Abstract

The research aims to look at how much revenue from the hunting community actual sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei) and factors that affect people hunting sambar deer. The method used is the method descriptive with survey forms through interview techniques. Analysis of the data using two types of analysis, namely the descriptive to see income from the hunt sambar deer, the inferential analysis using the test - T (Paired samples T test) and multiple linear regression. There are differences in the actual income from the hunt sambar deer (Cervus unicolor, Brookei ) with earnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Test Results - t two variables ( Paired sample T-test ) there was significant difference between sambar deer hunting revenue swith arnings beyond sambar deer hunting. Chikuadarat test showed there was no significant difference in the level of motivation of the sambar deer hunt. Results showed linear statistical calculations 2 (three) independent variables affect the motivation of the sambar deer hunting community, accessibility (X3) and the level of know ledge (X4). Where as other variables did not affect the motivation of people like the sambar deer hunting income variable (X1), employment opportunities (X2), cosmopolitan (X5), hunting experience (X6), andage (X7). Abstract

Herpetofauna is fauna group consisting of reptiles and amphibians. This study aims to determine the diversity of herpetofauna at Lekawai Resort in Area Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park West Kalimantan . The method of data collection was done by using Visual Encounter Survey (VES) combining with of tracking systems. Herpetofauna found as many as 35 species which are divided into 24 kinds of amphibians and 11 species of reptiles. Air humidity ranged between 81 % - 85 %, air temperature 270C - 290C, water temperature 220C - 240C and pH of water 6. Highest species diversity index in aquatic habitats by H'= 0.996 and the lowest in terrestrial habitats that H'= 0.957. The highest evenness index in aquatic habitats that are e= 0.765 and lowest in terrestrial habitats is e= 0.724. However, the similarity index value types (S) between the two habitats is obtained with a value of 0.3. The highest abundance of amphibians in class Limnonectes kuhlii ie by 18 % . Relative abundance of reptiles found in the type of class Eutropis rudis of 5.4 %. The largest Chance encounter was belonged types Limnonectes kuhlii of 0.643 individuals / hour. Abstract

Forest plantation development especially industrial forest plantations (IPF) is an important activity in the critical land use. One of the plants is Acacia crassicarpa. Purpose of this research is to determine the VAM (vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae) plant associations in A. crassicarpa. in the peatland area of PT. Kalimantan Subur Permai. This research method is the isolation of spores through the examination process gradually wet, coloring the roots, characteristics of spores at the genus level and calculate the percentage of root infection. The results showed that 6 types of spores was found that 5 of the genus Glomus and 1 of the genus Gigaspora and the average percentage of root infection was 22% - 38%. Keywords: Association, vesicular arbuscular mycorrhizae, A. crassicarpa, peatlands.

Abstract

Acacia mangium Willd has been developed industrial forest (HTI) in Indonesia. It uses as raw material for paper, pulp, building construction, furniture, firewood, container and others.Based on the result by PT . Finnantara, Acacia mangium Willd was age 6 months still much below the standards of company that is 2.7 m due to low soil fertility , so it is necessary to attempt for the restore fertility of the soil using type of compost is ESEM (Effective Microorganism System Emultion ). The result showed that the plant Acacia mangium Willd treated compost providing value added high average better than control treatmen. The highest value for plant height increment is the T4 treatment (dose 700gr), which has an average height of 121,4cm as well as having the highest value component P in 216,72 and component N in 0,40. In every treatment has increased in diameter trunk was different and T0 (control) has greatest in 2,20cm. Eventhouhg T0 has a low value of P componen in 22.44 and N componen in 0,17, but It has been able to increase the diameter of the plants. Keyword : Acacia mangium Willd, HTI, compost ESEM (Effective System Emultion Microorganism).

Abstract

Mahogany is a pioneer plant that can grow well in brackish sand near beach. Mahogany trees are also widely used as a bioremediation agent. Mahogany plants that will be used as a bioremediation agent must be a good seed , one of the factors that must be corrected to obtain good seed is by providing a good planting media as well. In West Kalimantan, there are a lot of alluvial soil that can be used as a medium of nursery . Alluvial soil is generally acidic (low pH) and nutrient poor so it will be a problem when it is used as a medium of nursery. The attempts to overcome this problem is by adding peat and rice husk on alluvial palanting media . This study was aimed to determine the effect of peat and rice husk on alluvial planting media on the growth of mahogany seedlings in the seedbed. According to analysis carried out showed there were not significantly different between treatments, but when viewed from the mean of plant height and the number of leaf growth, treatment B with the comparison of alluvial soil , peat and rice hulls (5:5:0) was the highest growth of trunks and leaves . Based on the observation, the largest growth of trunk diameter was on treatment C that was 0:59 mm. The difference of diameter growth at every treatment is essentially influenced by many factors, both external factors from natural ( climate and environment ) and internal factors (genetic) of seed plants. Key words: Planting media, peat, rice husk, alluvial, growth of mahogany seedling.
