Abstract

Malam Tirakatan is a local tradition that not only remembers history, but also strengthens social and religious ties, and promotes the values of togetherness and tolerance in society. This tradition can serve as a platform for bringing people of different ethnicities, beliefs, and races together for a moment of unity. People from various ethnic and religious backgrounds gather to pray together for the progress of the village, nation and state, showing a form of tolerance between religious communities. This study used phenomenological studies in which this paper tries to investigate how interfaith prayer activities in Malam Tirakatan can be a symbol of tolerance and religious harmony in Indonesia especially in Kediri Residents. Through this practice, it is intended to the younger generation can better appreciate and preserve the cultural heritage of the ancestors.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal how the values of local wisdom, especially in the context of religious harmony, contribute to the economic improvement of the resin plantation community in Pakel Village, Gucialit District, Lumajang Regency. Through a qualitative phenomenological approach, this study found that the harmony between religious communities in the village has given birth to a strong practice of mutual cooperation, which is reflected in the joint management of resin plantations. A work ethic that upholds justice and equality regardless of religious background has encouraged increased productivity and income of the community, especially for resin seekers. These findings show that local wisdom has great potential to become social capital in the economic development of natural resource-based communities

Abstract

This research explores the integration of Islamic values and local wisdom within Ruwahan tradition in Lamongan, a communal ritual held in the month of Sha’ban to honor ancestors and prepare spiritually for Ramadan. Through this tradition, Islamic teachings of compassion, respect, and communal solidarity are seamlessly intertwined with Javanese cultural customs, forming a harmonious blend of religious devotion and local heritage. By examining this integration, the research highlights the pivotal role of local wisdom in promoting peaceful coexistence and reinforcing Islamic values within diverse communities. Using an ethnographic approach, this qualitative research provides an in-depth understanding of Ruwahan ritual, its representation of Islamic values, and how it serves and functions as a platform for nurturing social harmony and tolerance. The findings reveal the tradition's significance and critical role in strengthening harmonious social bonds, alleviating tensions, and fostering mutual respect, tolerance, and hospitality across religious and cultural lines. They also underscore the importance of preserving and revitalizing local traditions like Ruwahan as essential vehicles for promoting Islamic values and cultivating harmony and tolerance in an increasingly pluralistic society

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Islamic values, nationalism, local cultural wisdom, and advanced technologies in promoting halal products in the 6.0 Era. By examining political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors, it highlights the role of robust government policies, ethical transparency, and digital innovations like blockchain and AI in enhancing consumer trust and market efficiency. The research underscores the significance of leveraging local genius, such as traditional art and cultural narratives, to foster authenticity and preserve heritage in halal branding. Additionally, it emphasizes eco-friendly practices in halal production, aligning with Islamic principles of stewardship and global sustainability goals. A holistic framework addressing these intersections ensures halal products remain competitive and culturally resonant while meeting evolving global demands. The findings demonstrate the potential of Islamic values to guide ethical practices and promote sustainable development in a technologically advanced and interconnected global economy.

Abstract

The Hadrah Dance tradition in Gresik Regency embodies a unique blend of Islamic values and local culture. Beyond serving as entertainment and cultural expression, Hadrah Dance conveys moral and spiritual messages. This study aims to reveal how the Hadrah Dance tradition reflects Islamic values and the local wisdom of the Gresik community in fostering social harmony and interfaith tolerance. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, the research explores the meaning, function, and role of Hadrah Dance in Gresik society. Data collection was conducted through direct observation of Hadrah performances and interviews with artists, religious leaders, and local residents. Findings indicate that Hadrah Dance acts as an effective medium for Islamic teachings, promoting values of brotherhood, peace, and respect for diversity. Additionally, it strengthens social bonds among Gresik residents of diverse religious backgrounds, symbolizing a harmonious blend of local culture and Islamic teachings. The study concludes that the Hadrah Dance tradition holds significant value in maintaining social harmony and tolerance within a multicultural society, underscoring its importance for sustaining social cohesion in an increasingly diverse modern era.

