<![CDATA[In the tricky landscape of instructional writing, discourse markers serve as pivotal linguistic equipment, guiding readers via complicated arguments and making sure logical drift. This research embarked on a complete exploration of discourse markers throughout clinical and non-medical genres. Through a comparative analysis, awesome styles in the frequency and distribution of these markers emerged, reflecting the specific epistemological and methodological underpinnings of every genre. <![CDATA[The aim of this research is to understand the form of anxiety of the character Kodar Santika in the novel Canthing by Narko Sodrun Budiman. Anxiety is a form of conflict that occurs within oneself. The inner conflict that causes anxiety in Kodar's character comes from an imbalance in the personality structure of the id, ego and superego. Anxiety was Freud's focus. The theory used in this research is Sigmud Freud's theory which focuses on Kodar's anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling of insecurity that develops when someone is faced with a danger that threatens their life because this feeling of insecurity causes anxiety. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used in this research are library study techniques, critical reading techniques, and note-taking techniques. The method used to analyze data is descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the research results, it was found that the main character's anxiety is neurotical anxiety, including fear and confusion. Anxiety is a realistic fear of objects and situations. And the ultimate moralistic fear includes regret and feelings of guilt. The anxiety experienced by Kodar's character is influenced by the economy, temptation towards women, and lack of support from the family. The anxiety felt by Kodar's character can be ended by using ego defense mechanisms in the form of denial, distraction, sublimation, rationalization.]]>

<![CDATA[Teaching writing is not easy. Teacher needs to think the appropriate and effective medium that will be able to attract the students’ interest. Due to this case, an animated video was chosen as a medium to facilitate students' learning process to be more interactive and attract students' interest for composing, particularly to write Descriptive Texts. The research explored the use animated videos to teach descriptive text in grade seventh academic year 2023/2024 at MTsN 6 Tulungagung. The type of experiment utilized is a Quantitative with Pre-Experiment Designs. The sample consisted of 31 students as control group. There are three steps conducting this research: pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The expert formed the validation of the questions. Based of the data analysis results, the pre-experimental class’s mean scores 76.35 and 86.32 in the post-test. Researchers found that the score of Sig. (2-Tailed) is 0.001 less than 0.05, therefore H0 is denied by acceptance of Ha. So in this case it was concluded that the differences in the analysis of the mean between the results of the pre and post-test meant that there were effects of using the animated video as the medium of learning in writing Descriptive Text in class VII in the 2023/2024 school year at MTsN 6 Tulungagung.]]>

<![CDATA[This study looks at the meanings of words and their context in Maya Angelou’s poem "Still I Rise." This poem is well-known for its message of strength and empowerment, especially for African American women during the civil rights movement. Using a qualitative approach, this research combines examining the text and interpreting its context. The lexical analysis looks at dictionary definitions of important words in the poem and their deeper meanings within the poem’s context. The contextual interpretation places the poem within the larger historical and cultural background of Angelou's life and the civil rights era. The findings show that Angelou’s use of language not only strengthens the poem’s themes of defiance and self-worth but also deeply connects with the socio-political climate of its time. The study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the lexical and contextual meanings of some of the lines in Angelou's literary work "Still I Rise" as well as in discussions of race, identity and empowerment.]]>

<![CDATA[This qualitative study investigates the effectiveness of the Duolingo English app in enhancing English learning motivation among 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sawan. Motivation in language learning is a critical factor influencing proficiency and engagement. Utilizing semi-structured interviews and participant observation, this research explores how the app influences students' intrinsic and extrinsic motivation levels. Findings reveal that DuoLingo positively impacts motivation through its interactive features and gamified learning approach, fostering a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment. Educational implications and recommendations for integrating such technology into language classrooms are discussed.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the implementation of an Educational Management Information System (EMIS) in improving the quality of education at SPM Muadalah Ulya Darussalam - Blokagung, Banyuwangi. The Educational Management Information System, known in English as the Management Information System (MIS), is a control over business that includes the empowerment of people, files, technology, and procedures by management accounting to solve business problems. In the field of education, the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) is very necessary as Indonesia has entered the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, thus requiring the management of school information related to payments, activity status, attendance, and new student admissions. There are several supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of EMIS at SPM Ulya, including the availability of information system facilities and challenges in human resources as well as technical errors.]]>

<![CDATA[Writing skill is a hard skill among others because it has to be a concern more about it, and we need to follow some rules that related to every single step, they are word choice, coherent, correlation, and grammar. The students should choose the proper word to express meaning so that the readers catch what information they wrote. The information of each paragraph, main idea, and the argumentation of the researcher should be coherent. Grammar also plays important role in writing. The use of correct grammar will not be confusing the readers. Moreover, the error of using grammar will make a serious misunderstanding toward the readers. The successful of learning writing is not merely depending on the students, but it needs a teacher contribution to reach the learning of English writing.]]>

<![CDATA[Writing is the most challenging skill in English language learning. Researchers at SMKN 1 Rejotangan observed that most students struggled with writing in English. To address this, they implemented the peer feedback method to enhance students' writing skills. The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of peer feedback in improving students’ writing abilities. Using a convergent mixed-method design, the research involved 31 students from class XI AKC 2. Instruments included pre-tests, post-tests for quantitative data, and interviews for qualitative data. Quantitative analysis was conducted using a t-test with SPSS 27, and qualitative data were analyzed thematically. Results showed significant improvement in students' writing skills after using peer feedback, as indicated by a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Interviews with five selected participants also revealed positive responses. Hence, the peer feedback method positively impacted the writing abilities of class XI AKC 2 students at SMKN 1 Rejotangan.]]>

<![CDATA[The Kampus Mengajar Program is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia aimed at improving the quality of education in elementary schools, particularly in literacy and numeracy. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of this program at SDN 5 Kalibarumanis through a creative learning approach. Implemented programs include Puzzle Mame (Metaphor Majas), TTS Listening to Stories, and the Making of 3D Shape Nets. The results show that this creative approach successfully increased students' interest, motivation, and literacy and numeracy skills. Collaboration with class teachers also positively contributed to the program's success. Based on these findings, it is recommended that this creative learning approach be further developed and implemented in other schools to enhance overall educational quality.]]>
