Abstract

The objective of this research was to gather information about capturing techniques used by the local communities in Kaur District. Respondents were chosen by using snowball sampling method. Variables observed were equipment used by respondents, the time and location of capturing red jungle fowl. The result showed that the equipment used by the respondents are food supplies (rice and water), weapons (machetes, knives, matches), and clothing (hats , jackets, trousers, raincoats) and red jungle fowl hooks, nets, racit, sangkek and bags. Most of respondents chose the location of luring jungle fowl in the plantation area. Keywords: catching, equipment, red jungle fowl

Abstract

This research was aimed to analyze the influence of breeding season on the production of Frisian Holstein (FH) cattle milk. This research used secondary data covering milk production data of 81 lactation FH cattle and seasonal data (rainfall, temperature, humidity, and THI). The data is tabulated to yield the total data of each variable. Data obtained from each observed variables were analyzed using a t-test using the SAS program. Based on t-test, the results showed no significant effect on average milk production at rainy dan dry season during lactation periods of L1, L2, and L3. Our experiment suggested that season of calving showed no differences on milk production of FH dairy cattle during lactation periods of L1, L2, and L3. Conclusions in this research show that seasonal differences do not affect the diversity of milk production. Keywords: dry season, Friesian Holstein, milk production, rainy

Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to determine the effect of rejecting milk on drinking water on feed intake, daily body weight gain and feed conversion of broilers. The material of this study included 200 broilers aged 14 days given P0= drinking water treatment without giving an reject milk and P1= drinking water with the addition of rejected milk. Chickens were treated for 14 days and fed with PK= 22.0-23.0%, Fat= 5.0%, Calcium= 0.9%, Phospor= 0.6%, ME= 3050-3150 Kcal/Kg. In conclusion, rejected milk in drinking water has a significant effect on daily body weight gain, but does not significantly effect on feed intake and feed conversion. Abstract

The aim of the research was to study the effects of synchronization index in the sugarcane bagasse based complete feed on feed intake, daily body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of sheep. Two permanent cannulated male local sheep was 2 years old to create formulation of three diets with different synchronization index, namely 0.37; 0.50 and 0.63 respectively. Fifteen local male sheep with body weight average of 18,32 kg (cv= 14,39%) and aged at 12 months were feed a complete feed based on bagasse with a level of synchrony index 0,37; 0,50; 0,63 were design isoprotein and isoenergy. The treatments were allotted in a randomized block design with 3 treatments and 5 groups for in-vivo test. The feed intake, daily body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of fifteen rams were determined on week 8 of experimental period. The results of the study indicated that the synchrony index did not effect on feed intake, but daily body weight and feed conversion ratio was affected (P<0.05) by the treatment of synchrony index in diet. The daily body weight gain of P2 group was highest compared with P1 and P3 groups. The feed conversion ratio of P2 group was lowest compared with P1 and P3 groups. The alteration of the study indicated that the synchronization index level of 0.50 showed the best weight gain and feed conversion. Abstract

The objective of the researh was to study the effect of additions soybean meal in ration on the feed consumption, daily weight gain and feed convertion in Simmental cattle. The experiment used eight male Simmental cattle around 2 years old with an average weight of 198,65 ± 14,57 kilograms. The cattle kept for 35 days and given rations P0 (rations ranchers) and P1 (rations plus soybean meal). Data was obtained, then analyzed using independent sample t-test assisted with SPSS version 17.00 software. The result showed that the addition of soybean meal did not affect on dry matter consumption, daily weight gain, and feed convertion but, the crude protein consumption was increased.
