Abstract Background: The condition of pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (CED) could cause bad influence on mothers and children such as delivering infant with low birth weight (LBW). In 2020 the proportion of CED in Surakarta was 4,16% and experienced increase compared to 2019. The highest LBW case in Surakarta was obtained in work area of Pajang Pajang Health Center with case proportion 2,8%. The CED status is included into maternal factor of LWB because of insufficient nutrition of mothers and infants. This study aim to find out the status of CED on pregnant women towards the risk of LBW. Method: Analytic observational research with case control design retrospective approach using secondary data of Pajang Public Health Center in 2020. The research samples consisted of case sample with total sampling technique and control sample comparison 1:2 until obtained case sample 25 and control sample 50. Results: The result of chi-square showed that p-value 0.005 and odd ratio = 4,935. Conclusion: Pregnant women with CED has risk of 4,935 times higher to give birth with LBW compared to pregnant women with no CED.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition with severe effects. Diabetes patients are advised to adopt various self-management decisions and participate in care activities to improve glycemic control. Self-care management strategies assist people with diabetes in making decisions and behaviors that improve health outcomes. Self-care management strategies can be the basis for limiting and preventing serious diabetes-related consequences and financial expenses that emerge from this disease problem. This study aims to evaluate the effect of self-care management interventions on glycemic control in people with diabetes. Method: The study was quasi-experimental, with a pre-posttest design. This study used the purposive sampling strategy with 80 participants (40 controls and 40 interventions). Data was acquired by a questionnaire from the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire (GLTEQ) and the UK Diabetes and Diet Questionnaire. For normal variables, paired and independent t-tests were utilized, whereas Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests were applied for abnormal variables. Background: General anesthesia is still the best choice for neurosurgery, even it must be maintained so that the airway remains open. Airway management measures that can be carried out in several ways include intubation using laryngoscopy. There may be an increase in the hemodynamic response, namely blood pressure and pulse rate starting from 5 seconds after intubation. However, it is still being debated by experts. The aim of this study was to determine blood pressure and pulse frequency after being given Fentanyl and after the 5th minute of intubation in neurosurgical patients under general anesthesia. Method: An observational research design, 30 neurosurgical patients using fentanyl 2 mcg/kg BW and intubation techniques. The variables measured were blood pressure and pulse frequency after being given Fentanyl and after 5 minutes of intubation. The instruments used were an intra-anesthetic Hemodynamic Observation Sheet, a watch, and a bedside monitor. Data was analyzed using the independent T-test with a level of confidence of 95%. Results: The results showed that there was an increase in the average Systolic blood pressure (p-value 0.009) and pulse frequency (before intubation) and after intubation at the 5th minute (p-value 0,000). Conclusion: The study can trigger anesthesia experts to look forward to this problem appropriately
