Abstract

Heavy metal pollution is a serious problem to environment in this time. Mercury is a dangerous wastes that make desecrate environment. So the restoration have to do to make a contaminated soil can reuse safety through fitoremediation process using Kersen. This study to analyze the reductions of heavy metal (Hg) in soil after fitoremediation process. The result of this study was showing that connections between degree reductions of heavy metal (Hg) in soil and adsorptions of Mercury (Hg) in Kersen that is concentration mercury in soil more high reductions than in the soil will following of higher Mercury concentrations in Kersen, in this study showing that adsorptions of Kersen in week – 1 after mercury treatment on a sample is in soil 6,80 ppm, root 1,14 ppm, leaf 0,86 ppm in week - 2 for soil sample is 7,31 ppm, root 3,73 ppm, leaf 4,64 ppm and for the last week in soil is 7,98 ppm, root 0,07ppm and leaf is 0,78 ppm. From that result showing Kersen (Muntingia Calabura L) is a accumulator plant and this plant can using for hyperaccumulation because the value of BCF and TF in day 14 or week – 2 is > 1.

Abstract

The Electrokinetic Remediation process for soil using 2-D hexagonal electrode has been done with observing pH and concentration of heavy metals, such as Hg, Zn and Pb of soil before, during and after processing the electrokinetic. Results of research indicated that contents of soil in Hg metal ions were 1.088 ppm; Zn =0.135 ppm and Pb, 0.115 ppm. Concentration of the metal ions was different to each time because rubbish in TPA was also different. Process efficiencies for Hg were 24.78 %; Zn, 33.71 % and Pb, 10.13 %. Efficiency process of electrokinetic remediation was highly influence by distance of cathode and duration of remediation process. Closer distance from cathode, time taken for remediation process was shorter, also the opposite

Abstract

Analysis of fatty acid in ferment coconut oil and traditional coconut oil has been concluded by GC-MS. The result of analysis in ferment coconut oil yiels four kinds of fatty acid that are (1). Laurate acid (methyl dodekanoat) 39,13%, (2). Myristate acid (methyl tetradekanoat) 13,78%, (3). Palmitate acid (methyl heksadekanoat) 6,60%, and (4). Oleate acid (Methyl 9-oktadekanoat) 4,81%. While traditional coconut oil yiels five kinds of fatty acid, that are (1). Laurate acid (methyl dodekanoat) 44,83%, (2). Myristate acid (methyl tetradekanoat) 22,83, (3). Palmitate acid (methyl heksadekanoat) 12,82%, (4). Oleate acid (Methyl 9-oktadekanoat) 11,16%, and (5) Stearate acid (Methyl oktadekanoat) 3,90%. Stearate acid is none in ferment coconut oil because it lost used by khamir. Traditional coconut oil is better than ferment coconut oil in number and kind of fatty acid. But from the physic character like number of oil, time cook, and face, ferment coconut oil is better. Method made is influence to compound of fatty acid. In other research, it’s important to find the optimal condition procces for khamir fermentation. People may eat traditional coconut oil cos it have some fatty acid that important for human body
