Abstract

The issue of women’s leadership, particularly in religious organizations such as Aisyiyah, faces ongoing challenges in the optimal development of leadership character. Strengthening leadership character is essential to ensure that female cadres possess resilience, integrity, and managerial competence to take on strategic roles in society. This program was carried out as a community service initiative with the aim of enhancing the leadership capacity of Aisyiyah cadres through an integrated training program facilitated by an interdisciplinary team of lecturers. The methods applied included interactive training, focused group discussions (FGDs), case simulations, and personal reflection exercises, all designed to develop leadership grounded in progressive Islamic values that emphasize justice, equality, and responsibility. The results revealed that the cadres showed increased understanding of leadership principles, greater confidence in assuming organizational responsibilities, and improved ability in planning and making strategic decisions. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary approach encouraged collaboration and broadened perspectives in addressing challenges within the organization. This initiative confirms that community-based leadership training rooted in both values and practical application can effectively build leadership character among women in faith-based organizations. In addition, the program contributes to strengthening Aisyiyah’s institutional capacity while empowering female cadres to play transformative roles in advancing society.

Abstract

The afternoon tutoring program organized by the students of the Community Service Program (KKN) from Nusa Nipa University in Mbengu Village represents a community engagement effort aimed at improving the quality of primary education in rural areas. The background of this activity lies in the low learning motivation and the limited basic literacy and numeracy skills (reading, writing, and arithmetic) still experienced by many elementary school students, both in lower and upper grades. This condition poses a challenge to the teaching and learning process, thereby requiring innovation and structured academic assistance. The main objective of this program is not only to strengthen students’ academic skills but also to foster motivation, independence, and self-confidence in learning. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, execution, and evaluation. The program was conducted at the Holy Cross Parish of Mauloo on July 6, 12, 23, and 28, 2025, with a frequency of once per week. During the activities, KKN students divided participants into small groups based on their level of ability. Each group received assistance in reading, writing, arithmetic, completing school assignments, and engaging with supplementary materials. These were delivered through interactive approaches such as discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and educational games designed to make learning enjoyable and meaningful. The results demonstrated significant improvements in students’ learning motivation, attendance discipline, active participation, and willingness to ask questions. Overall, the program proved effective in enhancing both the motivation and the quality of learning among elementary school students. Moreover, this activity can serve as a relevant alternative learning strategy that may be applied in rural areas through collaboration between university students, local communities, and schools.

Abstract

Plastic waste pollution has become an increasingly complex environmental challenge, especially in coastal areas and islands such as the Riau Islands Province. South Toapaya Village, located in Bintan Regency, faces serious problems related to waste accumulation, especially plastic, originating from household activities and waste flows from surrounding areas. This situation is exacerbated by a waste management system that is still limited, fragmented, and not yet fully sustainable. This article explores the potential of ecobricks as an innovative community-based approach to address this pressing issue. Ecobrick plastic bottles filled with clean, dry inorganic waste offer a simple yet effective strategy to reduce waste while producing modular building materials. The main focus of this study is the application of ecobricks in the construction of village landmark monuments, which are expected to become symbolic markers of local identity. This approach not only offers a technical solution to plastic pollution but also serves as a means to strengthen cultural identity and encourage collective community participation. The success of this initiative depends on continuous education, intensive socialization, and cross-sector collaboration. In this way, the project is expected to generate ecological and social benefits simultaneously, contributing to sustainable rural development in the region.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase public understanding of the circular economy concept and encourage its implementation in utilizing wetland potential in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. The outreach program was successfully conducted in Guntung Ujung Village, Gambut District, Banjar Regency on August 29, 2025. The results of this activity indicated an increase in the community's initial understanding of the concept and benefits of a circular economy. More than 50 participants, consisting of village residents, MSMEs, and village officials, attended the activity. Most participants expressed their readiness to apply circular economy principles in their economic activities. New initiatives, such as the processing of rice straw into compost by a farmer group, and the interest of a village women's group in developing purun and water hyacinth crafts, were identified. Based on the evaluation results, the team also identified challenges faced by residents, such as limited access to capital, a lack of understanding of wetland resource management, and a lack of supporting infrastructure. Therefore, the results of the circular economy outreach program will serve as the basis for further programs such as training and mentoring in assisted villages.

