Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the career adaptability of students at SMA Negeri 5 Jeneponto. The sample size consisted of 83 tenth grade (X) and eleventh grade (XI) students selected using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using a career adaptability scale adapted from the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) by Savickas. The results of the analysis showed that the average score of students' career adaptability reached 77.72, which indicated that the career adaptability of students in this study was high. The majority of the research subjects rated that they had good career adaptability. Based on this finding, it can be concluded that the students who were the research subjects had a high level of career adaptability. Additional analysis showed that there were no significant differences in students' career adaptability based on gender, parental income, and chosen major. Students showed strong confidence in making career choices, actively sought information about careers of interest, cared about planning their career futures, and took responsibility for the steps they took in their careers. In conclusion, students who are the subjects of this study have a high level of career adaptability, without being influenced by these demographic variables.   Keywords: high school student profile, career adaptability, gender, parental income, major.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores trends in the design and implementation of research and development (RD) models tailored for science education rooted in local wisdom within the Nusa Tenggara region (NTB and NTT), Indonesia. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, the research synthesizes findings from 20 pertinent articles published between 2017 and 2023, adhering to specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Selected studies are indexed in SINTA (levels 1–6) and focus on ethnoscience, local wisdom, and RD models, while studies outside primary and secondary school science education or predating 2017 were excluded. The review identifies ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) and 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) as the most frequently employed development models, each representing 40% of the analyzed studies. Their popularity stems from their structured processes and adaptability to tight development timelines. Less commonly used models, such as Borg Gall and Dick Carey, feature in only 10% of cases, likely due to their complexity and resource demands. Most studies focus on producing contextually relevant teaching materials, such as ethnoscience-based modules, interactive tools, and multimedia resources that incorporate elements of local wisdom. The integration of local cultural knowledge into science learning enhances students' understanding of abstract scientific concepts, cultivates critical thinking, and strengthens cultural appreciation. These findings emphasize the value of culturally responsive approaches in designing science education materials that connect traditional wisdom with contemporary scientific perspectives. In summary, the ADDIE and 4D models are pivotal in fostering culturally relevant science education in Nusa Tenggara. Their practical and systematic frameworks enable the effective integration of regional culture into science curricula, supporting the creation of impactful and contextually aligned educational practices.   Keywords: science learning, local wisdom, ethnoscience, ADDIE model, 4D model, Nusa Tenggara, systematic literature review.

Abstract

Abstract: This study will present the results of testing the current experience instrument of senior high school students who are not contaminated with certain problems. This instrument is a development of the current experience instrument in college students who are not contaminated with certain problems. The instrument consists of 41 statements divided into 8 factors namely social isolation, excessive demands, romantic problems, decisions about the future, loneliness and unpopularity, various disorders and anxiety, social persecution, and academic challenges. This instrument was adopted by the researcher with the aim of being in line with the development of this instrument, namely measuring the extent of physical and mental health disorders to be predicted. This instrument will see how influential gender is on current experiences. Testing was conducted on 48 MA Al-Khoiriyah Gondanglegi students in classes X and XII. The results of the classical assumption test have met the classical assumptions, then proceed to the independent sample T-Test test with the results of the df value of 46 so that the t-table is 2.013 (t-count 2.706) so it can be concluded that gender determines different recent experiences or in other words gender will produce different physical or mental disorders. The test continued with the chi-square test which looked at the relationship between gender and grade level on students' current experiences with a sig value of 0.000 (p 0.05) so that H1 was accepted or there was a relationship between gender and grade level on students' current experiences or in other words that gender and grade level were related to students' current experiences. It can be concluded that gender and grade level significantly influence and relate to students' current experience.   Keywords: recent life experience, maladaptive behavior, rencent behavior, psychological disorders.

Abstract

Abstract: This research investigates the role of teacher talk in enhancing students' communicative competence within classroom practices at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar. Using a qualitative research design, the study was carried out at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Unismuh Makassar. Data collection involved audio recordings of teacher-student interactions during classroom observations, supported by interviews and document analysis. By employing this triangulated approach, the study ensured the reliability of its findings by corroborating data from multiple sources. The focus was on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms, offering valuable insights into how teacher talk contributes to fostering an interactive and supportive learning atmosphere. The findings indicate that teacher talk plays a crucial role in guiding and motivating students while facilitating active participation in classroom activities. Teachers employed a range of strategies, including acknowledging students' emotions, providing praise, integrating students' ideas, delivering information, correcting errors, asking questions, giving instructions, and encouraging engagement. Teacher talk was categorized into two key functions: instructional and managerial. Instructional talk primarily involved explaining and clarifying learning materials, while managerial talk aimed to maintain classroom order and promote student involvement in activities. The study concludes that well-organized teacher talk significantly supports the development of students' communicative competence. By strategically structuring classroom discourse, teachers help students effectively interact with both learning materials and classroom activities, creating an environment conducive to language acquisition. These findings highlight the importance of reflective practices among EFL teachers to refine their communication strategies and enhance learning outcomes.   Keywords: teacher talk, communicative competence, EFL classroom, qualitative research, instructional strategies, classroom management, language acquisition.

Abstract

Abstract: This study investigates strategies to improve the quality of teacher services in vocational high schools by examining the roles of knowledge management, interpersonal communication, organizational support, and job satisfaction. As vocational education serves as a cornerstone for human resource development, teacher performance plays a critical role in achieving its objectives. However, initial findings indicate that teacher service quality at PGRI Vocational High Schools in Bogor Regency remains below expectations, particularly in dimensions such as reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. This research aims to propose actionable strategies to address these shortcomings by exploring the interrelationships among key variables. Adopting a mixed-method approach, the study utilized path analysis to test hypotheses regarding the relationships among variables and employed the SITOREM method to prioritize indicators for improvement. From a population of 289 teachers, a sample of 168 was selected using the Slovin formula. Data collection was conducted through validated and reliable questionnaires, followed by statistical analyses, including normality tests, regression analysis, and multicollinearity assessments, ensuring the reliability and robustness of the findings. The results demonstrated significant direct and indirect effects of knowledge management, interpersonal communication, and organizational support on job satisfaction and teacher service quality. Critical areas identified for improvement included knowledge acquisition, openness, fairness, and job satisfaction, while strengths such as knowledge utilization and group equity were highlighted for maintenance. The SITOREM analysis provided a structured approach to prioritize interventions, identifying fairness, supervisor support, and empathy as key areas for actionable improvement. This study emphasizes the interconnected role of leadership, effective communication, and supportive organizational structures in creating an environment conducive to high-quality teaching. Its findings contribute to the broader dialogue on enhancing teacher service quality in vocational education. Practical recommendations include implementing targeted training initiatives, revising institutional policies, and fostering supportive organizational cultures. While the study offers valuable insights, it acknowledges limitations such as its reliance on self-reported data and the contextual focus on vocational high schools.
