Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of mindfulness training on female nurses in reducing anxiety. This study had 10 research subjects who were divided into 2 groups, namely 5 subjects for the experimental group (KE) and 5 subjects for the control group (KK). The selection of subjects was carried out randomly. This study used a pre-test post-test control group design. This study used an anxiety scale, FFMQ scale, observation, and interview. Data analysis used Mann Whitney-U to see the difference in anxiety levels in KE and KK. Wilcoxon T-Test was used to see the difference in anxiety levels in KE and KK before and after being given mindfulness training. The results of the analysis showed a difference in anxiety levels in KE and KK with a Z value of -2.312 with a significance of 0.021 (p>0.05). The post-test anxiety score on KE was lower with an average value of 89.8, KK had an average value of 113. Further test results at follow-up in KE and KK showed a significant difference in anxiety levels with a Z value of -2.619 and a significance of 0.009 (p<0.05). The anxiety score at follow-up showed a lower level of anxiety in KE with a mean score of 68.8 while KK had a mean score of 114.4. The T-test showed that there was a difference in anxiety levels at the post-test and follow-up in KE after being given mindfulness training with KK who were not given the treatment. This finding shows that mindfulness training can reduce the anxiety level of female nurses in public hospitals.

Abstract

This research explores the dynamics of traditional leadership in the Ma'anyan Dayak community in East Kutai in the midst of modernity and digital transformation. Using a qualitative approach with interpretive phenomenological methods, this study delves into the subjective experience of an indigenous youth named TP in understanding, responding, and reflecting on changes to the values and structure of indigenous leadership in his community. The findings show that although the formal structure of indigenous leadership has experienced a decline in authority, basic values such as deliberation, mutual cooperation, respect for ancestors, and solidarity are still alive and maintained through cultural mechanisms. Youth play an important role in cultural revitalization, particularly through art studios, traditional craft training, and the use of social media as a space for documentation and informal education. Traditional leadership is no longer viewed only from the structural or hereditary side, but must have social credibility, personal charisma, and the ability to bridge local values with the demands of the times. Social media, for example, is an effective means of disseminating cultural values to the digital-native young generation. Theoretically, this research reinforces the concepts of symbolic leadership, charismatic authority, and mediatized traditions, which show that traditional leadership is not a static entity, but rather a dynamic and adaptive one. The main contribution of this study is to highlight the importance of local narratives as a form of resistance to cultural marginalization in national discourse as well as to open up space for community-based policies and interventions. With the active involvement of the younger generation and a participatory approach, indigenous leadership can remain relevant, live socially, and be part of the solution in building an empowered and dignified future of indigenous communities.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and evaluate the economic value and production of hydroponic melon cultivation using Gandasil B, as well as the effect of its application on hydroponic melon (Cucumis melo L.), and to determine the most optimal dosage of Gandasil B. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, UKI Toraja, Tallunglipu Subdistrict, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi, from March to June 2025. The method used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four levels of Gandasil B treatment: (G0 = control), (G1 = 1.5 cc/liter of water), (G2 = 3 cc/liter of water), and (G3 = 4.5 cc/liter of water). The AB Mix concentration was applied as follows: 0–7 days after planting = 500 ppm, 8–14 days after planting = 750 ppm, 15–21 days after planting = 1000 ppm, 22–28 days after planting = 1250 ppm, 29–35 days after planting = 1500 ppm, and from 36 days until harvest = 2000 ppm. Observation variables included plant height, number of leaves, leaf diameter, number of branches, number of flowers, fruit diameter, fruit weight, and fruit weight per plot. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) for RBD and followed by the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at a 0.05 significance level

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the economic value of melon production using Gandasil B and its application effect on melon plants (Cucumis melo L.), as well as to determine the optimal dosage of Gandasil B that provides the most effective impact. The research was conducted in the Screen House of the Faculty of Agriculture, UKI Toraja, Tallunglipu District, North Toraja Regency. The method employed was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatment levels of Gandasil B foliar fertilizer: G0 (control, without Gandasil B), G1 (1 cc / liter of water), G2 (2 cc / liter of water), and G3 (3 cc / liter of water). The observed variables included plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, number of flowers, number of fallen flowers, fruit diameter, fruit weight, and total fruit weight per plot. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) for RBD and followed by the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test. Gandasil B contains essential nutrients: nitrogen (6%), phosphorus (20%), potassium (30%), and magnesium (3%).

Abstract

Deixis represents a fundamental linguistic phenomenon that anchors language to context, requiring systematic investigation across different discourse genres to understand how speakers strategically employ deictic expressions to achieve communicative goals. Contemporary discourse analysis increasingly recognizes the critical role of deictic elements in shaping meaning, audience engagement, and contextual interpretation across political, journalistic, and entertainment communication. This study looks at how deictic expressions are employed in three different genres of speech: Rishi Sunak's political speech, a BBC news story about Louisiana's Ten Commandments law, and an interview with Bill Gates on The Ellen Show. The research aims to identify patterns of deictic usage across these distinct communicative contexts, analyze the functional distribution of five categories of deixis (personal, social, temporal, spatial, and discoursal), and evaluate how genre-specific requirements influence deictic strategies. The methodology employs qualitative comparative discourse analysis with quantitative frequency measurements to provide both depth and breadth of analysis across the selected texts. The results suggest that personal deixis is used the most, notably in speaking and interviews where the speaker and listener can talk to each other directly. Social and temporal deixis are also very essential since they show who is doing what, when, and how. The research implications demonstrate that deictic analysis provides valuable insights for understanding genre-specific communication strategies, enhancing cross-cultural communication competence, and informing pedagogical approaches to discourse analysis and pragmatics instruction. The study found that deixis is vital for structuring speech, making it clearer, and tailoring communication to diverse audiences and goals.

Abstract

Marriage is a social institution that often faces various challenges, especially for couples with a marriage age under ten years old. This research aims to identify common problems faced by married couples in the early stages of marriage and explore strategies to solve them. The research method used was a case study with a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and observations on several couples with a marriage age of 1–10 years. The results of the study show that the most common problems that arise include less effective communication, differences in child parenting, financial management, and adjustment of roles and expectations in the household. Effective resolution strategies include improving communication skills, conflict management, strengthening emotional support, as well as involvement in marriage counseling. This study recommends the importance of pre-marriage education and ongoing mentoring for young couples to minimize the risk of conflict and improve the quality of marital relationships.