Abstract

Tugurejo Village is located in the Tugu District, Semarang City. The area has abundant natural resources in the fisheries sector and is supported by the surrounding mangrove ecosystem. The availability of these natural resources has encouraged the community to develop food processing through Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM). The challenges faced by UMKMs include a lack of understanding of business legality, underdeveloped product packaging and brand identity, and limited use of digital technology. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of UMKM actors in Tugurejo Urban Village, Semarang City, in terms of branding and business digitalization to support the development of locally-based coastal smart ecotourism. The approach used in this community service program is Participation Action Research (PAR), where the subjects are UMKM actors. The program was implemented through a series of socialization and technical assistance activities, covering branding education, product packaging, signage, promotional banners, and the development of a shared website: putritirangtugurejo.com.  These activities were able to increase the knowledge and skills of UMKM actors in Tugurejo Village. The results indicate a significant improvement in UMKM actors’ branding awareness, digital media usage, and readiness to compete in the creative economy and sustainable tourism ecosystem. This program demonstrates that collaborative and participatory approaches can effectively drive UMKMs toward becoming more adaptive, professional, and competitive in supporting smart ecotourism.

Abstract

In general aviation (GA) training, particularly on piston engine aircraft such as the Cessna 172 SP, cruising speed decisions are typically based on established standard procedures or instructor judgment, without economic calculations. This study introduces the Cost Index General Aviation (CIGA), adapted from airline operations, to enable more accurate and data-driven cruising speed selection. The study uses operational data from the Indonesian Civil Pilot Academy, Banyuwangi, and applies multiple linear regression (MLR), sensitivity analysis, and descriptive analytics to model the relationship between flight time, fuel consumption, and operating costs. CIGA is the ratio of the cost of time (instructor wage per hour) to the price of fuel, expressed in liters per hour. This index acts as a dynamic decision threshold: when the additional fuel burn per hour from a higher cruising speed is less than the CIGA value, flying at a higher speed is more cost-effective; when it exceeds the CIGA, flying at a slower speed is more economical. This study simulated flight patterns at various engine rpm levels between 2200 – 2650 rpm and found that 2400 rpm provided optimal performance under balanced operating conditions. A sensitivity analysis showed that fuel price had the greatest impact on profitability, followed by instructor wages and maintenance costs. The results indicate that the CIGA system can be a practical decision support tool for mangerial, finance, instructors and operators, offering cost savings of up to 12% per sortie for training purpose. This research contributes to the development of cost-effective, data-driven operations in the general aviation training environment.

Abstract

Empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digital marketing training is one of the tangible contributions made by community service students (KKN) in Cihampelas Village. This program was designed to address the challenges faced by small business owners in promoting their products in the digital era. The main activities included providing education on digital marketing strategies, designing business logos that represent product identity, and assisting in branding so that MSMEs can adapt to technological developments. In addition, students offered technical guidance on the use of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business as effective promotional tools. Special assistance was also provided to introduce the use of Google Maps, enabling local businesses to become more visible and easily accessible to potential customers. Through an interactive approach, the training emphasized not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on practice that participants could directly apply to their businesses. The outcomes of the program revealed improvements in digital literacy, greater awareness of the importance of business identity, and enhanced skills in utilizing digital platforms for promotion. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident through their active involvement in discussions and practice sessions, indicating that the need for digital skills among MSMEs is very high. Although there were still some limitations in technical mastery, this program successfully created a positive impact and opened opportunities for sustainable development of MSMEs in Cihampelas Village. It is expected that, after the program, local entrepreneurs will continue to develop their digital skills, allowing them to compete and expand their market reach in an increasingly competitive global environment.
