Abstract

This study aims to improve students' physics learning outcomes by applying differentiation learning to vibration and wave material. The population in this study were class VIII students of MTs Al-Washliyah Gedung Johor, Medan, for the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample in this study was class VIII-A as the control class totaling 40 students who were given conventional learning, and class VIII-B as the experimental class totaling 39 students who were given differentiated learning. The sampling method used was quasi-experimental and used a pretest-posttest control group design. Data on physics learning outcomes were collected using observation instruments and knowledge tests in the form of 10 essay questions. The increase in students' physics learning outcomes was seen by comparing the average hypothesis test scores customarily distributed and homogeneous in both classes. Based on the outcomes, the conclusion stated that the application of differentiated learning on vibration and wave material could significantly improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the creative thinking of high school students in solving physics problems. Creative thinking skills are crucial for developing long-term success and improving the quality of life. This research is qualitative descriptive research, research methods used in research is a qualitative method, participants in this study were students of class XI SMA IPA 2 and IPA 6, totaling 66 students, data obtained from student's thinking creativity test instrument which is strengthened by data from student and teacher interviews. Data analysis referred to three indicators of creativity used in the study:  fluency, flexibility, and originality.  The results showed that the aspect of fluency exhibits the highest average proportion among the characteristics of creative thinking, while the aspect of originality shows the lowest average proportion. It is necessary to apply various kinds of learning models that are applied to be able to improve students' creative thinking skills. Although there are some students with lower levels of creative thinking, it does not imply that they lack creativity, as creativity can be fostered through other activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Sevima Edlink's e-learning-assisted guided inquiry model on high school students’ physics learning outcomes in sound wave material. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all XI MIPA classes at Masehi High School, GBKP Berastagi T.P 2022/2023 and the samples in this study were class XI MIPA 2 (experimental class) and XI MIPA 1 (control class) which were taken by cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test with 15 questions. The results showed that the average pretest and posttest scores in the experimental class were 36.23 and 80.89. While in the control class were 34.86 and 75.63. Data analysis was carried out by t-test with a significant level of α = 0.05, it was found that tcalculated < ttable = (2.286 > 1.669) then H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means that there is a significant influence of the guided inquiry model assisted by the e-learning sevima edlink on learning outcomes students in class XI SMA Swasta Massehi GBKP Berastagi on sound waves material.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-based e-module to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of a STEM-based physics e-module on the topic of work and energy for 10th-grade students. The research design used in this study was research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE model to develop the e-module on the topic of work and energy based on STEM. The population and sample of this study were 10th-grade students at SMAN 1 Deli Tua, and the sample consisted of 10th-grade students in the MIA 3 class at SMAN 1 Deli Tua. Based on the data analysis, the results of expert validation yielded a material expert validation score of 88.16% with a category of very feasible, and a media expert validation score of 90.7% with a category of very feasible. The results of the practicality test on a small scale showed that the ease aspect obtained a percentage of 91.3%, the attractiveness aspect obtained a percentage of 91.8%, and the usefulness aspect obtained a percentage of 90.2%. The results of the large-scale trial showed that the e-module obtained a highly practical category, reaching 92.6%. The ease aspect obtained a percentage of 93.2%, the attractiveness aspect obtained a percentage of 94%, and the usefulness aspect obtained a percentage of 90%. Both small and large-scale tests yielded a highly practical category. The effectiveness test showed that the average pre-test score obtained by students was 37.66, and the average post-test score was 89.6%. Based on the N-gain test, it was found that the average N-gain score of students was 0.84 or 83.94%, which is interpreted as having high effectiveness. Therefore, the product developed in this study is considered feasible, practical, and effective in supporting students' self-directed learning process on the topic of work and energy and can improve students' learning outcomes

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning model assisted by animated videos on student learning outcomes in the subject matter of work and energy. This type of research is quasi-experimental  with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The research population was all students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan T.P. 2022/2023 which consists of 7 classes. The sampling were taken by  purposive sampling, the classes taken were class X MIPA 4 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 1 as the control class. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test of learning outcomes in the form of 20 questions and student activity observation sheets. The results showed that the average pretest scores for the experimental class and the control class were 36.83 and 33.83, respectively. The results of testing the hypothesis obtained tcount < ttable, namely 1.4191 <2.002 at the significance level α = 0.05 and dk = 58, otherwise h0 is accepted or both classes have the same initial abilities. After implementation, the average post-test score obtained for the experimental class with problem-based learning was 76.8 and the control class with conventional learning was 56. The results of testing the hypothesis obtained tcount (6.35) > ttable (1.671) at the significance level α = 0.05, it was stated that ha was accepted meaning there was a difference in student learning outcomes after being given the implementation of problem-based learning model assisted by animated videos on the subject matter of work and energy in class X SMA Negeri 11 Medan.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the results of the development of the e-module are to determine the feasibility of the phet virtual laboratory-assisted e-module based on material experts, and media experts, and to find out the practicality of the phet virtual laboratory-assisted e-module based on the responses of students and physics teachers . The type of research used is research and development (R&D). The research model developed is ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The subjects in this study were all 37 students of class XI IPA at SMA PAB 4 Sampali. Based on the results of the trials that have been carried out, validation results are obtained from material experts with an average percentage score of 93% which is categorized as very feasible, while from the validation results of media experts with an average percentage score of 94% so that it is categorized as very feasible. Then to find out practicality can be seen from the percentage of scores on the response questionnaire of students who obtained a percentage score of 85%, while for the results the percentage score for physics teachers was 90%, so that overall the e-modules that have been developed are in the very practical category.
