Abstract

Comics have become one of the most influential media in popular culture in Indonesia. The comic Nusa Five by Sweta Kartika is a prominent example of this, incorporating elements of Indonesian culture into its character designs. This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the design of the main characters in the comic Nusa Five to understand how arts education and visual communication play a role in creating characters that reflect the diversity of Indonesian culture. Character design analysis was carried out using a qualitative approach which involved observing the shapes, colors, textures and expressions of the characters in the comic Nusa Five. Data were analyzed to identify ways in which arts education and visual communication influence character formation. The results of the analysis show that art education provides a strong understanding of the use of visual elements to create unique and interesting characters. Meanwhile, visual communication strengthens visual narratives and conveys deep messages to readers. Even though there are some weaknesses in character design, arts education and visual communication remain an important foundation in creating strong and cohesive characters that reflect Indonesian culture. With a better understanding of the principles of visual art and design, Indonesian artists and designers can continue to produce work that respects and well represents the archipelago's cultural diversity.

Abstract

Technology has entered the educational sphere, particularly in the learning of foreign languages. The usage of artificial intelligence helps students' learning. Artificial intelligence, particularly in the writing process, can bring convenience by swiftly supplying references, paraphrasing sentences, and now checking sentence structure, which will undoubtedly improve students' writing abilities. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. This strategy seeks to provide a comprehensive and detailed description of numerous events. This study employs purposive sampling to collect data. Participants in this study are English Language Study Program students in the academic year 2023/2024 who apply artificial intelligence in their writing. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis revealed that the most popular artificial intelligence tools among students are Quill Bot, Grammarly, Chat GPT, Deep L, Perplexity AI, and Essay Writer. Most students employ artificial intelligence during the writing process, particularly when brainstorming and drafting. Because they believe there is an urgent need for artificial intelligence in the process of finding references and composing a sentence into a paragraph, a student requires it. However, according to study, they continue to employ artificial intelligence in its natural stages, with pupils using it based on their needs and talents.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Beyond Center and Circle Time (BCCT) learning method with the student rotation method from one class to another (Rolling) at RA Al-Huda Samarinda City, and its impact on improving the quality of early childhood education. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the teachers at RA Al-Huda have implemented rolling by dividing the class into several activity centers. Each center is rotated in turn, so that students have an equal opportunity. This rolling system has proven effective in increasing children's interest in learning, creating a variety of engaging activities for children, and developing children's abilities holistically. However, there are challenges in managing transitions between centers, but the teachers at RA Al-Huda overcome these challenges by providing individual guidance, using motivational techniques, and simplifying transitions between centers. Overall, the implementation of the BCCT method with a rolling system at RA Al-Huda has had a positive impact on improving the quality of early childhood education.

Abstract

This research discusses the collaboration between parents and teachers in an education-based parenting model in early childhood education (PAUD), which plays a crucial role in supporting the holistic development of young children. Based on the literature review, collaboration that includes communication, parental participation, and support for learning at home positively impacts children's academic and social-emotional development. Teachers, with their professional competencies, act as facilitators who can design activities according to the developmental needs of children, while parents support learning through emotional stability and educational values at home. However, challenges such as differing perceptions, time limitations, and economic backgrounds require inclusive strategies, such as family-centered education models that position families as key partners in education. This approach has proven effective in enhancing children's motivation to learn and strengthening the emotional connections between children, parents, and teachers. In conclusion, harmonious collaboration can create a holistic and sustainable ecosystem.
