Abstract

Community service activities carried out by a team from the Indonesian Education University majoring in PGSD which were held on November 2, 2021 online face-to-face via Zoom have made a very meaningful contribution to the community, especially in the Sumedang Regency area, and received a very good response and enthusiasm. tall. The implementation of community service activities through the outreach program on the Importance of Health Protocols in the Implementation of Islamic Religious Values is intended to help outreach to the community, especially for parents, teachers, and students as prospective educators about the importance of health protocols. This activity aims that we always maintain hand hygiene to support the government's efforts in suppressing cases of the spread of the Corona Virus and raise awareness in the implementation of maintaining cleanliness is part of faith. As we all know, the COVID-19 virus is currently sweeping the world, including Indonesia being one of the countries affected by the pandemic. The government's efforts to suppress the spread of the corona virus continue to be carried out. One of them is in the health sector in preventing the spread of the Corona Virus, namely by carrying out the 3M movement (Washing Hands, Keeping Your Distance and Staying Away from Crowds). Hand washing is a form of maintaining cleanliness. Islam is a religion that pays attention to cleanliness.

Abstract

Preserving Indonesian culture is our collective duty, in its realization as prospective teachers for UPI students at the Purwakarta campus, they are equipped with an understanding of character education through Pantun problems to convey moral messages in learning, especially strengthening, forming, and developing the potential of students in thinking and behaving well, filtering and choosing the nation's own culture, so that it can filter out the culture of other nations that are not by the values of the character and culture of the nation itself. To make those idea happen, the objectives of this community service were the following questions: (1) do UPI Purwakarta Campus students master Pantun? (2) do students of PGSD UPI Campus Purwakarta master the type of Pantun? and (3) are PGSD UPI Purwakarta students able to bring up character values in making Pantun? The participants of this training consisted of 50 students from various classes, the focus of this service is through Pantun training which was carried out online and the outputs in this community service training were articles publications in the field of community service and Pantun training videos so that it is hoped that UPI PGSD Purwakarta students as teacher candidates not only skilled in teaching but equipped with character education. The learning process either before or after learning can interact directly with choosing words adapted to different learning themes.

Abstract

The State Elementary School (SD) of 2 Lontar is the closest school to the UPI Marine Station, Serang Campus, which is located in Lontar, Tirtayasa District, Serang Regency. Based on interviews with classroom teachers there, most said that mathematics is the most difficult subject to teach, especially in the form of story questions. Many students are fooled and wrong in answering the question form. Especially during a pandemic like now which presents its challenges for teachers there, both in terms of material delivery, media selection, and assessment. On the other hand, mathematical literacy (numerical literacy) is a criterion that is used as an assessment in the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM).  Referring to this, researchers will conduct community service with the target of SDN Lontar 2 teachers as an effort to improve the quality of learning, especially mathematics lessons with situational-based learning. The steps that the researcher will take are needs analysis and literature study followed by strategy formulation, implementation, direct practice, evaluation, and follow-up. The strategies compiled will be related to language skills which are a means of communication between teachers and students. The result of this empowerment is planting to identify problems and problem-solving strategies for elementary school children. The follow-up program invites teachers to continuously improve and implement situational-based learning. Teachers' understanding of the application of communicatively oriented mathematics learning methods has proven to increase after the training and the results of monitoring the implementation have also been observed

Abstract

The low level of human resources affects in terms of education and religion practice. One of the examples is the lack of ustadz who can teach reading and writing the Qur'an. The purpose of this activity is how to regenerate new prospective ustadz and ustadzah to assist in reading and writing the Qur'an in Langgeng Hamlet, Karangluhur Village, Kertek District, Wonosobo Regency. The community service method uses observation, interviews, and documentation. The stages are through a preliminary interview, direct observation, teaching practice, direction, support and supervision of prospective clerics and clerics in carrying out the practice of reading and writing the Qur'an at TPQ. The results of integrated service include: First, training and also learning that is followed by prospective ustadz and ustadzah can provide knowledge and also learn how to teach reading and writing the Qur'an. Second, mentoring and motivation are carried out so that prospective ustadz and ustadzah have enthusiasm and confidence in teaching reading and writing the Qur'an. Third, with this community service activity, initially there were only 2 ustadz in carrying out reading and writing activities of the Qur'an to be helped by the presence of new ustadz and ustadzah candidates. Fourth, the implementation of activities still has obstacles in the lack of motivation and awareness of the parents, but can be overcome with regular supervision. This activity was responded positively by the community, especially those that focus on religious education and can also be used as an alternative example of strengthening potential for villages or other areas with similar conditions

