture can be useful in learning geometry and mathematics. This research uses qualitative research methods with the researcher as a participant. The collection techniques in this study were obtained through observation and in-depth literature review. The data analysis technique used includes four main processes, including data collection through literature and documentation, data reduction, data presentation in the form of narrative text, and conclusion drawing. This research produced spatial skills activity ideas and mathematical ideas, especially in the field of geometry of flat and spatial shapes from the tajin sobih culture through the making process to the presentation process. Other mathematical ideas are number and measurement. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the shape of the tajin sobih container is hemispherical, the wooden ladle has a length that can be measured using standard units such as cm, tampah or woven basket is circular, and so on

Abstract

Mathematical representation ability is one of the important mathematical abilities for students to have because this ability plays an important role in students' ability to solve problems. This research is a descriptivequalitative research that aims to see students' mathematical representation skills in learning mathematical modeling using android-based learning media. The instruments used in this study were test questions in the form of mathematical modeling essay questions and interview guidelines. Students' mathematical representation ability was measured based on indicators of mathematical representation ability, namely visual representation, mathematical expression representation, and verbal representation. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the representation ability of students had a Very Good category of 63%, a Good category of 20%, and a Fair category of 17%. Students with Very Good category can do mathematical representation well as a way to help them in doing problem solving. Most of students in the Good category can make mathematical representations well, but still make a few mistakes in counting and understanding the problem. Most of students in the Fair category can make visual representations, but have not been able to do mathematical expression representations or verbal representations optimally.

Abstract

The conceptual understanding of comparative mathematics remains a significant challenge in elementary education, as students rely heavily on formulaic approaches rather than developing deeper comprehension. This condition highlights the importance of the role of teachers in assisting with learning methods such as scaffolding. This study aims to analyze the efficiency of the scaffolding method in improving students' cognitive aspects. Scaffolding can help students improve mathematics learning outcomes and mathematical problem-solving skills and improve the cognitive aspect applied to grade V students in one of the state elementary schools in the Pondok Kacang area. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation with data sources of a teacher and 3 grade V students in one of the State Elementary Schools in the Pondok Kacang area. The results of the study on the application of the scaffolding method to improving cognitive aspects in students in the context of learning mathematics ratio materials show that the application of the scaffolding method is efficient and effective; this can be seen from the improvement of students' cognitive aspects through assisting children in the early stages of their development, applying a multi-level approach, and efforts to follow the characteristics of scaffolding when there is an argument between students and teachers. The scaffolding method improves students' cognitive aspects by using motivational strategies and associating students' interests with learning assignments. Therefore, the scaffolding method plays a role in developing students' cognitive skills, especially in mathematics

Abstract

One of the abilities that students need to build when learning mathematics is problem solving ability, so that students can implement their mathematical knowledge. From the results of student tests in the previous year and exploring the problem, researchers found that the problem solving ability of students faced for Trigonometry material is analyzing problems, organizing ideas and solving problems. The purpose of this study is to describe how students' problem solving skills after experiencing learning with the Realistic Mathematics Education Approach (PMR) for Trigonometric Comparison material assisted by Geogebra. The research subjects were 31 grade X students in one of the private high schools in Bekasi city in 2024/2025. The data collection methods used were field notes, written tests, and interviews. The instrument validation technique used expert validation techniques, while to validate the data, triangulation techniques were used. The research results from the written test are as follows: (a) the most difficulties found for problems 1 and 2 were executing the plan to get a solution, and looking back at the solution process; (b) the most difficulties found for problem 3 were making a plan, executing the plan, and looking back at the solution process. From the interviews with five students, it was found that the most experienced difficulties were making a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution process; (b) the most experienced difficulties for problem 3 were making a plan, carrying out the plan, and reviewing the solution process