Abstract

Pesantren are growing rapidly and are among the most popular choices for learning to improve Islamic values in the digital era in maintaining social harmony. However, there has been no research on the reasons for walisantri in making decisions to choose pesantren as a place of learning for their children. This study aims to explain the motivational needs survey of walisantri (parents of students) in determining the choice of Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Situbondo pesantren in the perspective of McClelland's theory. The research method used a survey approach with cluster sampling of 613 people. The survey results showed a high score for the need for achievement of 4.69 or strongly agree and the need for belonging of 4.66 or strongly agree. This is consistent with the pesantren's slogan, "Mondhuk entar ngajhi ben ngabdhi (mondok to learn and do service)," which can mean mondok to learn to deepen knowledge and maintain social harmony. McClelland's theory shows that walisantri's need for achievement and belonging significantly influences their decision to send their children to pesantren. This research provides valuable insights that can help pesantren and other educational institutions meet the needs of parents and students, and increase the effectiveness and relevance of pesantren education in maintaining social harmonization. The research also contributes to the literature on pesantren and motivation theory.

Abstract

Ritual Rokat Bhumih di Bondowoso merupakan tradisi keagamaan yang kaya akan makna dan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan menganalisis makna yang terkandung dalam ritual ini, serta kontribusinya terhadap pelestarian lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif terhadap masyarakat lokal yang terlibat dalam pelaksanaan Rokat Bhumih. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ritual ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ungkapan syukur kepada Tuhan, tetapi juga sebagai media untuk memperkuat hubungan sosial di antara komunitas serta meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan. Melalui simbol-simbol yang terdapat dalam ritual ini, masyarakat Bondowoso mengekspresikan nilai-nilai keberlanjutan dan harmonisasi dengan alam. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan studi kearifan lokal dan praktik keberlanjutan di Indonesia.

Abstract

Sharia banking can significantly contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth. This article explores strategies to enhance sharia banking management through a community-based approach in people's markets. By leveraging local market potential, Islamic banks can increase community engagement, strengthen customer relationships, and develop tailored financial products. The research identifies various initiatives, such as financial education programs, collaborations with micro-businesses, and the creation of sharia-compliant financial products. A community-based approach can improve both internal bank management and local economic growth. The article recommends a community-based strategy as a crucial step to enhance sharia banking management in people's markets. It underscores the importance of collaboration between sharia banks and communities to achieve shared goals in sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The era of globalization is expected to be able to integrate all aspects of human life more easily with the development of technology, especially in the practice of religious moderation. This research aims to analyze the integration of local wisdom in moderate Islamic practices to build social harmony in the era of globalization. The research method used PRISMA 2020 systematic literature review, based on Google Scholar and e-resources of the National Library, 122 articles were found, but only 20 articles were analyzed. The results show that in the current era of globalization, Indonesia is not yet optimal to integrate local wisdom in moderate Islamic practices, and a life of social harmony has not been created comprehensively in Indonesia. Local wisdom and moderate Islamic practices shouldy synergize each other to create moderate social harmony, the role of various stakeholders; tribal leaders, community leaders, governments and communities who participate in each other.

Abstract

This article examines the integration of local wisdom values in Islamic education at Pesantren Tebuireng as an effort to build social harmony, using Pierre Bourdieu's Theory of Cultural Socialization as an analytical framework. Bourdieu emphasizes that educational institutions, such as pesantren, play a crucial role in the reproduction and preservation of culture through habitus, which refers to patterns of thinking, acting, and feeling shaped by the social environment. This study explores how Pesantren Tebuireng implements local values such as tolerance, mutual cooperation, and respect for cultural diversity in its educational process, and how these values are reproduced and preserved in the daily lives of the students. The philosophy of education at Pesantren Tebuireng, influenced by the thoughts of Hadratussyaikh KH Hasyim Asy'ari, plays a key role in shaping the habitus of students, enabling them to accommodate differences, maintain interfaith harmony, and contribute to social harmony. The results of this study show that education based on local wisdom at Pesantren Tebuireng not only strengthens the cultural and religious identity of the students but also contributes to creating a more tolerant and harmonious society amidst diversity.Keywords: Local wisdom, Pesantren Tebuireng, habitus, Pierre Bourdieu, social harmony, tolerance, Islamic education.
