Abstract

This research aims to identify and describe the ethnomathematics of the traditional tools of the Dayak Kanayatn Pasira' and Salapa tribes in Menjalin District, Landak Regency, West Kalimantan. The research method used is ethnomathematics with the research object being the traditional game of marbles. The data sources in this research consist of: research objects, namely Pasira' and Salapa, and related documents discussing Pasira' and Salapa. Data collection techniques are carried out through: observation and documentation. Based on the research results obtained and data analysis, it is concluded that in the traditional Pasira' and Salapa tools there are mathematical concepts, namely: the concept of building space in the Pasira' and Salapa shapes, namely cubes and blocks.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine mathematical literacy abilities in terms of Self-Esteem in Social Arithmetic material for class VII Pontianak Cooperative Middle School. The subjects of this research were 27 grade VII students at Pontianak Cooperative Middle School. Of the 27 students, they will be categorized based on each student's abilities. This research began by providing a self-esteem questionnaire, a test of mathematical literacy skills, and interviews to categorize students' ability levels. After that, proceed with analyzing and categorizing based on self-esteem and level of mathematical literacy ability to determine the research subjects who will be interviewed by selecting 9 subjects consisting of 3 students who have high self-esteem, 3 students who have medium self-esteem and 3 students who have low self-esteem. From the research results, it was concluded that students who have high self-esteem meet the indicators: Ability to read and understand mathematical information, such as tables, graphs and diagrams, ability to create and use mathematical algorithms to solve problems and obtain accurate results, ability to create and use models mathematics to solve real life problems and the ability to develop mathematical concepts that are important in everyday life such as proportion, percentage and ratio. Students who have moderate self-esteem meet the indicators: Ability to read and understand mathematical information, such as tables, graphs and diagrams, ability to create and use mathematical algorithms to solve problems and obtain accurate results, ability to create and use mathematical models to solve real life problems . Students who have low self-esteem meet the indicators of the ability to read and understand mathematical information, such as tables, graphs and diagrams.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of practicum activities to improve student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Tondano. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research that uses a survey method to describe and explain data based on the reality in the field. The research was carried out by distributing questionnaires to teachers and students, observation sheets, and practical activity sheets with data sources consisting of 30 students of class X Science 1, 30 students of class X Science 2, and biology teachers. Based on the research results, the level of readiness to obtain data for class X IPA 1 At the implementation stage of the practicum activities for class X Science 1 is 91%; the efforts made to improve the quality of practicum implementation are by improving practicum weaknesses such as the availability of tools and materials, good laboratory management, conducting evaluations, arranging implementation schedules and paying attention to laboratory layout in order to carry out practicum optimally. The factors that influence the quality of practicum implementation include student motivation, limited tools and materials, practicum schedule, availability of facilities and infrastructure, teacher's role in practicum activities, and students' active thinking.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the number block game on the ability to recognize number symbols for group A TK Pembina HKBP Tarutung. The method used in this research is a descriptive quantitative research method. The population was all children from group A of the TK Pembina HKBP totaling 25 people and all of them were used as research respondents. Data was collected using positive closed observation items totaling 13 items namely 7 items for variabel X and 6 items variabel Y. The results of data analysis show that there is a positive influence from the number block game on the ability to recognize number symbols for group A TK Pembina HKBP Tarutung: 1) Test the analysis requirements: a) test a positive relationship the value obtained is rxy = 0,564 > rtabel(=0,05,n=25) = 0,396, Thus it is know that there is a positive relationship between variable X and variable Y. b) Test significant relationship value obtained thitung= 3,276 > ttabel(=0,05,dk=n-2=23)= 2,069 thus there is a significant relationship between variable X and variable Y. c) Regression coefficient of determination test (r2) = 31,8%.2) Influence test: Regression equation test, obtained regression equation . Thus Ha that is there is an influence of the number block game on the ability to recognize number symbols for group A TK Pembina HKBP Tarutung is accepted and H0 is rejected.

Abstract

The use of interactive digital-based learning media has become an increasingly important topic in the field of education, especially at MI Azzainiyah II. This media offers the potential to enhance students' literacy and numeracy skills and enrich their learning experiences. However, to maximize its benefits, it is important to understand the perceptions and experiences of students, teachers, and educational staff regarding the use of this media. This research utilizes an interview approach as the primary method for data collection. Interviews are conducted with two groups of participants: students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Azzainiyah II and teachers/educational staff involved in the use of interactive learning media. The interview questions focus on the students' level of literacy and numeracy, their learning experiences, the effectiveness of learning media, and the challenges faced by teachers in integrating this media into the curriculum. From the results of the interviews with students, it is expected to reveal how interactive learning media contributes to improving their literacy and numeracy skills. Furthermore, students' perceptions and experiences in using this media will also be analyzed. From the interviews with teachers and educational staff, the effectiveness of using this learning media in enhancing classroom learning will be discussed. The challenges faced by teachers in integrating this media and the solutions they propose will also be an important part of the discussion. The results of this research are expected to provide valuable insights for further development in the use of interactive learning media at MI Azzainiyah II.

