Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors influencing stress in children with transfusion-dependent thalassemia. The method used in writing this article is a systematic review. This article was written using a database owned by the University of Indonesia through lib. UI is a website that facilitates students' search for literature. Eight databases were used to write the systematic review in this article, namely Proquest, ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Scopus, EMBASSE, EBSCO, Taylor & Francis Online, and SpringerLink, and used the "Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis Flow Diagram" (PRISMA) guidelines. The research results show that factors that influence stress in transfusion-dependent thalassemia children include age, frequency of transfusions, onset of chelation therapy, duration of illness, body image, self-confidence, complications of the disease, hemoglobin (Hb), and ferritin levels. In conclusion, factors that can cause stress in children with thalassemia can be complications of the disease, age, gender, and duration. Keywords: Pediatric, Stress, Thalassemia

Abstract

This research aims to show that purple sweet potato leaves can be extracted and made into ice cream to increase the adequacy of breast milk given to postpartum mothers. The research method used was True Experiment and Pretest-Posttest Design with Control. The study results showed a significant difference in the two intervention and control groups in the breast milk adequacy variable, namely baby weight p-value 0.000 and baby BAK (p=0.000). In conclusion, the ice cream intervention with purple sweet potato leaf extract for 14 days was effective in increasing breast milk adequacy compared to the control group. Purple sweet potato leaf extract had a lactogogum effect on postpartum mothers in stimulating breast milk production. Keywords: Breast Milk, Purple Sweet Potato Leaf Extract, Ice Cream, Postpartum

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of guided imagery in patients after total joint arthroplasty surgery. The method used is a systematic review using literature searches from 9 databases: PubMed, Scopus, Sage, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, SpringerLink, Cochrane, and ProQuest. Fifteen thousand seven hundred forty-eight articles were obtained from the initial search using keywords related to "Total Joint Arthroplasty,"; "Guided Imagery," and "Pain," but only five articles met the inclusion criteria for this study, namely adult and elderly patients after total joint arthroplasty, period 2021 - 2024, in English, full-text and open access. The five research articles showed that guided imagery significantly reduced pain after total joint arthroplasty. In conclusion, guided imagery effectively reduces pain in patients after total joint arthroplasty surgery. Guided imagery is used because it is easy to do, teach, and affordable. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of physical exercise on blood glucose levels and quality of life in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Methods This research uses a systematic review method referring to PRISMA guidelines. Research shows that physical exercise, especially a combination of aerobic and resistance, effectively improves quality of life and glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients. High-intensity exercise can improve cardiorespiratory fitness. The combination of vitamin D supplementation and exercise training has a synergistic effect in enhancing insulin resistance. Concomitant aerobic and resistance exercise is recommended for managing type 2 diabetes, with HIIT being an effective intensity option. In conclusion, physical exercise, especially a combination of aerobic and resistance, effectively improves the quality of life and glycemic control in T2DM individuals. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of integrating multiple oral motor stimulation interventions in facilitating the readiness for oral feeding among premature neonates.. A systematic review methodology was adapted for this inquiry. Extensive literature searches were conducted across prominent databases, including PubMed, EBSCO, Sage Journal, Taylor & Francis, Clinical Key for Nursing, and Proquest. A total of six articles, all randomized controlled trials, were selected and meticulously reviewed. The results of this systematic review indicate that the interventions employed include combinations of oral motor stimulation with supplementary nursing, kinesthetic tactile techniques, non-nutritive sucking (NNS), swallowing exercises, and sensorimotor stimulation. The findings suggest that these interventions are effective in enhancing oral feeding readiness by shortening the transition period to oral feeding and promoting breastfeeding fulfillment. Additionally, they have been shown to increase breastfeeding rates and reduce concurrently the duration of hospitalization. This research provides valuable insight for improving neonatal care and optimizing feeding practices. Keywords: Feeding Readiness, Oral Motor Stimulation, Premature Infants
