Abstract

In the digital era, literacy transcends conventional reading and writing, encompassing the ability to understand, analyse, and produce meaning through various media. This research examines the influence of multiliteracy learning based on local Bima fiction texts with a multimodal approach to improve students' Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) through experimental research with quantitative design involving 60 students from MA Darul Hikmah, Bima Regency, divided into experimental group (30 students) and control group (30 students). The learning implementation was conducted for four months using HOTS test instruments and student perception questionnaires, showing significant improvement results in the experimental group with average scores increasing from 74.27 (pre-test) to 82.40 (post-test) or an increase of 8.13 points, while the control group only increased by 3.90 points with significant differences based on statistical tests (t = 8.98, p < 0.0001). Multimodal learning successfully developed students' analytical, evaluation, and creation abilities through various activities such as creating digital infographics and interactive multimedia presentations, with questionnaire data showing very positive responses with an average score of 52.07 out of maximum 60 (86.8%), proving that the integration of multiliteracy, multimodality, and local Bima wisdom is effective in improving students' HOTS and creating more interactive and meaningful learning.

Abstract

Proverbs are one of the cultural heritages that contain noble values and traditional wisdom passed down from generation to generation. In the era of globalization, the younger generation, especially in Dahadanö Gawu-Gawu Village, Gunungsitoli City, tends to ignore proverbs spoken in traditional Nias wedding ceremonies, due to a lack of understanding of their meaning. This study aims to analyze the types of meanings contained in proverbs used in traditional Nias wedding ceremonies, to preserve and revitalize cultural values among the younger generation. This research uses a qualitative approach using semantic analysis. Data were collected through interviews with traditional leaders and relevant books, and then analyzed through the stages of data recognition, coding, reduction, interpretation, and representation. The researcher used Geoffrey Leech's semantic theory which classifies meaning into seven types: conceptual, connotative, social, affective, reflective, collocative, and thematic. A total of 40 proverbs were identified and categorized. The results show that the most dominant type of meaning is conceptual meaning (31%), followed by connotative (29%), social (12%), reflective (11%), affective (9%), collocative (4%), and thematic (4%). The findings show that proverbs are not only rich in literal meaning, but also rich in cultural, emotional, and social values. This study concludes that semantic analysis is an effective method to reveal the layered meanings in proverbs.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the accreditation program for Pancasila Ideology Education and Training (Diklat PIP) providers conducted by BPIP. The evaluation employs the AEPM model, which analyzes four key dimensions: Context, Input, Activity, and Performance Monitoring. Data were collected from 46 respondents representing accredited institutions through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire. Descriptive analysis shows that the Context and Input dimensions received the highest scores, indicating strengths in program planning and institutional readiness. Conversely, the Performance Monitoring dimension obtained the lowest score, highlighting weaknesses in the sustainability of implementation and post-accreditation follow-up. Spearman correlation analysis reveals significant positive relationships among the dimensions, with the highest correlation observed between Context and Input (r = 0.795). These findings suggest that program success largely depends on the integration of design, implementation, and monitoring aspects. The study concludes that although the accreditation has progressed well in administrative terms, the substantive transformation toward sustainable implementation of Diklat PIP still requires further reinforcement. It recommends reform in post-accreditation monitoring and future research using a mixed-method approach to enrich program evaluation holistically.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how Jakartan Generation Z students utilize cross-platform social media and the dynamics of numerous identities and self-presentation techniques. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews with eight informants and social media account content analysis using a qualitative approach and case study methodology. Through the use of several accounts, content curating techniques, and the division of responsibilities between front and back stages, the results demonstrate that students actively control their digital identities. This occurrence demonstrates the applicability of Goffman's theory of dramaturgy in elucidating the performance of digital identities in relation to the audience and social milieu. There is a notable contrast between online and offline representations, as seen by the unique finding of one informant who portrayed himself as outgoing on social media but remained introverted in real life. According to the study's findings, Generation Z students' digital identities are strategic, dynamic, and reflective, with the goal of upholding both their public persona and their right to free speech. Opportunities for additional research to examine psychological and professional aspects in a wider context are presented by the study's limitations regarding the quantity and range of informants.

