Abstract

The national health insurance program is integrated into the Health Social Security Administering Body (BPJS Health). Through BPJS Health, the government is trying to ensure that all Indonesian citizens have fair and equitable access to quality health services without being constrained by costs. This program covers a variety of health services, from preventive services to treatment, with the hope of improving the welfare and health of the community as a whole. The JKN program is integrated into the Health Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS Health), a public legal entity that aims to administer the JKN program for all Indonesian people. This activity aims to provide health education about the use of BPJS for inpatient health services at the Pagar Jati Health Center. The method for carrying out activities is using observation sheets and questionnaires about the benefits of BPJS. From the results of the counseling provided, there was a significant increase in services, namely 86% compared to before the intervention was given.  This indicates that the differences in the predisposing factors of BPJS patients significantly influence the utilization of inpatient services at the Pagar Jati Community Health Center. There is a significant influence on respondents' knowledge before and after being given counseling about the use of BPJS for inpatient services at the Pagar Jati Community Health Center, this can be seen from the percentage level knowledge before and after with a small percentage having insufficient knowledge. From the results of activities carried out by BPJS user patients, they were very enthusiastic about welcoming this activity. Through this activity, it is hoped that knowledge of the use of BPJS will increase so that you will no longer hesitate to use the BPJS card for inpatient health services at the Pagar Jati Community Health Center.

Abstract

Respiratory disorders can attack anyone indiscriminately. It is often found that types of respiratory diseases such as asthma and ARI. The causes are varied, such as dirty air, bacteria, and viruses. The world death rate of 20% is caused by asthma which is estimated for the next 10 years if it is not treated properly. Bronchial asthma is a type of non-communicable but chronic disease of varying severity in the respiratory tract. Pharmacological therapy such as nebulization and non-pharmacological therapy such as the semi-Fowler position are appropriate treatments to be given to patients with bronchial asthma so that they can regulate the patient's respiratory frequency. Giving a nebulizer can overcome shortness of breath, relax bronchial spasms, liquefy phlegm, and clear the airways. Meanwhile, the semi-Fowler position can provide comfort in breathing so that the lungs become wider. This training activity was attended by PkM participants, namely 20 nursing staff. The series of PkM activities include the delivery of material, discussions, therapy demonstrations, and simulations of treating bronchial asthma patients using nebulization and the semi-Fowler position. The media used are a nebulizer, teaching aids, and SOP. The results of the PkM implementation show that the PkM participants have understood the benefits of nebulization in the semi-Fowler's position. Apart from that, PkM participants were also able to carry out the two treatments by the SOP which was implemented through simulation.

Abstract

Most babies' skin is prone to irritation because the skin is not moist enough. Very cold temperatures also make the skin dry and itchy. Skin disorders such as diaper rash are an inflammatory condition of the skin on the baby's thighs and buttocks. Diaper rash occurs due to skin contact with baby feces for a long time. Diaper rash can be treated through non-pharmacological therapy such as using coconut oil and aloe vera which are known to have excellent properties for the skin and without side effects. Coconut oil and aloe vera come from nature and can be used as medicine to speed up the healing process for diaper rash. Coconut oil contains tocopherols, phenols, sterols, squalene and vitamin E which are useful in repairing skin cells and preventing irritated skin. Aloe vera is also able to speed up the skin recovery process because it contains glycoprotein compounds, auxin and lignin. PkM activities are carried out through demonstrations followed by training. PkM participants are mothers who specifically have 15 toddlers. The PkM results show that PkM participants' knowledge has increased regarding the benefits of using coconut oil and aloe vera in treating diaper rash. Abstract

