Abstract

Indonesia's population is increasing yearly, which has led to a decrease in water supply in several places, including the Sekayam Sub-district, Sanggau District, and West Kalimantan Province. The Rintau irrigation area (D.I.Rintau), located in Sekayam Sub-district, has a potential size of 528.52 Ha. However, due to land conversion for communities and plantations, its functional area is only 224.94 Ha. In addition to reducing the amount of available land, Rintau irrigation has issues with crops and plants that do not match the water supply of the irrigation system. This research aims to get the most suitable cropping pattern in Rintau irrigation related to water availability. The analysis includes water availability with the Mock Model, NFR analysis, water demand in the retrieval building (DR), and water balance analysis.  According to the analysis results, the maximum mainstay discharge of raw water sources used by Rintau irrigation is 707.512 l/sec, the minimum mainstay discharge is 114.200 l/sec, and the average mainstay discharge is 402.619 l/sec. The most suitable cropping pattern used in Rintau Irrigation is the rice-paddy-cucumber cropping pattern, with a maximum NFR value of 8.146 mm/day or 0.943 lt/sec, and the beginning of the first planting period in the first half of August and starting planting 2 in the first half of December. Thus, the Rice-Paddy-Cucumber cropping pattern can be applied to Rintau irrigation to increase food production. Its management must be pursued using appropriate cropping technology.

Abstract

Agricultural production is critical to meeting Indonesia's food demands. The water catchment area of Parit Keladi 1, located in Desa Parit Keladi, Kecamatan Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, includes tidal swamp land that has a variety of plants. The Cropwat 8.0 Software will be used in this research to assess crop water needs. This research employs primary and secondary data, including soil samples, field cropping patterns, and plant hydration levels. The type of clay soil was silty, the field cropping pattern at the study site was paddy, and the height of the water puddle on paddy was 3 mm/day/ha, according to the findings of primary data analysis on soil sampling. The maximum water need for paddy was 5.90 mm/day/ha in March period 1, while the lowest water requirement was 0 mm/day/ha in October period 1. The maximum water need for citrus was 2.62 mm/day/ha in August for period 3, while the lowest water requirement was 0 mm/day/ha from October to December and May to June for period 1. In September Period 3, the crop water required in the Cropwat 8.0 Software was 32.2 mm/day/ha for ten days; however, the water level in the field was 3 mm/ha for one day in late September. Thus, the estimate of water demands for rice plants using the Cropwat 8.0 Program is valid.

Abstract

The Kapuas River is a very important water transportation route in West Kalimantan, crossing 5 districts and 1 city. The problem that occurs in the shipping lane on the Kapuas River is the accumulation of severe sediment at the mouth of the estuary. This becomes an obstacle for ships with large loads to sail, for this reason, this research was carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the dominant direction of waves and sediment transport. This study was calculated using the CERC (Coastal Engineering Research Centre) method and using secondary data. It was found that the dominant wave direction came from the North (N) direction with an incidence percentage of 22.496%. Percentage of occurrence from the Northwest (NW) direction is 12.145%, from the West (W) direction is 6.253%, and from the Southwest direction (SW) is 11.724%. While the amount of sediment transport from the Northwest is -393062.1306 m3/year with the characteristics of the sediment being clay, from the West it is -250.1672 m3/year with the sediment characteristics being silty clay and from the Southwest, it is 579090.2782 m3/year with sediment characteristics of silty clay. The results of the sediment calculation have negative results which indicate that there is no sediment transport from the Northwest and West, but the sediment is deposited. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out appropriate handling of these problems to reduce sediment build-up in the study area.

Abstract

This study discusses the effect of the addition of resin fibers (Dicranopteris linearis) on the characteristics of concrete. The purpose of fibers to the characteristics of concrete. horns, anti-termite, not easily broken and resistant to humid air and is a plant that grows a lot in Pagar Alam City area. Therefore, the researchers decided to examine the effect of adding resin rod fibers to the characteristics of concrete. characteristics of this concrete is an experimental method that is tested, namely the physical material test, slump test, compressive and flexural strength of concrete. Experiments with the addition of resin rod fibers to the concrete mix of 0.5% of the weight of normal concrete cement. All samples were tested at the age of 3,7,14,21 and 28 days. Based on the test results, 3 cm and 5 cm long resin fibers were used. At 3 cm compressive strength of 28 day old concrete decreased by 0.36% from normal concrete with flexural strength increased by 0.02% of normal concrete while at 5 cm compressive strength of 28 day old concrete decreased by 0.66% of concrete normal while the flexural increase as much as 0.04% of normal concrete. The decrease in compressive strength is due to the addition of impregnated fibers into the concrete which will create more voids or voids in the concrete, the reduced density of concrete and disruption of the bond between cement and other concrete aggregates and the increase in flexural strength is caused because the resin fibers play a role in resisting cracks due to the pressure exerted by them. occurs in the concrete so as to increase the flexural strength of the concrete.