Abstract

The results of the TIMSS survey showed that Indonesia is in a lower position than several countries in Asia. One of the alternative ways to deal with that problems is elementary school teachers' training on developing High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questionss. The training is a part of community service to prepare the teachers with the hots questions concept. The training also provides them with examples of mathematics and social studies hots questions. The purpose of this training is to provide an understanding of HOTS questions concept and provide examples in developing mathematics and social studies HOTS questions for teachers. The method of the training consists of material presentation and reflection sessions. In the reflection session, the elementary school teacher made and presented their hots questions. The training also is expressed in three stages; preparation, implementation, and evaluation. There are seven teachers from the Elementary School of Teaching Laboratory of UPI Serang campus as participants. They gave positive responses to the training as they got experience in developing hots questions. They also develop their knowledge in designing the questions. The output of the program is sets of mathematics and social studies HOTS questions and the journal publication.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology provide many positive influences in the world of education. The rate of information dissemination is growing with various types and provides information quickly as well as profile videos. Making a profile video is one of the author's leading activities in a series of UPI 2021 thematic community service program activities with the theme of building villages through the fields of education and the economy. Dissemination of information about schools that is limited and still conventional by word of mouth is often an obstacle for some parents in knowing the destination school for their children. Unfortunately, some schools did not take a position to have appropriate video profiles. This profile video creation activity aims to make it easier for the community, especially parents, to see the school's profile video and become a digital footprint for schools in promoting schools. The approach taken in this activity is a field approach, where the author tries to collect data and information intensively. This activity involves the Service Technical Implementation Unit of State Elementary School of Cinini in every stage of manufacture. This activity significantly impacted the dissemination of school profile information and boosted the school's popularity. This community service provided help to the community to reach information about the school.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology growth have become a learning solution when the Covid-19 pandemic has had a lot of positive effects in the world of education. Technology becomes a tool for some learning problems. One of them is what happened to students of State Elementary School of Lialang. The problem with the first-grade students of State Elementary School of Lialang was that there were students who find it difficult to learn and have difficulty understanding the material. The author's purpose in assisting students is to help students who do not understand the material given by the teacher. The excellent community service work program that the author does in the field of education is a mentoring program for first-grade students’ learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity was carried out for 1 month in July 2021 in Lialang Village, precisely at State Elementary School of Lialang, Serang City, Banten online and offline. The online learning process used Whatsapp Group Video Calls, while offline learning through visit once a week 5 to 6 students go to school for 2 hours by complying with the Covid-19 health protocols. The authors hope that the program that be implemented goes well and after the implementation of this program can help first-grade students who have difficulty in the learning process. In the future, the authors hope that the learning process during this pandemic will continue to make students enthusiastic about learning and can make the Indonesian people smarter even though trough different modes.

Abstract

Google Meet and Power Point are applications and media that are often used to help with online learning or distance learning. The process of introducing the Google Meet application and Power Point media as a form of effective learning activity platforms during the Covid-19 period. The program purpose is to make students of State of Elementary School of Sindangmandi, Baros District, Serang Regency not bored in participating in online learning. This program is the goal of the UPI 2021 Thematic Field Study program as a community service in the field of Education. The method used is to provide assistance to the teachers of State of Elementary School Sindangmandi about the use of the Google Meet application and Power Point media. It is intended so that the teachers can use these applications and media as online learning media in online learning. The authors hope the workshop and assistance will bring effective learning because of the interaction between teachers and students. The assistance was carried out during July 2021. The assistance was carried out offline at school and the discussion stage was online through WhatsApp groups. The target of this program is the teacher council of State of Elementary School of Sindangmandi who were still not familiar with the use of the application. With this activity, the teacher of State of Elementary School Sindangmandi can succeed in making Power Point media and use them in virtual meeting through Google Meet.

Abstract

GCompris is an educational game with many choices of game categories that are suitable for early childhood. Introducing the GCompris educational game application as a form of learning activity at home so that children can continue to study comfortably and not easily get bored with parents of students at the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini, Majasari District, Pandeglang Regency is the goal of the 2021 UPI Thematic community service program activity as a form of community service. The method used in this activity is to provide an introduction and socialization about the use of GCompris educational game learning media for children. This activity is intended because kindergarten students need learning media that are not boring while at home. The socialization of the introduction of this educational game was carried out from July to September 2021. The socialization was carried out offline at school and online through the WhatsApp group. The program targets in this activity are 10 parents of the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini students. Through this activity, parents of students at the State Kindergarten School of RA Kartini can find out educational games that are useful for children as digital learning media and can be accessed easily at home. At the end of the program, parents feel the benefits from understanding the potential of the application and how to introduce to their children.

Abstract

The use of effective learning media for students is a non-negotiable need. Especially during the pandemic, the online learning system requires teachers to be creative in preparing interesting and fun teaching materials for students so that the information conveyed in learning can be effectively accepted and understood by students. In today's world of education, infographics can be a new option for teachers in delivering lessons to their students. By using infographics as teaching aids, it is as if we are telling a visual story to our students. This community service in the form of a workshop aimed to help elementary school teachers of the UPI Serang Campus Teaching Laboratory Elementary School in improving their skills in making infographic learning media. It is hoped that the results of this community service is to make Teaching Laboratory Elementary School teachers to be able to make infographic learning media to be an alternative in presenting learning media that support an effective and fun learning process for students.
