FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Selain itu, kami sebagai pengurus jurnal ini bersedia memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk siapa saja yang ingin maju dan berkompeten dalam hal menulis karya fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Abstract

Two causes of difficulties in writing anecdotal texts for students are that they often have difficulty writing innuendo terms that contain humor for the story to be created. Another factor is that educators do not use innovative and creative learning models, and learners do not have enough practice or practice during learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of learners in writing anecdote text, especially determining the structure of anecdote text, namely crisis, by using problem-based learning model as an alternative. The author makes the results of this study after conducting research on students of class X MIPA 6 at SMA PGII 1 Bandung as an experimental class and a control class. The results showed that students in the control class did not have the ability to write a crisis on an anecdote text. This is due to the incompatibility with the characteristics of the crisis of anecdote text, which is satire or criticism on real figures or events that contain humor, silliness, and cuteness that tickle readers. Compared to students in the experimental class who used the problem-based learning model, the results showed that students in the experimental class were able to write a crisis in the anecdote text created because it was in accordance with the characteristics of the crisis, namely satire or criticism of real characters or events that contain humor, silliness, and cuteness that tickle the reader.

Abstract

The film entitled Mars, directed by Sahrul Gibran, succeeded in attracting the attention of those watching Indonesian films in 2016. This limited screening film tells the story of the role of a mother, wife and breadwinner. This research aims to describe the representation of women in the film Mars. This research uses a qualitative approach with Roland Barthes' semiotic method. Researchers also chose samples based on women's representation. The data collection technique in this research uses documentation techniques. The data in this research are pictures or wordings in the form of representations of women. The primary data source in this research is YouTube. The data collection method used in this research is the observation method using note-taking techniques. The research results show three things that can be put forward as emphasis. Firstly, this film does not emerge from the figure of Tumpon (a weak, steadfast and strong female figure). The second is the struggle of an illiterate mother from a remote village who is struggling so that her daughter can go to school and have a better life than herself. Third, the minimalist and simple cinematic presentation means that every message in this film can be conveyed well because it highlights and depicts the figure of a Javanese woman who lives in poverty, this does not mean that this film carries/speaks of a feminist paradigm or gender justice/injustice.

Abstract

Kasus baru penderita HIV/AIDS terus meningkat setiap tahunnya, termasuk di Indonesia. Hal ini menjadikan Indonesia sebagai negara dengan jumlah kasus baru pengidap HIV tertinggi di Asia Tenggara. Usia 15-19 tahun diidentifikasi sebagai kelompok remaja yang paling banyak terinfeksi HIV mencapai 3,3% dari seluruh kasus. Sebagian besar para remaja memiliki pemahaman terbatas tentang HIV/AIDS, sehingga stigma negatif mereka terhadap Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) masih tinggi dan mendorong ODHA untuk merahasiakan status mereka. Penulis melakukan penelitian untuk mengatasi masalah ini dan menemukan bahwa sebagian besar remaja kurang paham tentang HIV/AIDS. Oleh karena itu, edukasi yang lebih intensif mengenai HIV/AIDS menjadi sangat penting. Penelitian ini didukung oleh penggunaan data primer dan data sekunder melalui metode analisis data baik kualitatif maupun kuantitatif guna merancang solusi yang relevan dan efektif. Hasil dari analisis tersebut kemudian menjadi solusi penulis yaitu dengan merancang sebuah platform berbasis komik digital khususnya di Webtoon, karena 81,3% responden menyatakan preferensi terhadap platform ini. Platform komik digital ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang HIV/AIDS, terutama pada kalangan remaja. Ini akan membantu mengurangi stigma dan diskriminasi yang masih melekat pada ODHA. Pendekatan ini diharapkan agar para remaja lebih aktif dalam memperoleh informasi dan berpartisipasi dalam upaya pencegahan penularan HIV/AIDS.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the meaning, nature, and objectives of the curriculum. This type of research is qualitative, using descriptive analysis methods and library study methods to dig up information. Curriculum is a set of things related to learning, starting with planning, implementation, and evaluation, and concerns the programs, facilities, and activities of an educational or training institution to realize its vision, mission, and institution. There are four goals of the curriculum: national education goals, institutional education goals, curricular goals, and learning goals.

Abstract

This research raises the topic "Pancasila as a Foundation for Education and Overcoming Unemployment" with the aim of understanding the foundation of education in Pancasila. Through literature study methods, we have identified Pancasila, education and unemployment. Pancasila is the ethics and morals of the Indonesian nation in the sense that it is the common core of the various morals that are actually found in Indonesia that are able to overcome all factionalism in Indonesia. Pancasila is the basis of the national philosophy as well as the Indonesian nation's philosophy of life, in fact it is a systematic, fundamental and comprehensive set of values. So silila is a unity that round and intact, hierarchical and systematic. The results of this research highlight the importance of understanding and maintaining values in the context of Pancasila in order to strengthen the moral and ethical foundations of Indonesia's national development.

