Abstract

The Era of Society 5.0 places Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at a critical intersection between the necessity of pedagogical adaptation and the obligation to maintain transcendental integrity. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, which is derived from Western pragmatism epistemology, has proven to have an ontological deficit because it negates the transcendental dimension as the main axis of religious education. On the other hand, there is currently no instructional syntax that comprehensively deconstructs secular CTL and reconstructs it based on Islamic Epistemology to address the challenges of Society 5.0 disruption. Objective: This research aims to (1) analyze the epistemological limitations of Western CTL thru the perspective of Islamic Epistemology, and (2) formulate an instructional syntax for contextual PAI learning design that operationally integrates the pillars of CTL with evidence from the Qur'an and Hadith. Method: This qualitative research based on library research applies the Conceptual Framework Analysis approach integrated with qualitative content analysis. Data was extracted from authoritative texts of the Qur'an, Hadith, tafsir books, and globally reputable journal literature (Scopus and Web of Science), verified thru source triangulation. Results: This research produces: (1) An Epistemological Deconstruction Matrix that maps the limitations of the seven pillars of secular CTL and the Islamic foundation as its alternative; and (2) A Contextual PAI Instructional Design in the form of a continuous seven-phase syntax cycle: Bina' Ma'rifah, Istiqra’ wa Tadabbur, Sual wa Jawab, Majelis Ilmi wa Syura, Uswah Hasanah, Muhasabah, and Mizanul Amal. This design has proven to realize the eight dimensions of the graduate profile of the Merdeka Curriculum and acts as a proactive mitigation instrument against moral crises and digital radicalism. The novelty of this study lies in the formulation of a closed-loop instructional system that is adaptive to the disruptions of Society 5.0 civilization with a comprehensive eschatological accountability.

Abstract

Mountain climbing is a high-risk activity that demands good decision-making skills, self-regulation, and psychological readiness. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the criteria that respondents are 18 years old and above and have a hobby of mountain climbing. The minimum sample size for the study was set at 68 participants based on G Power analysis. Data collection was conducted using a validated Likert scale, and data analysis was performed using two-predictor regression and product-moment correlation with the help of SPSS 27.0 for Windows. The research results show a very significant relationship between impulsivity and mental toughness with risk-taking behavior, with an R value of 0.792, an F value of 79.156, and a significance of 0.000 (p<0.01), as well as an effective contribution of 62.7%. Partially, impulsivity has a very significant positive relationship with risk-taking behavior with an R value of 0.776 and an effective contribution of 60.2%. Meanwhile, mental toughness has a very significant negative relationship with risk-taking behavior with an R value of -0.710 and an effective contribution of 50.4%. These findings indicate that the higher the impulsivity, the higher the risk-taking behavior, while the higher the mental toughness, the lower the tendency for risk-taking behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Semester Final Examination (UAS) test instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for the IPAS subject in the 4th grade of Elementary School. The background of this research is the still low ability of students' higher-order thinking, caused by the dominance of Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) based questions in learning evaluation. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an assessment instrument that can measure students' critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a development model that includes the stages of needs analysis, design, product development, expert validation, testing, and product revision. Validation was conducted by 2 validators consisting of subject matter experts and evaluation experts, while the instrument trial was carried out on 30 fourth-grade elementary school students. The validation results showed that the instrument received a very valid category with a feasibility percentage of 89%, while the reliability results indicated a reliability coefficient of 0.87 with a high category. The developed instrument consists of HOTS-based UAS questions on the IPAS material for fourth-grade elementary school students and is deemed suitable for use after undergoing the validation and revision process. This instrument is also deemed capable of measuring students' higher-order thinking skills more effectively compared to conventional instruments. The main contribution of this research is to produce a valid, reliable, and practical HOTS-based evaluation instrument to improve the quality of IPAS learning assessments in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the learning outcomes of IPAS students using two forms of formative tests, namely written formative tests and oral formative tests, among fifth-grade students at SDN Benteng Jampea No. 56, Kepulauan Selayar. This research employs a quantitative approach with a simple experimental method. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques were carried out thru the administration of two forms of formative tests, observation, and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques to determine the difference in the impact of the two forms of formative tests on students' learning outcomes. The research results showed that both forms of formative tests had a positive impact on students' IPAS learning outcomes, but the written formative test showed more effective results compared to the oral formative test. This was evident from the difference in the average learning outcomes of students after the implementation of the two forms of tests. In addition, students became more active, motivated, and found it easier to understand the learning material during the learning process. Based on the data analysis results, it was found that there is a significant difference between the use of written formative tests and oral formative tests on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in IPAS at SDN Benteng Jampea No. 56, Selayar Islands. Thus, both forms of formative tests can be used as learning evaluation strategies, but written formative tests are more effective in improving the learning outcomes of elementary school students in IPAS.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of the School Literacy Movement (GLS) program in elementary schools in the Selayar Islands. The focus of the research includes aspects of planning, implementation, supporting facilities, participation of school community members, and the impact of the program on improving the literacy culture of students. The research uses a descriptive evaluative approach with the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research subjects consisted of school principals, teachers, and students from several elementary schools in the Selayar Islands. Data collection techniques were carried out thru observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively to obtain a comprehensive picture of the program's effectiveness. The research results show that the implementation of the School Literacy Movement in elementary schools in the Selayar Islands has been quite successful, especially in the activity of reading for 15 minutes before lessons begin. The support of the principal and teachers has been the main factor in the program's success. However, several obstacles are still found, such as limited reading collections, inadequate library facilities, low parental involvement, and suboptimal use of digital literacy media. From the aspect of results, the GLS program has a positive impact on students' reading interest, reading comprehension skills, and reading habits, although the improvement is not yet uniform across all schools. Based on the evaluation results, there is a need to improve literacy facilities, strengthen collaboration between schools and parents, and provide ongoing training for teachers in the development of innovative literacy activities. Thus, the School Literacy Movement Program in the Selayar Islands is expected to build a sustainable literacy culture and improve the quality of primary education.

