Abstract

Basic teaching skills are skills that prospective teacher students must have. This research aims to determine the level of basic teaching skills in teaching practice among Biology Education students taking the Micro Teaching course in class A group B in 2022/2023. Data was collected from observations of student teaching practices through peer teaching. The instrument used is an observation sheet derived from indicators of eight aspects of basic teaching skills, with answer choices using a Likert scale. The data was analyzed descriptively by calculating the average score obtained by each indicator on the eight aspects of basic teaching skills observed. The observation results show that students' average in all aspects of basic teaching skills is very good. In contrast, the results of observations on the indicators for each element of skills show categories that vary from quite good, good, and very good. It can be concluded that students have been able to apply the eight aspects of basic teaching skills in teaching practice very well. However, if we look at the indicators for each aspect of skills, there are still students in the quite good and good categories.

Abstract

SEM testing was used to evaluate the homogeneity of the film, including pores, cracks, and surface structure, as well as to determine the cross-section and surface structure and the homogeneity of the film solution mixture. The study aims to determine the microstructure characteristics of whey film by adding different concentrations of chia seed and 35% sorbitol as a plasticizer. This study employed three treatments: P1 with 0.5% chia seed, P2 with 0.75% chia seed, and P3 with 1% chia seed. The research method used was descriptive, providing a detailed description of the process. The results indicate that adding more polymer increases the viscosity of the film suspension during the gelatinization process. The film's microstructure was determined by the heating and drying process, as well as the contribution of chia seed gel to the whey film structure. All treatments achieved a Homogeneous film microstructure, but the 1% concentration treatment resulted in a swollen surface structure. The chia seed was evenly mixed into the whey protein matrix, resulting in a uniform structure.

Abstract

Clean water is a type of water-based resource that is of good quality and is commonly used by humans for consumption or in carrying out daily activities. Clean water quality that meets standards/quality is very difficult to obtain because river water quality has been polluted by various kinds of waste from various human activities, so that the potential impact on river quality decreases both in terms of quantity and quality. 70% of the Deli River pollution is solid and liquid waste, domestic waste, industrial waste, and along the Deli River it has affected the quality of the river water. To quantitatively identify air quality, the Statistical Quality Control method can be used. Statistical quality control is a collection of strategies, techniques, and actions taken to ensure that they produce a quality product. The aim of this research is to determine the control of the water quality of the Deli River in Medan City using Statistical Quality Control. Based on the data obtained, the water quality standards of the Deli River in the Sumatra II River Basin Agency from January 2023 - December 2023 have not been statistically controlled because there are several data samples that are out of control. Then, Deli River water quality control was carried out based on graphic control using SQC (Statistical Quality Control). The results of quality control using SQC show that SQC provides different controls, because in SQC TDS control on data on controlled 3 times, while the and R data on DO, the and R data on and and R data for fatty oil are controlled.

Abstract

The Kerandangan TWA conservation area has high biodiversity, but much of it is unknown, including grasshoppers. This research aims to analyze the diversity of grasshoppers in the area. Grasshopper samples were collected on two transects determined purposively. This collection was carried out over two months, namely October to November 2022. Data on species and numbers were analyzed descriptively. This analysis includes abundance, richness index, diversity index, and species evenness index. Our findings show that there are 8 species of grasshoppers from the families Acrididae, Pyrgomorphidae, Catantopidae, and Tettigoniidae. The most abundant species was Stenocatantops splendens, whose proportion was 66.67%. The species richness, diversity, and evenness indexes were 2.06, 1.27, and 0.61, respectively. This shows that grasshopper biodiversity in Kerandangan TWA is relatively low. However, it must be conserved because of its essential role in maintaining regional ecological processes.