One of the commonly used stains in bacterial identification is gram staining, this staining is used to distinguish the physical properties of the cell wall and the chemical properties of bacteria, this dye will distinguish bacteria into gram-positive bacteria with the result of the bacteria will be purple and gram negative with the result of red bacteria. The use of safranin is effective in working on bacteria because it is alkaline, this can cause binding between the chromophore component in the dye and the cytoplasm of bacteria that are basophilic. However, the use of safranin also has a negative impact on health and the environment. Therefore, the need to use materials that are safer for health and the environment, miana leaf juice (Coleus Scutellarioides (L) Benth) can be used as a natural dye to replace safranin. Minana leaves are very easy to find in gardens and are usually ornamental plants, the anthocyanin content in this plant can be used as a color pigment to replace safranin, anthocyanins will produce red to dark red pigments in an acidic atmosphere. The purpose of this community service activity, the community service organized a workshop for students of the Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program, Lubuk Pakam Medical Health Institute, aiming to provide information on the use of miana leaf juice (Coleus scutellarioides (L) Benth) as an alternative to safranin dye in bacterial gram staining. From the results of the service, it can be concluded that the participants can understand the material and the demonstration, this can be seen from the increase in the percentage of understanding both from before 61% to 87% after being given the demonstration and material.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is characterized by pain, muscle tension, or stiffness localized below the ribs and above the crease of the buttocks, with or without leg pain. It can be categorized as non-specific LBP, a serious condition, or a radicular syndrome. Classifying LBP as acute (lasting less than 6 weeks), sub-acute (6 to 12 weeks), or chronic (more than 12 weeks) can aid in prognosis and guide management. Predictors of persistent disability from LBP include genetics, symptoms, lifestyle, social and psychological factors, and comorbidities. 7 However, no single risk factor is strongly predictive. The mechanisms of action of these risk factors are still unknown, but sleep disturbances and severe stress, for example, may lead to excessive activation of glial cells and thus to low-grade inflammation, leading to central sensitization, i.e. widespread pain. The implementation of community service activities was carried out through notification via the information platform at the village office with a sample of 15 residents in Sidodi Village, Beringin District. It is recommended that residents maintain their health, especially physically, so that, in addition, it is also recommended to continue to pay attention to or apply a healthy daily lifestyle and maintain their physical condition so that they remain healthy.

Abstract

White and bright skin is considered a symbol of beauty, success, and social status, especially in several Asian countries. This is the basis for feeling the need to care for skin, especially women. One way to care for your skin is by using whitening body lotion products so that it will produce an attractive appearance, where white and bright skin is the indicator. Finally, many women compete to use instant whitening products at low prices, but forget about the impact. Hydroquinone is an organic compound with an aromatic group that is usually added to some skin-whitening products. However, you need to pay attention to the levels and duration of use, because it can cause skin irritation and trigger cancer because it is a carcinogen. The hydroquinone level in the product is a maximum of 0.02%. This educational activity is carried out by combining methods, namely lectures, questions and answers, and discussions. PkM participants are 25 people from Lubuk Pakam. The PkM team also carried out pre and post-test activities to measure the level of knowledge of PkM participants after being given education. The PkM results provide new insight for PkM participants that some whitening products contain hydroquinone compounds at levels that exceed the limit, so PkM participants must know about the dangers of hydroquinone and how to choose safe whitening products. After being given education, PkM participants have experienced an increase in knowledge where the participants' post-test average score was 80,2 whereas the previous pre-test average score was 55,7.

Abstract

Labor pain arises because of the mother's physical and psychological response. Emotions become unstable due to anxiety and fear which worsen the condition of labor pain. The pain experienced by the mother during labor can give rise to fear which makes her anxious and often leads to panic attacks. This condition causes a physiological response that can disrupt the condition of the uterus when it contracts so that the impact of labor will last a long time. Usually, the mother who is about to give birth will find it difficult to adjust to the conditions of labor pain, so that uterine contractions cannot be controlled which causes the first stage to lengthen and the fetus to be disturbed. A prolonged labor process is a type of birth complication that is worrying, complicated, and unpredictable. A non-pharmacological method that can reduce labor pain is birth ball therapy. Research that has been conducted has found that birth ball exercises affect reducing labor pain. PkM is implemented through educational activities where there are 30 PkM participants. The results of the PkM implementation show that the PkM participants have been successfully educated through this PkM activity so that they can apply birth ball exercises to reduce labor pain in mothers. Due to the implementation of this PkM activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in the knowledge of midwives who play a role in initial level services to provide appropriate steps in dealing with labor pain in mothers using complementary therapy, and birth ball exercises.
