Abstract

An increasing the volume of organic waste forming the residual impacts that can be polluted the environment. An Integrative management is needed to increase the value of organic waste and its use for several sectors such as agriculture and animal husbandry. The use of Hermetia illucens (Black Soldier Fly) larvae is an alternative for integrated waste management that can increase the value of waste processed into compost. Meanwhile, Black Soldier Fly larvae which are waste degradating agents, have the potential of high protein feed. This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of some types of organic waste degradation using BSF larvae. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomized design with three treatments in the form of different types of organic waste. The process of waste degradation is done by placing BSF larvae taken from one broodstock. Data analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA. The results show the effectiveness of waste degradation highest value obtained on the type of rotten vegetable with 71,7 gram of media weight at the end of proccess.

Abstract

Fakfak nutmeg seeds contain 6% of essential oil and 11-34% of fat. Trimyristin contained in nutmeg seeds reaches 80%. The oil and fat content in the nutmeg seeds can be used as an ingredient for making soap, perfume and other industrial materials. Tools made of stainless steel can be used to distill the oil content in nutmeg seeds. Reflux system using ester which will then be purified using acetone and then tested again with gas chromatography to isolate and purify nutmeg essential oil. Extraction of anthocyanin pigments from red dragon fruit peel waste using maceration method using distilled water and 10% citric acid with a ratio of 1:6 which is a mixed solvent type. The test parameters used pH values and absorbance values were measured using spectrophotometry with the UV-Visible method to determine and analyze the brightness level of the anthocyanin red dye content. The results of the content of trimyristin which can be potential as a soap additive and can be tested for anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties combined with the principle of green chemistry.

Abstract

Peatlands is one of carbon stocks in ecosystem. Soil carbon is stored in the peat layer and and the above ground carbon is stored in vegetation. Central Kalimantan has large area of ombrogenic peatland in Indonesia. The aim of this research was; (1) Identify C-organic content, ash content, and bulk density in several peat land uses in KHDTK Tumbang Nusa, Central Kalimantan; (2) Identify the relationship between C-Organic with ash content and bulk density of peat soil. This research was conducted in July 2020 – December 2020. Sampling of peat soil took place in the Tumbang Nusa Special Purpose Forest Area (KHDTK). The analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the soil is located in the laboratory of the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Palangka Raya, the Laboratory of the Research and Development Center for Environment and Forestry (BP2LHK) Banjar Baru, the University Integrated Laboratory. The research was conducted using a sampling method on each different land cover, namely natural forest, burnt areas, and revegetation. Each study site made 3 profiles, then soil samples were taken at a depth of 10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, and 40 cm. The results of the study show the conclusions of the results of this study, namely; (1) the largest of C content is 57.83% at secondary forest and the lowest of value of the C content is 54.24% the burnt land. The highest ash content is 9.01% at revegetation area and the lowest ash content is 0.31% at secondary forest land. The highest bulk density is 0.19 g cm-3  at revegetation area and the lowest bulk density is 0.12 g cm-3 at secondary forest. C organic has an inverse relationship with ash content. Further, the relationship between C-Organic and bulk density has a inverse relationship, too.

Abstract

Palm oil is one of the largest agricultural commodities in Indonesia, which positively influences economic and social growth. Riau Province is the province with the largest oil palm plantation in Indonesia. Economic development is considered a threat because it pursues growth alone and is considered to ignore environmental conditions. So far, palm oil waste has been used for solid waste as briquettes, biogas, paper pulp raw materials, and liquid waste as fertilizer. Meanwhile, palm oil sticks are considered commercial and can become a new industry but have not been developed. The purpose of this study was to examine from a business perspective the external and internal environment in the utilization of palm oil stick waste in Rokan Hilir district, Riau Province. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the external environment consisted of guidance from the government, assistance with business facilities and equipment, loan application procedures, and licensing procedures, while the internal environment consisted of business capital, human resources, business networks, technology and equipment, product promotion and online marketing/marketing.

Abstract

Anchovies (Stolephorus sp), need to be managed well because although as a natural resource that is open access if not managed properly, the management of fishery resources is not optimal and sustainable. One approach in the management of fish resources is with a surplus production model. The analysis was conducted to obtain the best model that aims to know the maximum sustainable catch (MSY), utilization rate, and use of anchovies. Data on catches and anchovies fishing efforts were collected from the Siak District Fisheries and Livestock Service. The best Surplus Production Model used to assess the potential of anchovies is the Walter-Hilborn model. Optimal effort (EMSY) of 150 Units per year. Cmsy's optimal catch is 247.75 tons per year. The utilization rate for 2020 is 70%, with an entrepreneurial rate of 41%, which indicates that overfishing has not occurred both biologically and economically.

