Abstract

Management information systems are a collection of systems that work together and produce the information needed by users. The main purpose of an information system is to make work easier, especially related to data and information. The benefit of implementing a management information system is the ability to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data accurately and precisely. The writing describes the structure of the Management Information System and the application of information systems in educational institutions. The research technique used in this paper is library research. The research findings reveal that the structure of information systems is fundamentally divided into two, namely structured systems (formal) and unstructured (nonformal) systems. Management information systems strive to integrate both. Understanding the structure of management information systems can also be obtained through various approaches such as organizational functions, management activities, conceptual, and physical. In educational institutions, particularly universities, the implementation of management information systems has been carried out by almost all educational units. A leader of an educational institution must have the capability to manage information as a basis in the accountable decision-making process in the field of education. The information needed by educational leaders/managers is provided by the educational management information system

Abstract

This paper aims to find out about the basic concepts of information systems. The method used in this paper is the literature study method or often referred to as (library research). This is a series of activities related to library data collection methods by reading, taking notes and processing research materials originating from library data such as reference books or journals so that they are not bound by field data. The results of this paper show that: In facing this competition, universities are required to provide data quickly and accurately in making decisions that can encourage the management of educational institutions using an IT-based approach. Therefore, PSTI for a tertiary institution is also very important so that it not only guarantees the success of IT development plans but also can realize goals in accordance with the tri dharma principles of higher education. Academic Information Systems play an important role in facilitating data management, such as student grades, courses, information on teaching staff or lecturers, as well as faculty or department administration. Processes that were previously carried out manually can be optimized with the help of software, making them more efficient in terms of time and reducing operational costs

Abstract

The Higher Education Management Information System (SIMPT) is a strategic instrument in supporting decision-making, operational efficiency, and improving the quality of governance of higher education institutions. This study aims to identify and analyse the main components of SIMPT and their relationship in supporting managerial and academic performance of higher education institutions. The method used was literature study and descriptive analysis of various models of higher education information systems. The study results show that SIMPT consists of four main components, namely hardware, software, operational procedures, and brainware (system users). The four components must be integrated in order to create a reliable and adaptive information system. In addition, institutional policies, data security, and HR training also play an important role in supporting system effectiveness. A well-managed SIMPT can improve transparency, accountability, and competitiveness of higher education institutions

Abstract

Improving academic quality and student services is a top priority in today's higher education management. The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) is considered an effective approach to address these challenges. In the context of higher education, TQM not only focuses on improving academic quality, but also on service aspects that focus on student satisfaction and related stakeholders. The application of TQM principles that include management commitment, participation of the entire academic community, and continuous cultural improvement has been proven to improve the quality of teaching, administrative processes, and facility development. Continuous system improvement is the main key in this process, where evaluation, analysis, and innovation are carried out routinely to ensure continuous progress. The success of TQM implementation is highly dependent on the role of visionary leadership and the ability to inspire the entire academic community to actively participate. Supportive leadership will create an innovative and collaborative culture, so that the improvement process can run effectively and efficiently. In addition, the participation of all elements in the university, from deans, lecturers, education staff, to students, is the main pillar that ensures the desire and success of the TQM system. Through this approach, it is expected that the academic quality and educational services in higher education can be optimally improved, meet national and international standards, and create a quality and competitive academic environment. Thus, the implementation of TQM in higher education is an important strategy in realizing quality graduates and superior institutions