Abstract

Debates on Islamic tolerance continue to turn on the relation between doctrinal conviction, freedom of conscience, and public coexistence in plural societies. This article examines how Muḥammad ʿImārah’s Al-Samāḥah al-Islāmiyyah constructs Islamic tolerance as coexistence ethics. Using directed qualitative content analysis, the study analyzes textual units concerning Qur'anic non-coercion, the Medina Charter, the Najran Covenant, historical coexistence, and critiques of coercive exclusivism. The analysis shows that ʿImārah organizes tolerance through four interrelated categories: theological non-coercion, constitutional pluralism, active protection of religious communities, and historical participation in Islamic civilization. Its contribution lies in reading Al-Samāḥah al-Islāmiyyah as a unified textual construction that links faith, law, citizenship, protection, and participation. Indonesia is used only as a theoretical context for discussing the relevance of these categories to religious moderation and national coexistence, not as an empirical field site. The article argues that al-samāḥah can function as an Islamic ethical-political vocabulary for defending religious freedom, inclusive citizenship, minority protection, and interfaith solidarity in plural societies.

Abstract

The scientific reasoning ability of elementary school students still needs to be improved, particularly in understanding cause-and-effect relationships, making predictions, and drawing conclusions based on observational results. This problem was identified in science learning on the topic of forces in Grade IV of SDN Taman Rahayu 04, where most students tended to memorize concepts without being able to explain phenomena logically. This study aims to develop STEAM-based Big Bergaya media as a learning medium capable of helping students understand the concept of forces while training their scientific reasoning skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D model, consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects comprised 21 Grade IV students of SDN Taman Rahayu 04. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, observations, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest assessments. The results showed that the developed media had a very high validity level with CVR and CVI values of 1.00. The media also achieved a practicality level of 91.19%, categorized as very practical. Furthermore, the effectiveness test results indicated an N-Gain value of 0.71 in the high category and Cohen's d effect size of 1.583. These findings indicate that STEAM-based Big Bergaya media is effective in improving students' scientific reasoning ability in elementary school science learning.
