Abstract

This research was conducted in Werdhi Agung Village, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi, which is the location of the Pemaksan Panti Batur Sari Temple. This research aims to reveal and describe the form, function and meaning contained in the Gelung Temple of Pura Panti Batur Sari from a religious and aesthetic perspective from a Hindu religious perspective. This research uses a qualitative approach to obtain actual information to answer existing problems. The data sources obtained in this research were obtained from observation, interviews with sources, and literature study. From the research results, it is known that the Gelung Temple at Pemaksan Panti Batur Sari Temple has a tall shape and a roof that tapers upwards as a symbol of a mountain. The temple is divided into three parts, namely the foot of the temple, the body of the temple, and the roof of the temple. Organic ornaments were also found, namely Flora, Fauna, Humans. Most of the ornaments in Gelung Temple are also realized in the form of Lelengisan ornaments.

Abstract

One aspect that is considered a sign of a school's progress is its ability to adapt to technological developments. SMA Negeri 1 Kumelembuai is an example of a school that has successfully adapted to technological developments. Even though adequate technological learning facilities are available, it is not certain that students can become creative individuals without the guidance of teachers who also have high creativity. This has proven important in developing students' potential through creative and innovative learning approaches. The present study aims at describing the the fine arts learning at SMA Negeri 1 Kumelembuai where the the students used bamboo as the artwork media. This research amployed a qualitative approach as a research method. The reason for choosing a qualitative approach is because this approach allows researchers and research subjects to interact during the research process, which allows changes and development of the research design. The results of this research show that the use of bamboo waste as a medium for creating art by class X at SMA Negeri 1 Kumelembuai is a new innovation, with the potential to produce works of art that can be developed into a home industry.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the implementation of Musical Inculturation takes place during Mass in the Catholic Churches within the Tomohon archdiocese. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data for this research is derived from interviews, photographs, and audio as well as video recordings. The theoretical framework encompasses musicology, music psychology, theology, ethnomusicology, and the Theory of PML, asserting that inculturation involves several stages, including translation, transition, adaptation, and the creation of new elements. The study substantiates that Inculturation in the Tomohon Archdiocese is widely embraced by the congregation, enhancing their faith, particularly during liturgical celebrations of the Mass. The infusion of culture into the liturgy deepens the congregation's connection with the divine, and according to the research findings and interviews with the congregation, it is evident that the presence of enculturated music in the Church has heightened the meaning of liturgical celebrations for the congregation. The enthusiasm among the congregation is notably high, and there is a consistent longing for the divine presence. The congregation expresses joy as the profound values of culture are accorded a special place in the Mass.

Abstract

This present study aims at exploring the implementation of Beginner Guitar Music Learning through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research focuses on understanding how the Problem Based Learning model is employed in the context of learning beginner guitar music. The qualitative method with a pedagogical approach was employed for data collection, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that, in the preparatory phase for implementing music learning activities at SMA Negeri 1 Tondano, comprehensive planning is essential. This involves developing semester programs, syllabuses, lesson plans, learning media, and teaching materials. Moreover, the cultural arts (music) teachers conduct a thorough assessment of each student's abilities, considering their interests, needs, and profiles. This information aids in tailoring the learning process to accommodate different learning styles. The study contributes valuable insights into the practical application of the Problem Based Learning model in the domain of beginner guitar music education.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore and characterize the extracurricular choir learning activities at SMA Negeri 1 Tondano, with a specific focus on the choir training initiatives implemented to enhance students' creativity in the realm of music. Employing a descriptive qualitative research approach, this study utilized observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The research findings revealed that the teachers employed instructional methods including the demonstration, question-and-answer, and exercise techniques. The teachers in charge of the choir extracurricular implemented various strategies such as planning, execution, and assessment. The choir training process encompassed song material preparation, sheet music analysis, and a structured sequence of activities. This sequence commenced with an opening prayer, followed by warm-up exercises incorporating muscle stretching, breathing drills, and vocal warm-ups. Subsequently, students engaged in the practice of analyzed songs, correcting dynamics, vocals, and articulation, while also applying and fortifying expressions and movements in harmony with the song's intended message. The session concluded with advice, motivation, and a closing prayer.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the functions and forms of Rodat art in Desa Kampung Jawa Tondano (Jaton), North Tondano District, Minahasa Regency. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods through literature review, interviews, and document analysis. The research findings reveal the following aspects: First, the history of Rodat art in Jaton is closely related to the exile of Kiay Modjo and his friends who brought and taught traditional arts, including Rodat art. As a second point, Rodat art in Kampung Jawa Tondano has a service dimension for both private and public purposes, with individual tasks that include the fulfillment of material and psychological requirements. The religious, communicative, educational and recreational purposes of Rodat art in Jaton have significant relevance for the community. Third, the presentation structure of the Rodat art performance in Kampung Jawa Tondano involves elements such as presentation order, stage design, props, costumes, amplification, and lighting. The first recommendation is addressed to the Minahasa Regency Government, especially the Education Office, to include Rodat art in the school curriculum of Kampung Jawa Tondano. The second goal is to support the continuity of the Rodat art tradition in Kampung Jawa Tondano by inspiring the next generation to appreciate and practice this art.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the existence and continuity of Masambo singing in Tumaratas Dua Village. Qualitative research methods were applied by utilizing documentation, interview, and observation techniques. A musical approach, particularly through theories in ethnomusicology and music psychology, was used to analyze various aspects of Masambo Singing. The research findings include several things: first, Masambo singing functions as a form of community expression, conveying prayer requests, expressions of gratitude, and as a means of communication. Second, the existence of Masambo singing provides significant benefits in maintaining cultural continuity and strengthening community solidarity. Third, the lyrics in Masambo singing are constantly changing according to the needs of the community. Fourth, the times affect the continuity of Masambo singing. Fifth, Masambo singing contains social values such as honor, mutual cooperation, deliberation, and sacrifice. Sixth, changes in Masambo singing are influenced by social, religious, cultural, and economic factors.