Abstract

CV. Artha Agung Bersama is an andesite mining company that uses a blasting system. This mining activity can harm workers if they do not apply good K3 management in blasting activities. One of the hazards of blasting activity is flying rock. For this reason, it is necessary to identify potential hazards, assess the level of accident risk, and recommend risk control efforts. The method in this study is the HIRAC (hazard identification risk assessment and control) method. This activity has five potential hazards: broken drum straps, worker negligence, explosive sounds, fly rock, and workers walking in a hurry in locations with a lot of gravel. There are five risks of accidents from potential hazards: being hit by a drum, scratched hands, pinched fingers forming a critical cover, slipping, exposure to diesel fuel, hearing loss, and being hit by a rock. Of the five hazard risks, three risks are included in the priority one category, namely: scratched hands, pinched fingers forming key covers, slipping, exposure to diesel fuel, and being hit by rocks. One risk is included in priority category three: being hit by a drum. One risk category is very high, namely being hit by a rock. The recommended risk control hierarchy for blasting activities is engineering control, administration, and personal protective equipment.

Abstract

Due to workers' lack of awareness regarding the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in the workplace, the level of work safety in Indonesia still needs to be higher. Construction projects require effective risk management in order to reduce workplace accidents. The construction project for the provision of sanitation facilities and infrastructure at religious education institutions works on the construction of the bathroom, latrines, toilets, ablution facilities, hand washing facilities, and clothes washing facilities, as well as a domestic wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). This study aims to identify hazards based on the project under study, analyze the OHS risk assessment based on the Minister of Public Works Regulation No. 10 of 2021, and analyze the hazards and risk control efforts at each project stage. The result of this study showed that there are 78 risks found in 9 stages of work. Based on the risk assessment of the project under study, two levels of risk were identified, namely low risk and medium risk. A score of a moderate risk level of 6.57 was found in the installation of fabricated WWTP that showed injury risk due to materials and equipment at the Al-Muttaqin Islamic Boarding School, Mubarak Islamic Boarding School, and Darul Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, falling risk due to uneven surface conditions in the Pondok Pesantren Darul Ihsan Islamic Boarding School and the risk of falling into a dug hole at the Nahdotus Shibiyan Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

PT. Candi Loka Jamus switched to using micro hydro power plants to meet its electrical energy needs because of the high operational costs and environmental impact of fuel oil power plants. However, during the dry season, the micro hydro power plant is unable to produce enough energy to meet the needs, which could lead to damage of its components and decreased performance. To address this issue, the energy potential of the micro hydro power plant was calculated using operational time simulation and season time simulation. The rain data was analysed using the double mass curve analysis method and arithmetic mean method to calculate the discharge throughout the year. The dependable discharge was calculated using the F.J. Mock method and the basic year method, and the physical potential formula was used to calculate the energy potential. Based on the calculations, the dependable discharge energy potentials of Q80, Q70, Q50, and Q30 were found to be 569,173.91 KWh, 614,737.01 KWh, 589,640.81 KWh, and 619,855.44 KWh, respectively. The efficient operating time of the micro hydro power plant was determined based on the Q80 dependable discharge energy potential with a simulation of operational time. The plant should be active from January 1 to August 15, deactivated for maintenance purposes from August 16 to October 31, and reactivated from November 1 to December 31. With an active period of 287 days, the Jamus micro hydro power plant has an energy potential of 488,732.17 KWh in one year.

Abstract

The research site is located in one of the hamlets in Puri village, which has an agricultural land area of approximately 25 hectares. Because of its fertile soil conditions, the land is very suitable for agriculture. However, the agricultural productivity in Puri village has decreased due to changing weather conditions. Puri village, Puri district, Mojokerto regency, has a flat landscape. The duration of the dry season is slightly longer, affecting the availability of water and causing a change in the initial cropping period. As a result, the cropping pattern in the village is not appropriate, leading to a decrease in agricultural productivity. To solve these problems, an optimal cropping pattern needs to be planned to increase agricultural productivity in the village. In order to plan the optimal cropping pattern, the first thing that needs to be done is to calculate the availability of existing water. Then, the need for irrigation water should be calculated. Using the two sets of calculation data, the optimal cropping pattern can be planned with linear program. The analysis is revealed that Puri village has an optimal cropping pattern with a Paddy-Corn-Corn cropping model and an initial planting period in December period 2.

Abstract

Flooding frequently occurs in the Simorejo Settlement Area, Simomulyo Village, Sukomanunggal Sub-District, Surabaya City, Indonesia. Recent flooding revealed that the existing channel's capacity was insufficient to handle flood discharge. Therefore, an evaluation of the drainage channels was carried out to determine design and existing flood discharges and channel re-designing measures. Rain data from 2012 to 2021, for the last decade, was used in the evaluation. Maximum rainfall was calculated using the arithmetic method, while design and existing channel discharges were calculated based on the rational method with a maximum rainfall of 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years. The calculation results showed that the channel condition was unable to accommodate the planned flood discharge with a 2-year, 5-year, and 10-year return period. Consequently, re-designing was carried out using a trial and error method until the channel was able to accommodate the design of flood discharge. The re-designing process resulted in an enlarged drainage channel cross-section with dimensions of 1.2 m x 1 m x 1 m.
