Abstract

The location reviewed in this study is on Jalan Trans Kalimantan KM.12 Barito Kuala Regency precisely in front of the entrance direction of GIBS Junior High School, which is influenced by charity activities. This causes increased density and decreased vehicle speed, making the speed of vehicle movement slow. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research to find out how much influence it causes. What will be analyzed is both directions because they are equally affected by charity activities with conditions when there are charity activities and when there are no charity activities, requiring data in the form of LHR data and the speed taken directly at the research site. To find out these influences used conventional methods (Greenshield, Greenberg, and Underwood). From the results of the analysis, the model selected affected by charity in the direction on Handilbakti and the direction on Marabahan is the Greenshield model, and the model selected when it is not affected by charitable donations in the direction on Handilbakti and the direction of Marabahan is the Greenshield model, In each direction from the calculation results with conditions when there is a charity activities there is a maximum volume decrease of 18.53% from the Handilbakti direction, and from the Marabahan direction by 40.26%. The maximum speed in the Handilbakti and Marabahan directions has decreased by 59.71% and 61.40%, and for maximum density in the Handilbakti and Marabahan directions there has been an increase of 30.11% and 15.07%. LOS got from a degree of saturation > 0.8 when there was a charity activities in the direction at Handilbakti which occurred between 16.00  s.d. 18.00 WITA, and the direction of Marabahan occurs in the range of 15.10 – 16.40 WITA and the range of 16.30 – 18.00 WITA. Meanwhile, LOS when there is no charity in the direction of Handilbakti and Marabahan dominantly shows B level (66%) and C level (79%).  Keywords: Charity Activities on Street, Level of Service, Traffic Characteristics

Abstract

The denser an area is, the denser the traffic movement will be. When the vehicle makes a u-turn movement, it can cause congestion because the vehicle doing a u-turn causes the vehicle volume to get higher and the vehicle speed lower.   Jalan A. Yani Km. 35 in Banjarbaru city South Kalimantan province is one of the road sections that connect people to and from the city center.  The road has median and median openings to coordinate the u-turn movement.  This study aims to determine the performance of traffic that is affected by u-turn and not affected by u-turn.   The research was conducted using a field survey method that included traffic volume, vehicle speed and geometric road conditions. The method for analyzing data uses conventional methods (Greenshield, Greenberg, and Underwood models), and the best model relationship is obtained, namely the Greenshield model. From the calculation results of the Level of Service, for road conditions affected by the u-turn LOS the dominant E was 68% with a saturation degree value ranging from 0.88 – 1.00, which occurred at 16.00 – 17.30 CIT and 17.30 – 21.00 CIT.  Meanwhile, road conditions that are not affected by the u-turn LOS obtained  C of 72% with a saturation degree value ranging from 0.45 – 0.60.Keywords: Level of Service, Merger, Traffic Flow Characteristics, U-Turn

Abstract

The drainage canal development project discussed is one of the projects undertaken by the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of the City of Banjabaru. This drainage is located along Jalan Pramuka, North Loktabat. As a result of changes to the urban planning system in the city of Banjabaru, the work on improving the city's drainage system on the surrounding roads began. Many things cause an increase in the flow coefficient, which can trigger sedimentation in drainage channels and even runoff in the following years. The causes include the development and increasing density of the urban area of Banjarbaru and the bad habits of the people, such as throwing garbage in the canal. This research aims to redesign the drainage system in order to obtain a drainage network system that is more optimal in terms of environment, materials, and costs. This research was conducted by analyzing the design flood discharge at the location of the Banjarbaru City Urban Drainage System Development Project, calculating the existing drainage system calculation analysis, and evaluating a more optimal and economical drainage system design that could be suggested.Data analysis was carried out by hydrological analysis and hydraulic analysis. Furthermore, to process the data obtained, several calculation steps are carried out, such as processing daily rainfall data, frequency analysis, and discharge calculations. Through these calculations, the design discharge Qr 2 years is 0.0733 m3/second, Qr 5 years is 0.1075 m3/second, Qr 10 years is 0.3280 m3/second, Qr 15 years is 0.3599 m3 /second, Qr 20 Years of 0.3827 m3/second. The cross-sectional size of the box culvert used was 50 x 40 x 100 x 15 cm with a discharge capacity of 0.4148 m3/second, while the size of the masonry used was 30 x 40 x 40 with a discharge capacity of 0.4367 m3/second. Keywords: discharge plan, highway drainage, discharge capacity, runoff, channels