Fakhirah Amalia Lukman. 2023. Improving Reading Comprehension Skills using the Sustained Silent Reading Method in Class IV UPT SPF SD Inpres Kelapa Tiga 1 Makassar. Thesis. Primary School Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. This research aims to improve reading comprehension skills using the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) method for class IV UPT SPF students at SD Inpres Kelapa Tiga 1 Makassar. The subjects used in this research were 23 students. This research procedure consists of 4 stages each cycle, namely planning, implementing actions, observing and reflecting. The indicator of reading comprehension in this research is the achievement of learning completeness. The data collection is an observation sheet and the final test of each cycle. The results of this research show that there is an increase in students' reading comprehension, namely in the first cycle of students' reading comprehension, an average score of 56.1 was obtained with a learning completeness of 26%. In cycle II the average score was 80.8 with learning completeness of 86.9%. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Sustained Silent Reading (SSR) method can improve reading comprehension in class IV students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Kelapa Tiga 1 Makassar.

Abstract

Information technology is advancing increasingly rapidly, especially in the era of society 5.0. Manual implementation has almost disappeared due to technological advances in programming. Today's activities or jobs tend to emphasize us being experts in using computers. In the era of society 5.0, logical thinking is very necessary in understanding the elements of combining mathematics and computer programming algorithms because the two are interrelated. The literature analysis method used in writing this article is to determine the actualization of this programming algorithm. The collection of this article was searched by searching books and several previous articles which were then developed by developing the titles of previous articles using bibliometric methods. So it is hoped that the development of technological science can run smoothly with the participation of programming algorithms in it so that mathematics education students are able to improve the quality of the combination of technological and mathematical sciences in the era of society 5.0.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to examine the creative thinking skills in mathematics of grade IV students at SDN 192 Pekanbaru, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations. Mathematics is known as a universal language that has significant relevance in various aspects of life. In the context of mathematics, creative thinking skills are the key to approaching problems using innovative methods and creating alternative solutions. In mathematics, understanding and developing creative thinking skills is considered valuable in improving students' understanding of Geometry and multiplication operations. This study uses quantitative research methods and measures students' creative mathematical thinking skills through tests that include indicators such as elaboration, fluency, flexibility, and originality. From this observation, results were obtained which stated that the creative thinking abilities of class IV students were quite adequate overall. However, authenticity indicators were found to be underdeveloped. In conclusion, mathematics learning needs to place more emphasis on the elaboration of students' creative thinking skills, especially in the context of Geometry and multiplication operations, to increase students' understanding and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

Poetry is a literary work which contains expressions of the author poured into written form with implied meaning so the readers can interpret the results of the written work freely. This study used qualitative method with semiotic approach such as: 1) to describe the meaning of the poems 2) to know the number of icons, 3) to know the number of indexes, 4) to know the number of symbols. The results showed (1) this poem has a deep meaning about the closeness of a human being with his creator, so that at first he was far away but after trying to keep getting closer he felt a calmness, which he had never felt before, (2) there was a choice of diction that used icons, indexes, and symbols written by Sapardi Djoko Damono in expressing the meaning of the poem "Four Seuntai Poems" indirectly to the reader and (3) In the poem "Four Seuntai Poems" written by Sapardi Djoko Damono like as (a) four icons consisting of the words sent, delivered, void and breaking through, (b) three indexes consisting of forbidden words, understanding, reaching, (c) seven symbols consisting of the words house, sea, fire, garden, sky, lost, memory.

Abstract

Mathematics is a discipline characterized by its abstract nature and reliance on logical reasoning. Therefore, it is essential to choose a teaching method that facilitates students' comprehension of the subject matter and fosters their logical thinking abilities. The software is a suitable form of media for the latest advancements in technology. Presently, technology is advancing at a rapid pace and is not only utilized in daily life but can also be employed in the process of learning mathematics. Software facilitates students' comprehension of lessons by enabling them to effortlessly solve questions. Furthermore, the Maple Calculator program is a straightforward and practical tool. The Maple calculator software offers a range of tools to assist students in solving mathematical problems, including integrals and trigonometry. It provides numerous features and functionalities. It has the potential to assist students in resolving their difficulties and is anticipated to enhance students' motivation for studying mathematics. The objective of this publication is to examine the proper and accurate utilization of the Maple Calculator program.
