Abstract

In English Language Teaching, the differences in technology integration between novice and experienced teachers may affect the effectiveness of English teaching methods, students’ engagement in the class, and overall students’ learning outcomes. This study investigated the differences between English novice and experienced teachers’ ICT knowledge and use level and challenges. Four novice and seven experienced English teachers working in different high schools volunteered in this study. The researchers employed a qualitative design using a questionnaire and an in-depth interview as research instruments The findings showed that novice and experienced English teachers were confident in accessing the Internet and using ICT tools. They were well-informed about various ICT tools and techniques for English teaching. The difference was that novice English teachers showed high confidence and innovatively used ICT, whereas experienced English teachers were uncertain and cautious, sometimes relying on students’ assistance and considering some aspects such as students’ backgrounds and familiarity with ICT. Both English novice and experienced teachers used ICT, including learning websites, search engines, educational games, and multimedia presentations for class discussions, student assessments, brainstorming, and group projects to make the class interactive. This study has implications for English teachers, educators, and future researchers.

Abstract

Although entrepreneurship education is essential in driving economic growth, there are still challenges in fostering entrepreneurial intentions among students. One of the main obstacles is the lack of understanding of how elements within the Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem (EEE) influence entrepreneurial intentions. Research Objective is to explain the effect of attitude, subjective norm, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurial behavior, mediated by entrepreneurial intentions and moderated by the Entrepreneurship Education Ecosystem (EEE). A quantitative survey was conducted with 286 students from Poltekkes in Indonesia, with data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) co variant. The results show a positive relationship between access to entrepreneurship support systems and increased entrepreneurial intentions among students, as well as the importance of EEE elements in shaping entrepreneurial attitude and self-efficacy. These findings provide guidance for higher education institutions and policymakers to strengthen entrepreneurship support systems to enhance students' entrepreneurial intentions. The study also expands understanding of the role of EEE in fostering stronger entrepreneurial intentions.

Abstract

This study examines the types of stress, sources of stress, coping strategies, and their impacts on school principals' leadership. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 325 elementary school principals in Garut Regency using a semantic differential scale questionnaire. Path analysis revealed that stress sources, such as workload, interpersonal conflicts, and limited resources, have a significant impact on stress outcomes, while stress types and coping strategies show weaker but measurable effects. Principals predominantly adopted problem-focused strategies, such as task prioritization and time management, and emotion-focused strategies, including seeking peer support and practicing self-care. These strategies were shown to moderate stress impacts, albeit to a limited extent. The study underscores the critical need for targeted interventions in stress management, focusing on equipping principals with effective coping mechanisms to enhance their productivity and well-being.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Reading Eggs application on developing reading skills among young ESL (English as a Second Language) learners, focusing on age and gender differences within the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) framework. A quantitative pre-test/post-test design was employed to assess changes in reading skills following a two-week intervention using Reading Eggs. The participants included 28 primary school students grouped by age and gender to explore demographic effects. A two-way ANOVA was conducted to evaluate the influence of age, gender, and their interaction on reading skills. While the results showed no statistically significant effects, a large effect size for age suggests a potential influence constrained by the limited sample size. Gender and the interaction of age and gender demonstrated negligible effects. Data analysis included two-way ANOVA, hierarchical regression, and Structural Equation Modeling to uncover nuanced relationships between age, gender, and program effectiveness. The findings revealed no statistically significant effects, although a large effect size for age suggests a potential impact limited by the small sample size. Gender and the interaction of age and gender demonstrated negligible effects.

Abstract

Reading is a crucial skill in learning English that students must master. However, learners often face challenges such as limited time and restricted access to reading materials. In the Russian Federation, website restrictions further limit access to educational resources. This study addresses the issue by introducing visual storybooks as a solution to enhance students' reading comprehension. The research was conducted with first-semester students at Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, involving 22 participants. Using a classroom action research design, the study aimed to test the hypothesis that visual storybooks can significantly improve reading comprehension. Data were collected through reading tests, and the learning process incorporated small group discussions to foster idea sharing and active participation. The results showed notable improvement in students' reading comprehension scores, with pre-test results averaging 72.04 and post-test results reaching 81.81. The findings indicate that visual storybooks effectively enhance reading comprehension and engagement among first-semester students in the Russian Federation.

Abstract

Learning practices in elementary schools have not fully enhanced students' creativity. The diverse learning needs of students pose challenges in fostering creative and critical learners. Differentiated learning strategies aim to address these needs by adjusting content, processes, and products to match students' abilities and interests. This research explores differentiated learning as an innovation in elementary schools. A qualitative multiple case study design was employed to compare variations and similarities in differentiated learning practices across five selected schools. The schools were chosen based on criteria such as student population, teacher qualifications, and certification percentages. Thirty-two certified teachers with relevant qualifications participated as respondents. Data were analyzed using Nvivo 12 software through coding, categorization, matrix coding, and project mapping. The findings reveal that combined differentiated learning strategies effectively meet students' needs, talents, and interests. These strategies involve integrating varied learning resources and digital media within interactive learning communities. This study provides practical strategies for elementary teachers to enhance student creativity through diverse media and suitable learning environments. The findings support previous research on differentiated learning's role in developing creative, critical, and enthusiastic learners.

Abstract

The design diversity of entrepreneurial education ecosystems (EEE) significantly influences entrepreneurial intention. Further exploration is required to clarify the roles of attitude, subjective norm, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy as antecedents of entrepreneurial intention in various social contexts. This study investigates the role of the Entrepreneurial Education Ecosystem (EEE) in shaping entrepreneurial intention through attitude, subjective norm, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The research adopts a one-shot survey design for efficiency purposes, involving 400 students randomly selected using simple random sampling to minimize sampling bias. These participants were drawn from private universities in West Java and Banten. Inferential analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a covariant approach. The findings reveal that EEE indirectly influences entrepreneurial intention by impacting key mediators, highlighting significant implications for enhancing entrepreneurial education in Indonesia. This research provides new insights into the indirect role of EEE as a mediator through attitude, subjective norm, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy in shaping entrepreneurial intention holistically. By employing an integrative framework, the study combines the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) with the concept of the Entrepreneurial Education Ecosystem (EEE).

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of training programs focused on converting fuel-powered motorcycles to electric motorcycles in Indonesia as part of the sustainable energy transition. Using a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were collected from 31 alumni of the 2022 training cohort, while qualitative insights were gathered through interviews with select participants. Quantitative result reveal that facilities have a positive and significant effect on individual impact, as does training material. However, no significant effect is observed between training syllabus and individual impact. Qualitative results reveal that while the training content is generally effective, regulatory issues, unclear conversion standards, and limited workshop certifications hinder the implementation of learned skills. Participants also noted the need for additional training on electric motorcycle servicing and battery maintenance. The study emphasizes the importance of stronger collaboration between training providers, government agencies, and industries to address these challenges. By improving training curricula, reducing financial barriers, and aligning policies with field needs, this program can further contribute to Indonesia’s renewable energy goals and the development of a skilled workforce in the electric vehicle industry.