Abstract

The learning model has an influence on the success of achieving learning objectives. One of the learning models that can improve the skills of students is the RADEC learning model. The syntax contained in the RADEC learning model can help learner-centered learning, namely Read, Answer, Discuss, Explain and Create (RADEC). Currently, collaboration is one of the learning activities that is very popular with students, where currently collaboration skills are found in the 4C skills of the 21st century, however, there are still many students who are still passive in collaborative learning activities. Science and Technology is one of the lessons in the current independent curriculum. This research aims to improve collaboration skills in students using the RADEC learning model. This research uses a classroom action research (PTK) model which is carried out in two cycles consisting of four stages starting from planning, action, observation and reflection. The implementation of learning in this research was carried out using the syntax contained in the RADEC learning model. The selection of research subjects was carried out through purposive sampling techniques and the research subjects in this study were class IV B students with a total of 32 students. Data collection techniques in research are observation and interviews. The results of this research showed an increase from the implementation of cycle I, namely at meeting one and meeting 2 there was an increase of 6.6% and in cycle 2 at meeting 1 and meeting 2 there was an increase of 13.34%. Based on the results of this research, it can be seen that implementing learning using the RADEC learning model can improve students' collaboration skills in science learning. Based on the research that has been done, it can be said that the RADEC learning model can improve student collaboration skills in the learning process which is marked by the fulfillment of collaboration skill indicators by students.

Abstract

Gold is an investment with the smallest risk because it can be sold anytime and anywhere. In Indonesia, gold bullion as an investment product is known for its purity level of 99.99%, namely gold bullion produced by PT. Aneka Tambang (Antam) through its Precious Metals business unit. Apart from its pure production, Antam gold bullion is easier to resell anytime and anywhere because it has an official certificate from the international gold standardisation institution, namely LBMA (London Bullion Market Association), to more easily estimate the value of gold bullion when sold. To overcome this, predictions of future gold prices are needed. In this research, one of the prediction methods is Support Vector Regression with the Grid Search Algorithm. In this method this method will be used to predict the price of gold, which aims to predict and find out the price of gold one year in the future to produce a level accuracy (MAPE) of 5.43% and the prediction of gold prices increasing from 2023-June-01 to 2024-March-23 while experiencing a decline starting in 2024-March-24. Research by examining the relationship between variables, which emphasises data consisting of numbers so that it is analysed based on statistical procedures using the Support Vector Regression method with data sourced from the daily price of gold bullion through PT. Gallery 24 Pawnshops, North Sumatra. Where this method is very well used in predicting by choosing the best kernel used is the linear kernel because, from these three kernels, the best hyperparameters were obtained for predicting gold price movements using a linear kernel with a division for training and testing data of 60: 40. The MAPE value obtained was 5.43.

Abstract

Researchers have widely reported that Kombucha is a probiotic drink with health benefits. Some researchers are innovating to find other kombucha media sources besides tea that contain high bioactive compounds. Kecombrang flowers contain high bioactive compounds and have physiological functions for health, but this plant has not been widely explored for other innovative beverage or food products. This study aimed to determine the optimal fermentation time of kecombrang flower kombucha (Etlingera elatior) to produce the highest antioxidant activity during fermentation. The experimental design used was a complete randomized design (CRD) with 7 variations of fermentation time (days 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18) with a sugar concentration of 10% b/v, and this treatment was repeated four times. In this research, pH, total acid, and total flavonoid tests were also carried out to see the characteristics of the kecombrang flower kombucha drink during fermentation. Data analysis was performed with an ANOVA at P < 0,05. The results showed that the length of fermentation time had a very significant effect (P < 0,01) on the antioxidant activity of Kombucha. These results indicate that the size of fermentation time affects the antioxidant activity of kecombrang flower kombucha. Optimal antioxidant activity was obtained after the kombucha drink was fermented for 6 days, as indicated by the low IC 50 value of 37,73 g/mL, with a pH of 3,7, total acid of 0,33%, and total flavonoids of 5,9 mg/L QE. Based on a research study, kecombrang flower kombucha has strong antioxidant activity (IC50 < 50 ppm), so kecombrang flower kombucha can be used as a choice for functional drinks.