Abstract

Emotional Blackmail is a powerful form of manipulation where people closest to us threaten, either directly or indirectly, with the aim of making us feel guilty and making us anxious if we don't do what they want. Emotional blackmail is a concept presented by psychologist Susan Forward in the book "Emotional Blackmail". The research method used is the Literature Review Study method using the book "Emotional Blackmail" by Zhou Mu-Zi. The purpose of this research is to determine the awareness of emotional blackmail experienced by several people from different perspectives in the book "Emotional Blackmail" by Zhou Mu-zi. The results of research from the books reviewed can be identified that many people fall into the cycle of emotional blackmail and few people are aware of emotional blackmail. This is proven by the impact and characteristics of emotional blackmail in several individual cases in the surrounding environment which were written and described in the book "Emotional Blackmail" based on true stories of victims who poured out their complaints to the author.

Abstract

This research paper explores the tradition of “ Wurumana Kematian” in Manulondo village, Ndona sub-district, Ende district, Flores NTT. Wurumana is a customary tradition related to death, which also has a very deep cultural spiritual meaning and is passed down from generation to generation by the Ende Lio cultural community in general. This research discusses the wurumana tradition in Ende Lio vulture and its impact the economic viability of the community. Wurumana is a sharing tradition practiced by the Ende Lio community in important event such as marriage or wedding, circumcision, death and graduation. In this tradition. Various family parties are involved, including the ine ame, tuka bela aji ka’e and ana embu Wurumana also has a meaning of brotherhood that is prepared with the aim that, ehen another brother experiences grief due to death, then we as tuka bela and aji ka’e take part in the event. This study aims to understand how wurumana death is practiced, its role in the social life of the community and also the influence on the economic stability of the local community. Through a qualitative approach data was collected through in-depth interviews with traditional leaders (mosalaki: lio), as the main resource persons, participatory observation, and literature review. The result showed that the tradition of wurumana death is not only a ritual of respect for the deceased, but also a way to honor the dead.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1). To determine the learning outcomes of third grade students of SD Bruder Singkawang in Thematic learning before using the Webbed learning model; 2). To determine the learning outcomes of third grade students of SD Bruder Singkawang in Thematic learning after using the Webbed learning model; 3) To determine how much influence the Webbed learning model assisted by the magic box media has on the learning outcomes of third grade students of SD Bruder Singkawang. The type of research is quantitative research with the pre-experimental designs (nondesigns) method, in the form of One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population in this study were all third grade students totaling 89 students. The sample was taken using the purposive sampling technique. The sample selected in this study was class IIIB students, totaling 46 students. The instrument used in this study was a test of students' cognitive learning outcomes in the Indonesian and Mathematics learning content. The data analysis technique used the calculation of the final pretest-posttest score, standard deviation and effect size. The results of this study indicate that: 1) The learning outcomes of third grade students before using the webbed learning model were still relatively low. The average pretest result on the Indonesian language learning content is 60 and on the Mathematics learning content is 61. 2) The learning outcomes of grade III students before the use of the webbed learning model are still relatively low. The average pretest result on the Indonesian language learning content is 93 and on the Mathematics learning content is 86. 3) The webbed model assisted by the magic box media has a major influence on student learning outcomes in Thematic lessons in grade III of elementary school. This can be seen from the results obtained of 1.59 on the Indonesian language content and 2.85 on the Mathematics learning content. The results are included in the high criteria. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the webbed learning model assisted by the magic box media on learning outcomes in Thematic learning of grade III students of Bruder Elementary School Singkawang.

Abstract

Data Literacy is the essential competency in this digital era. However, there is a lot of college students have difficulty in comprehending and delivering the information data-driven information effectively. This study aims to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing data literacy through implementation of International Toastmaster project which has been proven effective in developing speaking and leadership skill. Mix method is conducted in this study which involve 30 english literature students of State University of Medan who have follow International Toastamaster program. This study evaluates the influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is intergrated in 10 International Toastmaster project for developing data literacy within the framework of a structured Toastmasters program. The data was collected through questionaires, interviews and survey for evaluating data literacy level of the students. The finding of this study shows that the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 10 International Toastmaster project can significantly improve students’ ability in analyzing, interpreting and presenting data findings. The finding indicates that the integration can increase essential speaking skills to face challenges in an increasingly data-dependent era.