Abstract

The existence of the indigenous community in Meukisi Village is becoming increasingly concerning, because in recent decades this community has become vulnerable to change. In fact, the values of local wisdom have been deeply rooted and traditional in the lives of their ancestors. The approach in this study is qualitative using the case study method. Meukisi traditional leaders became informants. The researcher used techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques were carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The research found that the indigenous people of Meukisi have adopted yau as a guideline for their attitudes and actions. Yau has become a guiding star for the Meukisi indigenous community. The Meukisi indigenous community maintains and preserves yau through guidance and habit formation within the family and policies from indigenous institutions to provide guidance for the younger generation in indigenous activities that take place once a year. It can be concluded that, fundamentally, the existence of local yau wisdom values is dynamic because it adapts to the changing times, as it is able to survive in the face of globalization and is used as a means of strengthening the identity of the Meukisi indigenous community.

Abstract

The objective of this study was the development and implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI)–based digital assessment application to improve the quality of formative feedback for students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Nggusuwaru University. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which included needs analysis, design, development, limited implementation, and evaluation. Expert validation placed the application in the “valid” category (mean score 3.31), while practicality testing by lecturers and students produced a mean score of 3.20 (“practical”). Pretest–posttest effectiveness testing in two classes (n = 40) showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes (increase of 6–7 points; p < 0.05). The quality of formative feedback was also rated positively by students, with an average response time of 4–5 seconds and perception scores above 3.2. System log analysis during two weeks of implementation recorded an average session duration of 9–10 minutes, page load times of under 3 seconds, an error rate reduction from 4.5% to 3.8%, and uptime over 98%, indicating good system stability. Qualitative findings supported the quantitative results, showing that the application accelerated formative feedback but still required refinement of feedback language and performance optimization under low-network conditions. These findings indicate that the AI-based digital assessment application is feasible for supporting formative evaluation of PGSD students and has the potential for wider implementation in higher education.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing Canva-based Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) media, enriched with the local Patu Cambe culture, to enhance students' English speaking skills. The study addresses the problem of low speaking proficiency among students, characterized by difficulties in pronunciation, vocabulary, self-confidence, and a lack of engaging learning media. The proposed solution integrates TBLT with visual media like Canva and local cultural content to foster interactive and creative learning, thereby increasing emotional involvement and cultural identity. The research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The target participants are students from the English Language Education Study Program at STKIP Al Amin Dompu. The study demonstrates that combining task-based learning approaches with digital tools like Canva creates engaging and interactive learning environments that foster greater motivation, confidence, and fluency among students. The integration of culturally relevant content, such as Patu Cambe, serves as a mediational tool that not only facilitates language development but also strengthens students' cultural identity, making learning more meaningful and contextually relevant. The quantitative results support this, showing a statistically significant increase in posttest scores from 78.47 to 86.06 (p < 0.001), with a large effect size, indicating the effectiveness of this approach in improving speaking proficiency

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the munjung tradition in Javanese wedding ceremonies within the transmigrant community of Tegalrejo Village, Musi Rawas, South Sumatra. Munjung, a form of respect and invitation through the delivery of food, has undergone changes in form and meaning due to evolving times, economic conditions, and the impact of the pandemic. This research adopts a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model revealed three key themes: changes in the containers and contents of punjungan, rationalization of practicality, and the persistence of symbolic values in an adaptive form. Despite physical transformations, the social and cultural functions of munjung persist as symbols of respect and social bonding. This study enriches the understanding of cultural adaptation among migrant communities and emphasizes the importance of preserving local traditions in a contextualized manner. The implications include strengthening character education based on local culture, informing policies on cultural preservation, and providing direction for future research on symbolic and ecological aspects.