Abstract

This research was conducted in September until November 2018 in the Tapung Kiri River Basin in Kampar Regency. Data analyze the water quality conditions in terms of physical, chemical, microbiological and heavy metal parameters, estimating incoming pollutant loads, measuring waters assimilation capacity, and determining pollution index values and the socio-economic impact of the community around the waters of the Tapung Kiri River. Sampling and analysis of samples were carried out at 5 stations with 3 replications carried out both in the field and the laboratory. The results showed that water quality parameters namely TSS, BOD, COD, NH3, PO4, Fe and Total Coliform had exceeded the quality standard based on Government Regulation  No. 82 of 2001. The calculation of the pollutant load of the Tapung Kiri River waters indicates that the parameters TSS, BOD, COD, NH3, PO4, Oil and Fe have exceeded their assimilation capacity. The Tapung Kiri River is mild to moderate polluted based on Minister of Environment Decree No. 115 of 2003.

Abstract

The role of transportation for the community has  a tremendous impact, especially in daily life activities. In transportation sector, especially land transportation, toll road has a major role in determining the pace of the economy and the level of community prosperity. The condition of the toll road with the facilities available on it capable of supporting the movement of vehicles with a high average speed and in a fast travel time can be considered as an adjustment solution to increase mobility, but in fact these conditions lead to potential traffic accidents. Implementation of safety driving related to the phenomenon of traffic accidents which are the main concern or problem on toll road by creating a decent safety culture. Safety culture is a tendency of attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions that naturally spread within groups that are embodied in rules and values, which are seen in how they act in relation to risk and control systems. This study aims to determine the relationship between safety culture and safety driving among drivers of Pekanbaru Dumai toll road. The subject of this study found 60 drivers who use the Pekanbaru Dumai toll road. Researchers used a safety culture and safety driving questionnaire.The results of this study indicate a very significant positive relationship between safety culture and safety driving, with r = 0.732, p <0.01, r2 = 0.536. It can be concluded that safety culture is one of the factors safety driving among drivers Pekanbaru Dumai toll road with percentage of effect 53.6%, although only one dimension is significant with safety driving.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by the population of the academic community (lecturers, employees and students) and motor vehicle transportation in the campus of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, which is located on Jalan Juanda as the study location because it is the center of the campus. The method used in this research is survey and calculation. The calculation results show that CO2 emissions produced by humans from all residents on campus 1 UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, totaling 24,126 people, produce CO2 emissions of 3,136 kg/hour or equivalent to 25,091 kg/day or equivalent to 6,021,849 kg/year. Meanwhile, the amount of CO2 emissions from motor vehicles (cars and motorcycles) is 4299,121 kg/hour or the equivalent of 8,254.3 tons/year.

Abstract

Mangrove Ecotourism Management of Mengkapan Siak which has potential as an ecotourism area is currently experiencing stagnation in its development. The management of mangrove ecotourism in Mengkapan is still sectoral and has not been based on multi-sectoral and multi-dimensional considerations. This study aims to identify the condition of the mangrove ecotourism area by integrating multidimensional aspects (ecological, economic, socio-cultural, legal-institutional and infrastructure-technology) to be able to analyze the sustainability index of each dimension of mangrove ecotourism management, which will then be obtained sensitive attributes that are the key in the formulation of the mangrove ecotourism management strategy. This research was conducted using quantitative and qualitative approaches with survey methods, literature studies and interviews. The data obtained will be analyzed using Rap-Mangrove Analysis which aims to determine the sustainability status of mangrove ecotourism and leverage analysis to determine the sensitive attributes of each dimension. The results obtained that the index value of the ecological dimension is 48.20% (less sustainable), the economic dimension is 37.00% (less sustainable), the socio-cultural dimension is 78.60 (very sustainable), the legal-institutional dimension is 57.30 (sufficiently sustainable) and the infrastructure-technology dimension of 68.70 (sufficiently sustainable). Therefore, the development strategy that can be carried out is the rehabilitation of the mangrove ecosystem, increasing education to the local community, involving all stakeholders, as well as compiling and establishing standard management rules with legal force.

Abstract

Farmers of palm oil requaired 1. Farmers of palm oil are mandatorily required to follow the ISPO standar in their business. 2. The problem arise due to mobilty to implement the standard. 3. The purpose of this study was examine the perception of palm oil farmers to the concept of ISPO. 4. The study was conducted from March 2019 to September 2020 using survey methods. Stratified Random Sampling with a sample number of 90 people from 3 sub-districts (Tapung Hulu, Tapung Hilir and Tapung). Were done  the analysis was performed  descriptively. The results showed  that the characteristics of palm oil were full filled still not  still not the principles of ISPO, especially in the principle of sustainable business improvement and the principle of environmental management and monitoring. Farmers have a perception that they are still less able to apply the four principles of ISPO, especially in improving sustainable business and environmental management and monitoring.
