Abstract

Green beans (Vigna radiata L.) contain many nutrients needed by the body, one of which is calcium. In this study, a complexometric test was carried out to determine calcium levels in green beans (Vigna radiata L.). This titration was carried out directly with murexid indicator and using Na2EDTA as a titrant. The end point is indicated by a color change from pink to violet. From the research that has been done, the calcium level in green beans (Vigna radiata L.) is 0.220% w/w.

Abstract

. Bidara (Ziziphus mauritiana Lam) is one of the plant in Indonesia that is useful as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Some references also state that bidara leaves are useful as sunscreen. Viscolam is a type of gelling agent with good stability. This study is an experimental study, aimed at determining the effect of variations in viscolam base concentration with the addition of angel leaf ethanol extract on the physical properties of the gel. The gel preparation is made with a variation of 4% (F1) viscolam base;4.5% (F2); and 5% (F3). Bidara leaf extract added to each formulation is as much as 2.5%. The bidara leaf extract gel preparation that has been made is evaluated for the physical properties of the gel in the form of organoleptic test, homogeneity, pH, dispersion, and viscosity of the gel for 21 days, irritation tests and favorability tests. The results stated that the gel preparation was stable and did not cause irritation to the skin and a gel with a viscolam concentration of 5% (F3) was preferred. Further research needs to be done on the antioxidant activity of bidara leaf extract gel with variations in viscolam base to be used as sunscreen preparations.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian Penentuan Aktivitas Diuretik Kombinasi Ekstrak Etanol Kulit Buah Semangka (Citrulus lanatus L.) Dan Kulit Buah Melon (Cucumis melo L.) Pada Tikus Putih Jantan secara oral dengan mengukur volume urin tikus tiap 30 menit selama 6 jam dengan dosis 20 mg 80 mg, 30 mg 120 mg, dan 40 mg 160 mg. Hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan efek diuretik dari kombinasi ekstrak etanol kulit buah semangka dan kulit buah melon pada dosis 20 mg 80 mg memiliki kekuatan 74,193 , dosis 30 mg 120 mg memiliki kekuatan 80,645 , dan dosis 40 mg 160 mg memiliki kekuatan 93,548 dibandingkan dengan kekuatan obat. Dari pengujian statistik secara anava diperoleh karena data berdistribusi normal dan mempunyai variansi homogen. Hal ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara konsentrasi obat (spironolakton).

Abstract

A research has been carried out on determining the effect of young sapodilla fruit (Manilkara zapota L.) ethanol extract to treat burns in male guinea pigs with the observed parameters including wound length. From the statistical tests that have been carried out, it results that the data is normally distributed which is calculated using the Barlet test. Whereas the ANAVA test showed no clear difference in healing between the test substance groups at 5% concentration, 10% concentration, and 20% concentration

Abstract

Research on Determination of Vitamin C Levels in Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) has been carried out by iodimetry. The results of this study were carried out using the Iodimetric Titration method, the levels of vitamin C in cayenne pepper were 0.07498% w/b.
